I couldn't keep waiting, I had to stop and write about last night before I forget something. To start off, last night was a Patriotic themed dance. I had a red and white striped dress and a blue necklace with my hair all curled. I was freaking out with excitement. Which was nothing compared to the excitement I was hiding by the end of the dance. Little did I know at the time, but last night was about to be the best, most magical night of my life up to that point. I walked in and checked in my purse with Lily. I easily found Cole and Dayton. Then Brittney ran over, tackling me with a hug. We danced for awhile then my friends left to get Popsicle. When they finished we went back in and Lily handed me her phone since I was putting mine in the castle, which is super cool, but hidden behind the stage curtain. We're not supposed to go back there. But I slipped behind the curtain and went up into the castle. Everything was pitch black. I couldn't see my own hand in front of my face. I set down Lily's phone. Then when I looked at my own Tristan sent me a message. "Time?" Was all it said.  Brittney was outside, I couldn't meet him out there. I said yes and mentioned Brittney asking him what we should do. As I waited for him to answer I saw the curtain move and someone came in. They began walking up the stairs and I quickly turned off my iPod praying to be invisible. I knew they must have seen me and my heart was pounding. I couldn't think to move, I was frozen in place, then the person passed me. I relaxed thinking the chaperon hadn't noticed me, then I felt the person stop and lean on the railing next to me on the left. They were so close that our arms and shoulders touched. I just knew he was going to say something along the lines of, "Should you be up here?" I was nervously trying to mentally prepare when to my extreme surprise, a different, but familiar voice reached my ears.

"Hey," Tristan's voice had never sounded so good. Relief flooded over me and I was too stunned to say anything. Before I knew what was happening, his arm was around me and we were together in the castle quietly whispering for a good 15-20 minutes. That's when the curtain started to open. Brittney. She had seen us. I jumped up with fright and ran to the stairs. Tristan hadn't seen her and followed me in confusion. Then his friend Arthur knocked over the strobe light by accident and it fell right in front of me. It was so bright I had stop walking. Tristan ducked behind me and escaped while Brittney came running over. She hadn't seen him. He ran outside and I ran after him. But we ran into Dayton who started talking to me and Tristan ran off again. Our friends kept us apart after that. I danced with Dayton and Cole, but after awhile it was 10:45 p.m. The last slow song came on and I felt a tap on my shoulder. I saw Tristan escape Arthur who was dragging him away and he asked me to dance. He held my iPod for me, which I knew would be hard to get back, but I let him have it anyway. We danced till the song ended then did a long hug. Like seriously... it was 40 seconds long which seems even longer when the slow music stops and everyone is leaving. There was a boy near us who whispered, "They've been hugging for a long time... should we break them apart?" Then Tristan's friends came back and we stopped. I went over to Lily and she said, "I saw that." Guess she knows we really like each other despite all our "sneakiness". At 11 the dance ended and Tristan walked with me while I got my purse. His friends started pulling him away again so I followed. They ran over to the car and he walked next to me headed in that direction.

"I guess I have to go..." He said and put his arm around me. We hugged again, keeping it short and then he started to pull back but only slightly. I was about to ask what he was doing when he kissed my cheek. Then he ran to the car with his friends and I stood in shock, starring at the crowd he had just disappeared in. I couldn't think strait, I wasn't even sure I could could count higher than ten. Then Lily walked up to me and gave me a hug. Before she let go she whispered, "I saw that too."
