“Nari,” I almost yelp as I spot my cousin.
“Hello Amber,” Nari lowers the sign that says ‘Amber and Emily from America.’
I quickly wrap my arms around Nari as a huge smile forms on my lips, “I can’t believe I’m here.”
Nari giggles, “Last time I saw you, you had no hair, were not even a foot in length, and less than ten pounds.” She holds me out by my shoulders and I finally take in my cousin. Her hair is perfectly straight and a silky black; about five foot ten; slightly skinny; flawless skin that is a nice tan shade. Since her mother is full Korean and her father is half Korean, she has the beautiful facial features of a native South Korean.
“It’s so nice to really meet you. You are even prettier in person.”
“You are even sweeter in person,” her dark green eyes flutter over to Emily. “Oh, I’m sorry. You must be Emily. As you heard, my name is Nari. Nari Moon. I’m Amber’s second cousin on her dad’s side. Her oldest uncle’s son is my dad.”
“Oh, I was wondering how you two were related,” Emily replies.
“Yeah,” I turn to my best friend. “My uncle married a full Korean, and his son did the same. Since they live over here and all.”
“Sounds complicated, but okay,” Emily nods.
“Well, enough about me. How was your flight?” Nari asks.
“It was long, but we slept at least half of the time. And then the other half we were education ourselves on the culture of the language so we can be good guests.”
“That’s great,” Nari smiles. “We should probably go get your luggage.”
“That would be wise.”
“We have two bags each,” Emily chimes in. “Hope your car is big enough.”
“It’ll be fine,” Nari nods. “We’ll make it all fit. I’m just glad to have you girls here. It’s been a long process it seems.”
“It has been. It’s great to finally be here,” I smile.
I am so sorry for the short chapter. It happens sometimes, I didn't have a lot of ideas for this particular scene. The point is to have every chapter a different point in time. Anyways, hope you still liked it!
