Out in South Park

Rosalynn is not your average teenager. She loves to draw, skateboard, hang with the guys, and is quite innocent. Her dad's job requires her family to move quite often, so when he lets them know the day after school ends for the summer that they have to move. No one is really surprised. They pack up and head out of California to a small little town in Colorado called South Park. Rosalynn has no trouble getting friends, but what happens when she falls for one? Why does she feel so close to everyone right off the bat? Why is South Park such a weird town?
(The cover art I did not draw. It's from Deviant Art by the user kamaniki. I also do not own any of the South Park characters and landmarks that I will use, obviously. That credit goes to Trey and Matt.)

28. Snow

*A Month Later*

“Hey Kenny,” I slam my locker and look over at my lovely boyfriend.

“Yes Princess?” Kenny looks at me and tiredly smiles.

“Um,” I being to mess with the hem of my shirt. “I was just wondering if you’d like to come over to my house for Thanksgiving. You, Karen, and your mom.”

“That sounds lovely. Can my older brother Kevin come as well? He’s coming home from college to visit.”

“Yeah, that’s fine. We’ll have plenty of food. My grandparents, one aunt, and three cousins are coming. The three cousins are my aunt’s kids, obviously.”

“Sounds perfect,” Kenny yawns.

“How come you’re so tired?”

“My dad, it’s nothing. He’s just been loud and I haven’t been able to sleep. Let’s just get to lunch,” he shuts his locker.

“All right,” I lean onto my tiptoes and kiss the tip of his nose. “You know, I’m always here for you, right?”

“I know,” he grabs my hand. “This is nothing you need to worry about though. I promise.”

“Fine, if you say so.”

*The Next Night*

“Please, let me watch!” Kenny whines.

“No,” I clutch my sketchpad to my chest. “You can see it when it’s done.”

“Or I can watch you do it,” he attempts to move closer.

“No,” I scamper to the opposite end of the couch. “I don’t want you to watch. I don’t like people watching you.”

“Tweek can watch,” he crosses his arms over chest. “How can he and I can’t?”

“I don’t know, he’s different.”

“Different how?”

“I don’t know!” I push my sketchpad off my lap. Then pencil in my hand flies onto the floor. “I can’t explain it.”

“Then let me watch.”

“Rosa, tell me what’s different about Tweek that he can watch.”

“He’s not my boyfriend!” I feel a stupid tear run down my cheek. “I want to be perfect for you, and drawing is anything but perfect. Tweek is so, well, he’s Tweek. He already thinks I’m amazing. All my art is perfect in his eyes. Everything I do for him is such an act of kindness and going out of my way in his eyes. But you, I just want everything I do to be truly perfect. Please, understand.”

“You’re already perfect to me, Princess. Nothing will change that. Remember that. If I can’t watch because of that reason, then I can only respect that. Thanks for telling me.”

I push my sketchpad onto the floor so I can tackle Kenny. “Thank you,” I snuggle my head into his chest. “Thank you for understanding. I don’t mean to hurt your feelings.”

His hands start rubbing my back. “I know now. Let me watch just a little bit though, please.”

“Fine, just a few minutes.”

“You’re perfect Rosa, I promise you. You hear me? Never think I don’t think you are. You are beyond perfect in my eyes. Nothing is going to change that.”

“I fell in love with the right guy then.”

*The Next Day*

“Grandma, grandpa,” I smile at my grandparents. “This is my boyfriend, Kenny.”

“Hi, it’s nice to meet you,” Kenny reaches out to shake their.

“Let’s go give each other makeovers!” Jane, my cousin just a year younger than Ashlyn, exclaims.

Karen, Ashlyn, and Jane rush pass us and up the stairs.

“Nice to meet you dear,” my grandma smiles. “Rosa, this one is way cuter than the last.”

“Grandma,” I slightly shake my head.

“You’ve embarrassed her,” my grandpa chuckles.

“Well, I need to find Aunt Grace,” I grab Kenny’s hand and pull him away.

“They were nice,” Kenny grips my hand back.

“Move far away,” Kevin says to Danny, my cousin that’s just a year older than me. “You’ll be so happy.”

The two are sat on the couch talking about college. Danny can’t stop smiling at all Kevin has to say.

Aunt Grace and all the other adults are in the kitchen cooking and chatting away. Mrs. McCormick is wearing a very nice dress and fits in well. Kenny was worried she wouldn’t. Mia, my cousin that’s just a few months younger than me is in there too.

“Um, Aunt Grace, Mia, I just wanted to introduce Kenny to you,” I smile. “He’s my boyfriend.”

“Hello,” Kenny slightly waves.

“Ah, why hello,” Aunt Graces takes a sip of her wine.

“Yes, hello,” Mia clearly checks Kenny out.

“Um, so I think we are going to go chill in my room until the meal is ready,” I clear my throat.

“Can I join?” Mia bats her eyelashes.

“Of course,” my father answers for me.

“Fine, let’s go,” I angrily sigh.

The three of us head up to my room after grabbing some drinks.

“So Kenny,” Mia purrs from her spot on a beanbag. “You and Rosa, how is that going?”

“Wonderfully,” Kenny responds. “She’s all I’ve ever wanted, needed, dreamed of. The perfect girl for me. No one will ever change that, so you can stop trying.”

“What? I would never.”

“Sure,” I laugh. “That’s all you ever do. Steal my boyfriend’s when you meet them. Or my best guy friends, as all but one have been.”

“Not true.”

“Sure, sure,” I climb into Kenny’s lap as he sits on my bed.

“You’ll find your perfect guy one day, Mia,” Kenny kisses my cheek. “It’s not me, so how about we drop it now.”

*An Hour Or So Later*

“You need to go for it,” I look Mia in the eyes. “He’s not going to ask you out, it seems.”

“I, I’ll try then,” Mia looks away from me. “On Monday.”

“And maybe he’ll be your guy,” Kenny rests his chin on my shoulder.

“Thanks for talking this out with me this past hour or whatever,” Mia stands up.

“Food’s ready!” my dad shouts.

*The Next Afternoon*

“The dance is just a week before finals this year,” Wendy muses as she looks through the dress on the mannequin. “We have to get everything today, and in just a few hours.”

“Yeah, sorry about that,” Krystal rubs the back of her neck. “The play has just taken over my life, and we all want this one to be the best on we have ever preformed.”

“It is fine,” I place my hand on Krystal’s shoulder. “Don’t worry about it. The play comes first. A waste of a night dress comes second.”

“Hey!” Bebe exclaims.

“You really think it’s a waste of a night?” Nicole asks. “Winter Formal and Prom are one of the best nights of high school, I think.”

“I’m odd, I get it,” I shrug. “And, I like staying home more than going out.”

“What about dates with Kenny?” Wendy asks.

“A date is any time we are together. So we don’t have to go to a fancy restaurant for it to be a date. Just staying in playing video games is a date. As long as it is just us two, that is.”

“Well, regardless, you have to come. Kenny always gets all dressed up and looks very handsome,” Nicole bumps me with her hip.

“He’s handsome in a t-shirt and shorts. A suit won’t change that,” I smirk.

“You are difficult,” Bebe frowns.

“I know. But I will go anyways. As long as I can wear a warm dress,” I walk over to a dark blue velvet texture dress. “Like this.” I quickly find my size and drab it over my arm. “Anyone need help with finding a dress?”

*That Night*

“What is this play called again?” I whisper to Kenny.

Every Black Friday, South Park High puts on some kind of play. The only reason I came was to support Krystal and Cartman; Ashlyn and Karen are in it as well as background characters.

“Well, the class wrote it based on the book A Tale of Two Cities,” Kenny whispers back.

“Ah, I read that book last read. Very interesting, I loved it. This does feel based on in now that it has been pointed out,” I grab Kenny’s arm and put it over my shoulders.

The first act goes by without anything acting up, and all of the actors doing their parts perfectly. The crowd applauds as the curtains close for the intermission.

“I am impressed,” I sit up and begin to stretch. “Is there a spring play as well?”

“There is. You’re already planning on going?”

“Of course. Krystal and Cartman will be the leads of that no doubt. I want to watch them in all their glory.”

“I remember when Cartman joined theater in middle school. We all made fun of him,” Kenny’s face shows a glimpse of regret. “But he kept with it. Didn’t care what we thought. I’m glad he kept with it. He has a gift.”

“Him and Krystal must be getting closer thanks to theater,” I turn in my seat to look fully at Kenny. “Does he ever talk about her?”

“Cartman talk about Krystal?”

“Yeah. Does he?”

“Sometimes. It is very brief. Does Krystal like him?”

“Yes, a lot. I want to know if he feels the same. And then she will ask him out.”

“Well, he’ll never come out and say he likes a girl, so I can’t say for sure that he likes her. Tell her just to go for it.”

“I guess I’ll tell her that then. I just want to help them both find love, and might me right in front of their faces.”

*A Couple Days Later*

The snow flutters down form the cloud filled skies as I sit stuck in art class. I can’t bring myself to draw some random character of mine when a beautiful scene is unfolding out the window.

“Tweekers, can you get me some paint?” I pull my eyes away from the window to look at the boy.

“You trust me to get your paint?” Tweek slightly smiles.

“Of course, you’ve watched me get it time and time again. You know the colors I always get. And you don’t twitch as much anymore, so I know you won’t drop it. Plus, I’d rather not get up,” I smile back at the boy.

“Oh, well, I’ll get it anyway. Thanks, for helping with all my problems. The twitch will never go away, but the stutter is gone.”

“No, problem sweetie, I just love making people live better in any way that I can.”

“And I’m special, aren’t I?”

“If you mean special to me, then yes.”

“What are you going to paint?”

“My view out the window.”

“Oh, I’ll go get your paint, since that view can change any moment.”

*The Next Morning*

“Two feet in one night, that’s crazy,” I smile as the radio announces the reason for the school cancellation.

“Well, guess I’m not going into work,” my mom takes a slow sip of her coffee.

“Rosa, Karen and Kenny have to come over,” Ashlyn gently tugs at my winter nightgown sleeve.

“I know,” I pull my arm out of her grasp. “I’ll go call Kenny right now.”

As I walk to my room, I catch a glimpse of the outside. Snow covers everything in a perfect blanket of snow. To think it all fell last night.

Once I reach my room, I quickly call Kenny.

“Princess?” Kenny answers on the second ring.

“Kenneth, you and Karen need to get your asses over here right now,” I flop onto a beanbag.

“And what are we going to do there?”

“Just chill inside. Tomorrow we can go ice skating or whatever when it’s slightly warmer.”

“That sounds like the perfect way to spend the first snow day of this school year.”

“I haven’t seen snow in so many years, this would be amazing no matter what.”

“Well, hope you like snow, we get a fuck ton of it.”

I smile, “So you’ll be over as soon as possible?”

“If we aren’t there in twenty minutes, come looking for us.”

*The Next Afternoon*

“Kenny don’t let go of me,” I death grip his hand as we start ice skating around Stark’s Pond. “I’ve only ever roller-skated.”

Almost all the kids of South Park are out by Stark’s Pond either ice skating, making snowmen, or having snowball fights. Taking advantage of the snow day since it’ll be safe to go to school tomorrow.

“I won’t let go, I promise,” Kenny pulls me closer to him. “I’ll have you skating like a pro before the day ends.”

“You have a lot of faith in me.”

“Well, once you get going, it’s quite easy.”

“Sure,” I stumble a bit as my feet start sliding apart. “The goal for today is to not fall in the water.”

“This water always freezes at least two feet thick. You have nothing to worry about.”

“All right, then start teaching me.”

Hope you liked it! That's all for tonight. :D
