9. Choc Chip Cookies


115g unsalted butter

100g caster sugar

100g soft brown sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon of vanilla

270g plain flour

1 1/4 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda

pinch of salt

75g chocolate chunks



1) Pre-heat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius

2) Cream together the butter and sugars

3) Add the egg and vanilla extract

4) Add the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt

5) Mix well until a smooth dough is formed

7) Stir in the chocolate chunks

8) Line a baking tray with grease proof paper

9) Separate the the dough into roughly twenty balls and place on the baking tray

10) Using a spoon, gently flatten the dough balls

11) Cook for ten  minutes

12) When the cookies come out, they will feel liquidy but they are done. Allow them to cool before removing them from the tray


Tip: If you want to make double choc chip cookies, add 120g of Nutella when you add the egg and vanilla extract.
