5. I'm Alice

“The waves were crashing against the shore as the sun rose, illuminating the sky. I turned around to see the mansion in the distance, but Iron was no where to be found. The wind was coming in quickly making the tide rise. I walked up to a log that was sitting closely to the edge of the beach, but as I walked there I heard coughing come from behind me. I turned on my heels to see Iron laying on the shore, he was soaking wet as if he came from the sea. I ran over to him picking his head up with my hands sitting it in my lap, and as our eyes met chills ran down my spine. He seemed to be calm in this situation, and I pushed his wet hair behind his ears. I put my hands by my sides, and he slowly started to move. His body was shaking, but then it stopped.

He sat up letting his wet hair fall to his shoulders, and he grabbed my shoulders. He pushed me into the sand, and he climbed on top of me. He was starring into my eyes as the wind howled around us. His hands went to my face, and the cold touch made me flinch. His hands were soft, and it was surprising since they looked so rough. He laid his forehead on mine, and he closed his eyes. Our lips were inches away from each other, but as he leaned in my eyes came open.

I was laying in my dorm room, and I felt a little relieved. I sat up thinking that everything was just a dream, but as blood came into sight my heart skipped a beat. It was all over the floor, and without thinking I got up from, and as my feet hit the blood stained floor I heard footsteps. I walked into the kitchen where the blood led, and I found Iron sitting at the kitchen table. He was really clean, and that when I noticed it.  I was clean too.

I walked up to him grabbing him by the arm yanking him around to me, and his green eyes hit mine. I blushed, “I...Di..Did you change my clothes?” He crossed his arms, and turned around ignoring my question. I grabbed him by his hair, and his hand shot to mine. I pulled his head back, and looked into those deep green eyes. “Now, did you change my clothes?” He smiled, “Yes, I couldn’t leave you in those bloody clothes could I.” I released his hair, “Yeah, thanks. What about the floor! It’s covered in blood.”

I walked back into the room, and his voice sounded. “Níl ach braon beag fola ort!” I was a little taken back with the language he was speaking, it was an old language. I turned to see him standing, and his face was not as soft as it was a little while ago. His expression was a bit hard, but it was something about it that made it look cute. I smiled while running my hands through my hair, “What did you just say to me?” He seemed a little confused, and then his face softened. “I’m sorry, you might not understand Gaelic. I said it isn’t there much blood.”

He walked up to me, and he looked down at the floor. His eyes stayed there for a long time, I waved my hand in front of his face making them look up. I looked down at the floor to see the blood being sucked up into the floorboards. I looked at Iron, and he seemed to be calmer. I pushed his hair behind his ears, and right then I noticed what he was wearing. I couldn’t help but laugh, what he was wearing was hilarious. “Cad atá chomh greannmhar” There he goes with that language again, but this time I understood. “It’s just that you’re dressed funny.” He looked down at his attire, and as our eyes met again he frowned. He pushed his hair back, “I need to go, please stay safe Nora.”

I felt something inside me clinch as he said he had to go. I didn’t want him to go, and for some reason I felt sadness about being alone. I had ignored the fact that the blood had magically disappeared, but I didn’t want him to go. He headed for the door, and before I could protest the door shut behind him. I ran to it snatching it open only to see the darkness of the hallway.

I stepped back closing the door, and as I turned around a hand went around my neck. I lifted my eyes to see a girl standing in front of me. She was pale with long curly blonde hair, but she had no eyes. Where her eyes should have been lay two huge black circles. I put my hands over the one around my neck. She said nothing as she stood there slowly cutting off my air supply. Her grip got tighter as her expression went dark, “Hi, I’m Alice.”
