The Assassin's Secret

Such a wonderful thing isn't it?

You know, we do possess a right to live, a right to freewill .

Some choose to use that right for the greater good and choose to abuse it.

We created this world by our actions, we were supposed to be the ones to make a difference ; Our society ended up being worse than the society that began this mess in the first place.
I wanted change, no desired it. Our society was built on desire and secrets , deceit and greed .

I wanted the game to stop.

But it had already begun.

6. Compromises

"What do you mean?" I muttered, clutching both hands together in an attempt to hide the sheer fear that came from the threat. Most likely satisfied with the response of my vivid expression, she continued

"My dear Miss Ricci, refusal to join our revolt would mean for you to pay the ultimate price .... Also if that isn’t enough, I know more about you and your family than you might ever expect, I know secrets that would permanently destroy your 'perfect' image - a revolt against your father in itself!" The Masked Woman whispered softly using her pristinely sharpened nails to scratch my face.

She knew. How on earth was that even possible? My house was so tightly secured that no one could just "hack" or infiltrate the house without some sort of detection.

T happened in my living room. My mother walked into the room with what I could decipher as a black eye badly masked with hints of concealer. She just took her seat on the nearest chair and cursed repetitively, forgetting that another being stood in her presence. - And when she did, true Ricci style forged a smile. Fake as anything. I looked at her in sympathy as I could see the effort made to even present a normal demeanor,

"Who did that?" I asked, though vaguely aware of who'd do such a thing

My mother just stared at the floor as to compose herself then curtly turned her head to face me with a new-found expression on her face,

“Brianna get out.” My mother whispered to me icily

She didn’t need to ask me twice.

I lingered behind the door just to catch a glimpse of my mother pull out a flask of liquor and drink , and drink and drink….

"Your training starts in one hour." She explained before a man (whose presence I didn't even notice before) dragged me out of the office and into the endless maze of corridors before I reached a room marked PRISONER.

I was pushed inside, it was black. Completely black. I couldn't see a thing but it reeked of.... blood? That was enough for the nausea to kick in.

"Get up Princess it's time to start." A voice called out

"Start what?" I reply with my best confident voice

"Oh you'll see..."
