24. Vincent's Roommate

"It seems pretty boring here alone." Vincent had an idea. "I know! I'll put up an ad on my Facebook page that I'm looking for a roommate." He paused for a moment. "But I have to be specific on the kind of roommate I want." He typed in in the requirements for someone who wants to become his potential roommate. "I'm looking for someone who is older than 19 no more older that 60, has a high level of tolerance, isn't a filthy slob, can keep a house in one piece and there is no discrimination on gender." Vincent typed in his address  and sent the ad. "Now, I wait." He heard a knock on the door. "That was quick." He opened it to find an emo looking guy. "I'm here for the roommate ad." Vincent led him in. "Tell me about yourself." "My name's Lyle Henderson. I'm a tattoo artist and body piercer. I work at that tattoo parlor at the mall." Vincent nodded. "Wow, a tattoo artist. Cool, cool, keep going." Lyle went on about himself and how he learned how to become a tattoo artist and body piercer from his dad. "So, it's a family business?" Asked Vincent. Lyle shook his head. "Nope. After working in my dad's tattoo parlor, I got the job at the tattoo parlor at the mall after I turned 18." Vincent decided to find another person to be his ideal roommate. A woman came in and she looked nice. "Who might you be?" She smiled at him, "My name is Mary Jane Flanigan." Vincent nearly choked on some root beer. This was Fritz's old girlfriend this is gonna be really awkward for him. "So, Ms. Flanigan is it?" She nodded. "You have a nice accent." She looked him closer. "I remember you. You're Vincent. Your hair used to be light brown." Vincent couldn't believe she remembered him. "Yep. I was that kid in high school with light brown hair with a hint of purple and I wore a black leather jacket too." She nodded. "You, didn't change much." Mary Jane saw how awkward it got. "I'm sorry. I have to go now." She left leaving Vincent confused. "I got a story for Fritz when I meet him." Many of the people he interviewed didn't seem to be the roommate he was looking for. "Note to self: add for my roommate ad, must not smell funny nor hoards illegal drugs." He felt like giving up on this. "Hello?" He turned to see a goth chick. "Is the ad for becoming your roommate still available?" He nodded. "Yes?" She took her seat. "Tell me about yourself." The goth flipped her black hair letting it hide her left eye. "Name's Carrie. I'm 19, most people don't get me because of my goth style." Vincent listened to her. "Do you like music?" Carrie nodded. "I mostly listen to rock and heavy metal. Black Veil Brides is my personal favorite. Andy Biersack is my fallen angel." He was starting to like her. "Carrie. Consider yourself my roommate." Carrie had a blank expression on her face. "Aren't you excited?" He asked. "You cannot tell but, I am ecstatic." Vincent led her to the spare room. "Here's your room and you can be free to decorate it however you want it in your image." She slammed the door and began her work. He could hear the sounds of construction going on and it stopped. "I'm done Vincent." She showed him the room she decorated. "Is that an upside-down star?" He pointed at the purple star she spray painted on the black wall. She nodded. "The purple spray paint I used glows in the dark." He looked around. "I'm no expert in interior design but, you're room is awesome." Vincent began to take quite a liking to Carrie. "Do you have friends?" She asked. Vincent gave her a framed picture of him and his friends. "These guys are my friends. There's Mike, Scott, me, Jeremy, Fritz and there's Anais." She looked at the picture. "Jeremy's a bit of a spineless, weak sauce kind of guy and he's an otaku too." She gave him a confused look "What's that?" He explained to her what an otaku is. "So, basically he's a weeaboo?" He nodded. "I like your purple hair." "Thanks. How I got to stay this purple, two words: Hair dye." She had fist out. "Sweetness."
