7. Football Practice

I quickly changed out of my dress and into skinny jeans and a leather jacket. I pulled in a pair of black converse and grinned at my reflection. My parents would flip if they saw me wearing this.
I opened up my windows, jumping down onto the nearby oak tree and climbing down quickly. It was safe to say I had done my fair share of sneaking out.
I began walking briskly towards the school grounds, my long blonde hair flowing behind me as a slight breeze blew lightly.
I ignored the players on the bench as I arrived at the training pitch and sat down in the stands, shielding my eyes from the sun as I tried to find Calum.
My eyes scoured the players, pausing occasionally to admire the handsome few.
My eyes landed on Calum and I began watching as he played skilfully.
It was only a training session but even so Calum played gloriously, scoring goals and assists.
They finished and began cooling off, jogging slowly around the pitch.
The rest of the players continued to jog around the pitch as Calum headed towards the changing rooms and I took this as an opportunity to speak to him alone.
"Hey! Calum!" I called out, following.
"Oh! Lee!" He sounded surprised and I smiled shyly.
I haven't felt shy in a very long time but stood here in front of Calum Hood, I wanted to run away quickly and kiss him, all at the same time.
"Hey, Mr. Walker said you might be here to discuss tutoring!" Calum beamed and I giggled at his enthusiasm to be tutored.
"Um, yeah, just to discuss a schedule and stuff..." I trailed off and Calum nodded.
"Yeah, I'll just get showered and changed and then I'll see you, yeah?" He explained and I smiled.
"Yeah. I'll just be over there" I replied, pointing to the stands.
He nodded goodbye and began heading to the changing rooms. I sighed happily and turned back towards the stands, bumping straight into Dylan.
"Lee? Lee!" Dylan yelled and bundled me into a joyous hug.
"Dylan!" I replied.
Dylan was probably one off the only people in the whole school that I actually liked. He was a real, genuine person and he had a big heart. He was also super hot but I didn't want to ruin our friendship and neither did he. He was my best friend that was a boy and I was probably his best friend that was a girl.
"Lee! We've totally got to hang out sometime!" Dylan beamed and I agreed.
"Yeah, totally, call me!" I replied, high-giving him and sitting in the stands.
A few minutes later Calum bounded out and looked around. He spotted me and made his way over quickly.
"Hey, do you wanna maybe go get something to eat? It's pretty cold out here" Calum offered with a grin  and I felt butterflies erupt in my stomach.
"Yeah, that'd be awesome" I responded and followed Calum off the pitch.
"Go get some, Calum!" Somebody yelled and I blushed as Calum responded with a middle finger in the general direction of where the voice came from.
"This the date you were on about?" A girl passing by questioned and I frowned in confusion.
Then the penny dropped.
"Oh god!" I gasped and Calum stopped and turned around.
"What? Are you okay, Lee?" He asked and he sounded genuinely concerned, which just made me seem like more of an asshole.
"I kind of accidentally told everyone I was going on a date tonight" I whispered, still in a state of shock that had managed to completely demolish any chance with Calum.
"Accidentally?" He repeated with a questioning look and I stared at them round shamefully.
"Well, I wasn't going to the party and everyone was asking why and I don't know! I just panicked and said I was going on a date!" I explained and Calum nodded thoughtfully.
I looked up and Calum leaned so closed I could smell his minty breath and his amazing cologne.
"Why can't we make it a date?"
