1. Kiss Me

He howled lonely upon the moon,

Agony swelling in the sky,

The stars listened to his empty words

And took in his mournful cry.

Kiss me, Cherish me,

Love me forever more.

Close your eyes, until the night

We'll meet upon Death's door.

He dragged his heavy feet upon the hollow ground,

Revelling in his sorrow,

Screwed up his face and tore at his hair:

"Why today but not tomorrow?"

Kiss me, Cherish me,
Love me forever more.
Close your eyes, until the night
We'll meet upon Death's door.

"Why does the world take something so divine, why

Oh cruel fate take something of mine?"

He looked in the mirror with a hateful scorn,

Missing the way he caressed the rose and was now cut by it thorn.

Kiss me, Cherish me,
Love me forever more.
Close your eyes, until the night
We'll meet upon Death's door.

He stared at her frozen face,

Her glassy eyes stared back.

Her skin had become discoloured, grey,

And her fingernails were black.

Kiss me, Cherish me,
Love me forever more.
Close your eyes, until the night
We'll meet upon Death's door.

Solemn words spoken in the hearse

And stared out the windows blacked.

When the last farewells were said,

The was but one final act...

Kiss me, Cherish me,
Love me forever more.
Close your eyes, until the night
We'll meet upon Death's door.

He closed his eyes and took a final breath;

There ended his short, sad life.

But on Death's door, who should he find?

Stood there, his darling wife.

Kissed me, Cherished me,

Loved me forever more.

Open your eyes, we are the night

And lived upon Death's door.
