Free Verse-ish

Let it be known, I hate writing free-verse with a burning passion. But, when a poem calls, I must write it. This is a collection of such poems.

1. Uno

I've built my misery with blood and with ivory;

I've dug my grave with pretty little words.

I could not fathom my end,

I admit, I could not see that far.

I only wanted to hold on for one more day,

And I only wanted one more dance.

But how dare I wish for something so out of reach.

How dare I wish for anything more than the floor you've walked on,

And the sparkling words you've filtered out.

Forgive my selfishness and my empty heart.

I became too comfortable in a fallacy.
