She's walking amongst the Immortal, and some don't take kindly to who she resembles.

14. Midnight Sun

I looked behind me to notice that the room was empty, but Iron slowly lowered to me to the ground. “Where are we staying while we’re away?” I smiled up at him, “There’s a guest house on campus, we can stay there.” He looked a little worried as I told him this, but a bright smile spread across his face to reassure me. He pulled me into his arms kissing me slowly and passionately before whispering something between it. “Lets do this, when do we leave.” I pulled away from him, and put my hands over my face. “How about we leave now.” He ran his hands through his hair, “Okay, I’ll pack some things.” I smiled behind my hands, and as I removed them Iron placed a kiss on my lips. “I guess you don’t have to pack, I’ll back in a few.”

With that he disappeared into the darkness of the hallway, and I started to jump up and down in happiness. I couldn’t control my heart rate, and my mind was just singing. I was literally dancing from joy, and as I opened my eyes I screamed as red eyes stared back at me. I retreated to the wall afraid of my life when I finally recognized who it was. “Sumaka Jugoku,” I ran my fingers through my hair as he red eyes focused on me. She started to laugh and he used to be translucent form faded into flesh. “Please, do call me Sugo. I feel old when people call me by my full name.

I couldn’t say anything as she started looking around the room. She turned to me, and I was snatched out of my trance as she spoke. “This room, you shouldn’t be in this room.” I crossed my arms, “I’m really tired of people telling me where I can and can’t go. I can-” She held her hands up, “When the house was run by his parents, this room belonged to Doom.” I nodded, “The god that is inside of Iron used to be free.” She nodded slowly, “Indeed, this room was known for illusions to keep something of his very sacred safe.” I was intrigued by her words, and found myself being drawn in. “What was it, the sacred thing?” She turned to me, but then she looked at the door. “You’ll find out soon enough.”

She disappeared as Iron’s voice boomed through the room, “I’m ready, lets go.” I turned to him to see him smiling, and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Iron was happy, his face was lit up with joy. I walked over to him picking up one of the bags, “It’s time for you to meet the real world.” We made our way to the car, and Iron took the bags placing them in the in the trunk. I looked back at the house to see the lights flickering, and Sugo was standing in a window. I waved at her smiling, and she nodded disappeared as she did. Iron wrapped his hands around my waist, “Who are you waving at?” I looked back at him, “I was waving at a friend. Lets go, it’s an hour drive to campus.” I pulled out of his grip, and made my way to the passenger side.

“Friend? Who is this friend?” I got in as the questions flew in, and he soon followed afterward. “I was waving at Sugo,” I buckled my seat belt as he started the car. He went silent for a second, “Sugo, so you’ve seen her.” I nodded as he pulled out of the drive way, “She’s a sweet woman.” He glanced over to me, and started laughing. “Whats so funny about me telling that your nanny is a sweet woman?” “Sugo isn’t the nicest woman, the reason I loved her is because she took care of me.” I crossed my arms, and faced the window. He tapped my arm playfully, “Come on, don’t be mad.” I turned to him pouting and swinging my head back around making my hair hit me in the face. He started to laugh again, and I turned quicker than I though I would. “Why are you laughing,” He didn’t look at me nor did he stop laughing? “You’re so cute when you pout. You’re adorable.”

My face was burning, and I put my hands over it. Iron pulled my hands from my face, and poked my nose. I shook the sensation off, “Stop doing that.” He smiled at me, “What if I don’t to?” Was he flirting with me, or was he just wanting to make me mad? He pulled into the campus parking lot of the main office, and it made me wonder how he knew which one was the office. I climbed out of the car, “How did you know which one was the office?” He popped the truck before he climbed out, “I used to teach here a few years back.” He grabbed the bags that he could hold, and I grabbed the rest. He wasn’t going for the office he was going for the visitors house. “Iron, we have to check in with the office,” He looked at me and winked. “The owner doesn’t have to check in with the office.”

I stopped asking questions after that, and he sat the bags down on the cement when we approached the door. He pulled out a skeleton key, and he put it into the door. It swung open, and he motioned for me to go first. I made my way into the house, and it was beautiful just like the mansion. I sat the bags down on the floor as I saw something shining in the other room. I made my way to it, and my eyes widened as a big golden ball was flouting there. Iron came to stand beside me, “What is that thing?” He put his hand over my shoulder, “My mother used to call it a midnight sun.” I looked over at him, “It can’t be a midnight sun, it’s not hot enough.” He laughed, “They are souls who can’t move on, so in the dark they come together to make a light that is pure.”

He stepped in front of me, and he pushed my hair behind my ears. Before I knew it I was being pushed up against a wall, and Irons lips on mine. He was devouring my every being, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. He grabbed me by the waist picking me up, and I wrapped my legs around his. He pulled back kissing down my neck to my chest, and I started unbuttoning his shirt. He went rigid, and as those green eyes met mine I shuddered. It seemed like he was asking me if I was sure. I answered by ripping the buttoned up shirt he had on apart. His hands went to the hem of my shirt pulling at it until it came loose. I lifted my arms to help him in the process of taking it off. His eyes felt like swords as they went over my breast, and before I could do anything he began to move.

I held on tight as he made his way up the stairs, and I kissed his jawline starting over when I finished. He grabbed me by my waist, and threw me off of him onto a bed. He removed his shirt, and he climbed on top of me. His hands ran over my abdomen, and I shivered. He filled the void between us with his body, and a sweet kiss to make it better. I wrapped my legs around him, and he pulled back starring into my eyes. “I love you Nora.” I smiled as the words slipped from his mouth, and I felt so many emotions at this moment. “I love you too.” We kissed again this one more deep and passionate that the last. My heart was pounding, and at the moment I just wanted to be with Iron.
