Out in South Park

Rosalynn is not your average teenager. She loves to draw, skateboard, hang with the guys, and is quite innocent. Her dad's job requires her family to move quite often, so when he lets them know the day after school ends for the summer that they have to move. No one is really surprised. They pack up and head out of California to a small little town in Colorado called South Park. Rosalynn has no trouble getting friends, but what happens when she falls for one? Why does she feel so close to everyone right off the bat? Why is South Park such a weird town?
(The cover art I did not draw. It's from Deviant Art by the user kamaniki. I also do not own any of the South Park characters and landmarks that I will use, obviously. That credit goes to Trey and Matt.)

26. Mysterion

*The Next Week*

“Thank you, and come again,” I smile and waves as the old couple leaves the diner.

It’s been a nice week at the diner. The only downside is that I work all the time. It is slightly understaffed, so I feel like I need to say and help.

I flip the ‘Open’ sign to ‘Closed’ and let out a breath.

“Rosa, is everyone gone?” Kevin comes out from the kitchen drying his hands on a towel.

“Yup, we can finally clean up and go home,” I smile at the boy. ‘It’s been a long, late shift.”

“With no help at the end,” he sighs. “I’m glad I can work with you. You’re way better than all the other waitresses combined.”

“Aw,” I start cleaning up the booths. “That’s very sweet of you. I enjoy working with you as well. I can actually talk with you.”

Kevin and I continue to talk as we quickly clean up the diner. The two of us joking and having fun as we do so.

It is half past nine when we get it all cleaned up, and then we lock up and head home.

“See you next shift Rosa,” Kevin yawns.

“Let’s make it as fun as this time,” I smile.

He nods and walks off.

I check the door to the diner one last time before I head off down the sidewalk towards my house.

It’s a little darker than I would like. The street lights not helping to illuminate at all.

“Hey beautiful,” a gruff voice scares me to a stop.

“Who’s there?” I choke out.

“All you need to know is we are going to give you the time of your life,” another male voice speaks up.

I can’t bring myself to start walking again and turn to see the men behind me.

Five. There are five grown men.

“Please, you don’t want me,” I whimper.

“Oh, I think we do,” one of them grins.

“No, I’m all gross from my shift at the diner,” my voice cracks multiple times as tears start to fall.

“Aw, look at that, she’s starting to cry,” the first guy to talk speaks up again. “Don’t cry beautiful, you’ll enjoy it.”

“Fuck off!” I yell and harshly wipe my tears away.

“You better listen to her boys,” a really deep voice fills my ears. “Walk away now, and I won’t kick your asses.”

“Show yourself first!” a man shouts out.

A boy, at least I’m assuming, appears in front of me. From the back, all I can see is the dark purple cloak he’s wearing. “Leave now, or else.”

The men burst into laughter.

“Stand back Rosa,” the hero in front of me whispers back to me. “I’ll take care of these assholes.”

The next few minutes are quite amazing as the hero kicks the shit out of the five men. They run away with their tails between their legs.

“Thank you so much,” I sniffle.

“My pleasure,” the deep voiced hero turns to face me. He seems to be wearing a light purple spandex suit that does not cover his face. In the middle of his chest is a bright green M. His underwear is on over the spandex suit and he has a belt on. On the hood of his cloak is a question mark, and he’s wearing dark green gloves. Black boots cover his feet. To top it off he has a black mask on the top half of his face. His blue eyes shine in the darkness, and his blond hair can be seen even with his cloak hood up.

“Do I know you?”

“Take a guess, Princess,” he smirks.

“Wait, Kenny?” I feel my heart pace quicken.

“Out here, in this, I’m Mysterion. Okay?”

“How did you know I was in trouble?”

“I was out and heard you shout,” he takes a step towards me. “So I rushed to save you.” Another step and he’s right in front of me.

“Well, you deserve a reward,” I place my hand on his cheek. “Then you can walk me home.”

“Anything for you,” he leans down and connects our lips.

I pull way after twenty seconds or so. A warm feeling in my heart. “Take me home now, Mysterion.”

*The Next Afternoon*

“This is really nice,” I snuggle into Kenny’s side. “The rain can’t ruin a date.”

Kenny places a hand on my side, sneaking it under my shirt. “A steady rain makes a beautiful sound. And cuddling with you is very nice. A stroll around Stark’s Pond is something we do too often, is seems.”

“Well, when the leaves start to change, I’d love to take a walk then.”

“We can do that. It’s also very pretty once it freezes over and snow covers everything. Everyone ice skates on it. We always have snowball fights and make snowmen. Ah, Princess, you’ll love it so much.”

“I have no doubt about that,” I blink my eyes shut. “Winter seems like a long time away, though. How are winters here?”

“Always very cold and shitty. So much snow, but so many days off from school. We never make them up. Just skip past the parts that are a waste. South Park is wonderful sometimes.”

“Your home has heat, right?”

“Most of the time.”

“Then you have to spend a lot of time over here during the winter. As well as Karen. To keep warm and such.”

“I think we’ll come over for more reasons than that. We’re over right now, and it’s warm outside.”

“That’s true. Well, that means I have nothing to worry about.”

“You never need to worry about me. I can take care of myself.”

“I know, you’re very strong and tough. But, you still take my sack lunches I give to you. What do the boys think?”

“That I bring them.”

“They’ve yet to see my love notes to you in them?”

“Not once. I’m quick to take it out, and read it when I’m alone. You are too sweet to me. You love me so much.”

“I do. I love you with all my heart. All my soul. You must by my soulmate.”

“I think we must be soulmates. Because I love you with all my soul too.”

*Two Months Later*

“I know this rarely happens,” Wendy smiles as she stands in front of everyone. “But, this year, for this Halloween, we are going to really try. All of us are dressing up for the party the school puts on.” She nods a few times. “We are going to rock it. Every single one of us. So, I’m going to go through my list of everyone’s names, and plan our costumes. I’ll go first. I’m dressing up as a steampunk girl. Now, Rosalynn, any idea for yourself?”

“Um, yeah,” I clear my throat. “Samus Aran in her Zero Suit.”

“Hm, interesting. A character from a video game,” Wendy runs a hand through her hair.

“How did you know that?”

“I know more than you think,” she smirks. “Now, Kyle, anything figured out?”

“I’m going as Jack Frost,” Kyle answers frankly.

“Oh, um, that’s cool,” Wendy glances down at her list. “Cartman, you’re up.”

“Just a generic police man,” Cartman yawns. “Is that okay?”

“That’s fine, fits you,” she nods. “Okay, Butters, what are you dressing up as?”

“Mega Man,” Butters replies. “Childish, I know. But, he’s cool and I like him.”

“It’s not childish,” Wendy shakes her head. “It’s very manly,” she tenderly smiles. “Kenny, what does your perverted mind want to dress up as?”

Kenny laughs, “Nothing perverted at all. I’m going as a vampire.”

“Ah, that will be cool,” she chuckles. “Okay, ah, Stan, what will you be this year?”

“Ash Ketchum from Pokémon,” Stan responds. “Not a couple costume this year. Sorry.”

“It is fine,” she shrugs. “Next, Ashlyn.”

“I’ve picked Catwomen,” Ashlyn coughs. “Not too revealing or anything.”

“Good choice, she’s an awesome DC character,” Wendy looks back at the list. “Karen, are you also an empowering DC female?”

“Actually yes,” Karen lets out a small laugh. “I am dressing up as Harley Quinn.”

“Very nice. And Ruby, are you DC as well?”

“Yeah. Ivy. Poison Ivy,” Ruby bluntly answers.

“You girls came up with good costumes. You’ll all look great,” Wendy nods. “Nicole and Token, will you guys be dressing up in couple costumes?”

“Yes,” Nicole giggles. “I’m going as Raven.”

“And I’m going as Beast Boy,” Token adds in.

“Very cute, you guys will be perfect as them,” Wendy fondly smiles. “Ike, what video game character are you going to be this year?”

“I’ve decided to be Link from Legend of Zelda,” Ike answers. “I’m running out of characters to be.”

“Well, I think Link is perfect, and hopefully they come out with some new Nintendo characters before you run out.” Wendy takes a deep breath. “Past halfway, this will be worth it. So, next up, Craig.”

“I’m going as a zombie,” Craig’s monotone voice sounds so harsh.

“Simple, but I like it,” she lets out a small yawn escapes her lips. “Oh, sorry. Um, Krystal?”

“Just a witch, but my makeup is going to be wicked,” Krystal fails at containing a laugh. “Pun intended.”

Wendy rolls her eyes, “You are such a dork. It was a clever pun though. Bebe, please don’t use a pun.”

“I can’t even come up with a pun for my costume,” Bebe lets out a breath. “I’m Tinkerbell, I’ll have glitter for pixie dust, so beware.”

“That will be fun to throw around,” Wendy snickers. “Clyde, let me guess, an overpowered superhero?”

“Superman isn’t overpowered,” Clyde grumbles. “He’s awesome.”

“Whatever you say,” Wendy smirks as she looks down at her list once again. “Tweek, did you decide on a costume yet?”

“Um, yes,” Tweek takes a sip of his coffee. His only one of today. He’s been slowly breaking his addiction. “Naruto, that’s who I’ve decided on.”

“That’s very nice, you’ll be good at being him,” she nods. “Kevin?”

“Mario,” Kevin answers. “Simple yet fun.”

“Of course, it is fine,” Wendy drops the list. “Lastly, Jimmy and Timmy, what will it be this year guys?”

“Timmah!” Timmy exclaims.

“I am g-going a-as cap-cap-Captain America,” Jimmy stutters out. “And Timmy is g-going a-as Luke Skywalker.”

“Very nice, I can’t wait to see your costumes,” Wendy puts on a genuine smile. “Well, that’s all for now. Show up to the party decked out in your costumes and it will be a very good time.”
