25. A Faithful Night

Wind.......Wind was blowing from all around blowing dust into my face. I moved my hand through the soft green grass, enjoying the feeling of something comforting. The sun was bright, and the climate was just right. I had never felt so at ease in my life, but it was short lived. “I see you have made yourself comparable.” I pushed myself off the ground turning around to see a woman. A woman that I knew nothing about, the woman who gave me life. My mother. I got to my feet turning slowly to face her. She was dressed in a long white dress, and her hair was pinned in a bun. “What are you doing here?” She smiled, her expression truly kind. “I am here to inform you on what is coming.” I ran my hands through my hair, “I know war is coming, I’ve heard-”

“Yes, but this war involves around you and the metronome.” I cocked an eyebrow, “What do you mean me and the metronome?” She took in a deep breath, “You are the new holder of the metronome. This gives all the powers that it has absorbed over the years” The air around me became thick, and each breath I took made my breathing even worse. “How am I the new holder,” I wheezed these words out? “You are my daughter, you were born to do this.” Before I could say another word my eyes came open.

The lightening in the room was very bright, and it made it very hard to see. I could see a faint figure standing over me, and as it cleared my heart soared. I sat up wrapping my arms around the figure, “I’m so glad that you’re alright.” It was Iron. His dark hair pulled back into a ponytail leaving one long strand in his face. His breathing was slow and low, and his hands went to my back. His touch sent shivers through my body, and as he started to speak I stopped breathing. “Nora I lied to you when we first met.” I pulled away from him confused, but smiled as I met his eyes. “It’s alright, I’m just glad you’re back.” He eyes looked down my body, and my heart began to pound my chest. His eyes went to the floor, “I should have told you about myself, and now your in danger.” I pushed the hair behind his ear, “Iron, I don’t care if your a god or not. I love you because you make me happier than anyone else has.”

His eyes shot to mine, and as I took in what I said I knew why. I had just told this man that I loved him. My cheeks heated as he started to smile, “You’re adorable when you blush. I love you too.” As his lips crashed into mine heat went through my body. This feeling was more powerful than before, it was like it was something deep inside that had just bloomed. He stood never breaking our kiss, and he climbed on top of me. I started unbuttoning his shirt, but he grabbed my hands pinning them above my head. I inhaled the his scent, and as it swirled around in my noise my heart skipped a beat. “I don’t want you in danger Nora, you have to go baby,” his voice was soft and low.

I could barley move because of his weight, “I’m not going anywhere. We’re in this together.” He removed one of his hands trailing down my body. “You might be killed, I want that to happen.” I looked into his eyes, and they were really dark. There were little cracks on his face, “Why didn’t you tell me the truth?” “I was afraid,” His eyes trailed down my body, “I was afraid that you’d run.” He removed his other hand sitting up straight, and I could tell by the way he held himself he was in pain. I sat up letting the cover fall from my naked body. I put my hand on his shoulder massaging his shoulders, “Why would you think I would run?”

He grabbed my hand squeezing it slightly, “I have watched the world evolve around me. The culture this country has absorbed. Why do you think I thought that?” He had a fairly good point, the world that I live in is way weirder that the one he lived in. “I would never run from you, I care to much for you.” The cracks on his face were getting worse, and I knew if they got any worse they would began to bleed. I laid my head on his shoulder letting my hands go slide down to his bare chest. It was slick with sweat, and from that I knew something was wrong. He was burning up, his entire body was leaking sweat. He turned to me letting his eyes roam over my body. “I love you so much Nora, but the war that’s coming revolves around you more than you know.”

His voice was gravely, and this wasn’t like him. The fact that he said that he loved me made my heart sore, but something was up with him. “Iron I don’t care if the world revolved around me. I am staying by your side.” He let out a hard sigh, “Are you willing to fight? The war that is coming is something everyone needs to be involved in.” I nodded slowly, “If it means I’m with you, then yes I will.” He turned his body to face me, and he took me by surprise as his lips met mine. The kiss was a brutal burning kiss, a kiss that made my heart skip a beat. I put my hands on the sides of his face, and I felt his tong touch my lips. I was a little bit shocked, but I opened up letting him in. He pulled back his breathe coming heavily, “You’re a drug to me Nora.” I smiled laying back down on the bed. I held out my hands, “Well, if I’m a drug let me sedate you.” His smile warmed my entire being, and as he lowered his body onto me. He warmed everything else.
