Two: Are you blushing?

The tension in the room made my head hurt as Luke stood up and walked to the door. I kept my eyes focused on the patch of carpet in front of me, avoiding meeting anyone's gaze. I could feel someone's eyes on me , but I wasn't sure whose they were. I swallowed, pushing my hair behind my ear.

This was so awkward. I didn't want to deal with this. I couldn't deal with this. After all, Lance had broken up with me barely three days ago. It wasn't fair to myself or Luke. Luke. He liked me. My cheeks flooded with color again as I lifted my head. Michael and Luke were just turning the corner of the door, heading down the staircase.

Ashton stood next to the door, his eyes on the carpet. I bit my lip as I studied him. His shoulders were slouched, his hands shoved deep in his pockets. I felt guilty, but I didn't really have a reason to. Ashton and I hated each other. Why should I feel guilty about that moment with Luke?

Because you like Ashton, my conscience replied.

No, no, no. I got over my crush years ago. All I felt for Ashton was a strong disliking. I lifted my eyes to his face, studying every detail. His jaw was clenched, his nostrils flaring slightly and his eyes glaring down at my poor carpet. He was angry.

"Ash," his eyes snapped to mine when I said his name. They softened slightly, but he looked away quickly.

"You should wake Calum," he muttered, his eyes landing on the boy sleeping on my bed. "He won't sleep tonight if you don't."

I nodded slowly, still staring up at him. He looked down at me, his green eyes full of anger and sadness. I felt so confused. Why was he so angry? He sighed, rubbing a hand across his face and into his hair.

"I'll see you downstairs, Ashley," he murmured, turning his back to me. I watched him walk out of the room and out of sight. Hearing the stairs creak as he went down, I fell back to the floor. Staring up at the ceiling, I tried to think straight.

My heart hurt from Lance's recent dumping and the surprise visit from my brother and his best friends. I hadn't seen the boys in a while. Months had passed since their last visit, and then I had only seen Calum. I sighed, closing my eyes.

"Cal," I called out, still laying on the ground. When no answer came, I sat up. Peeking over the edge of my bed, my face came level with his. I let out a slow breath, purposely fanning it over his sleeping face. He didn't even flinch. I crawled closer to the bed and placed my hands on the blanket. He looks so peaceful when he sleeps. It's adorable! "Calum."

His head twitched a little bit, but other than that he didn't move. I poked his cheek a couple times, causing him to swat at my hand. I decided to kick it up a notch and ruffled his hair and shook at his shoulders. I giggled at the fact that he was still asleep. Man this kid could sleep through anything.

"Calum Hood," I called louder than was probably necessary, but he still didn't move an inch. "Calum, there's pizza..."

Still nothing.

"Calum, Will Smith is downstairs."

Nadda.

"Cal," I whisper, bending close to his ear. I leaned close to his cheek, brushing my tongue along his skin. He shot up quickly, a girlish squeal coming from his parted lips as he wiped at his face.

"Ew! Ashley!" The look of absolute disgust put a smile back on my face, almost making me forget about what had just happened. "That's so gross! You are so disgusting. Please tell me you don't lick people often."

"Sorry, Cal." I manage through my giggles. A pout appeared on his face as he watched me laugh at him. "I won't do it again, I promise."

"God, that was so gross," he whined again, wiping at his face again and sending me into another fit of giggles. "Stop it, Ashley!"

I attempted to stop laughing, and soon it died down to soft giggles. He stood up and held his hand out to help me up. I gratefully took his hand and he led me to the door, my hand still in his.

"Did I hear something about pizza?" Calum asked as we walked down the stairs. I smirked at him; of course he had heard the word 'pizza'.

"Yeah," I replied swinging our hands in a childish manner. He just shook his head at my antics before joining in. "Mikey and Ash went and got some while you were asleep."

He raised his eyebrow at that. "They left you alone with Luke?"

I felt my cheeks heat up and prayed he didn't ask about it. "And you."

"I was asleep." He reminded me. "So I don't count. Are you blushing?"

"No!" I replied quickly, not wanting to discuss this with him. We walked out of the hallway and into the living room. The other boys had all chosen a seat and had the telly on low. They each had a piece of pizza and it seemed that Luke was ignoring Ashton and vice versa. They all looked up as we entered. All eyes flickered to our clasped hands and I quickly let go as I saw anger grow on Michael's face. Luke looked frustrated, but Ashton just looked sad. Weird. Calum chuckled and dragged me to the couch sitting me down between Ashton and himself.

He didn't know that it was awkward between us. I sat still, my back rigid, as I stared at the random show playing on the telly. It was a soap opera. Not only a soap opera, it was in spanish. Why were they watching a spanish soap? Weirdos...

"Here, Ash," that familiar husky voice mumbled in my ear. I looked down at the food he was holding out to me and smiled gratefully. I tried to ignore the tingles that ran up my arm as our fingers brushed. Biting my bottom lip, I leaned backward and relaxed into the couch cushions.

"Thank you, Ashton." I mumbled, glancing up to see him staring back. I could feel the heat rushing up my neck and flooding my cheeks. He smirked down at me.

"No problem, sweetheart."

I just rolled my eyes. Well, at least he wasn't mad anymore.

Taking a bite from the pizza, I almost let out a moan of delight. It tasted so heavenly! My eyes closed and I chewed it slowly, savoring the flavors. I must have let a moan slip out because when I opened my eyes again everyone was staring at me.

"What?" I asked in confusion. Michael was looking a little grossed out while the others looked startled but amused.

"That was hot." Ashton mumbled, biting his bottom lip. I blushed red again as I met his eyes and saw a strong emotion I didn't recognize. He looked so hot right then.

Get yourself together, Ashley!

"Hell yeah," Luke and Calum agreed together.

"No," Michael said, shaking his head. "No, absolutely not. It was disturbing."

"What?" I asked again, still slightly clueless.

"You totally just moaned," Luke said in a low voice.

"Sexy as hell," Ash murmured under his breath, so quietly that I almost missed it. Wait, what?

"Um...." I wasn't sure what to do. I glanced away from the sex crazed boy next to me and looked to my brother. He was shaking his head, trying to mentally erase the sound I'm sure. "Sorry guys. The pizza is just really good."

"If that's the sound she makes for pizza," Luke whispered to Calum in the silence. "I wonder what she'd sound like--"

"Do not even go there," Michael growled, glaring straight at Luke. Calum looked like he was going to piss himself with laughter, while Ashton just stared at me...hungrily? What. The. Actual. Hell.

We all sat in silence for a while. I wasn't able to look at anyone, my embarrassment quota for the day full. Calum was the one to break the awkward silence when he cleared his throat.

"Right," he spoke up next to me. He shot me an amused smirk as he drew the attention away from me. I thanked him silently with my eyes. That was awkward such an awkward moment. "Why don't we watch a movie before heading to bed?"

Everyone agreed and soon they were arguing over which film to watch. Michael and Luke were all for the horror while Calum wanted to watch an action. Surprisingly, Ashton was with me in wanting to watch a romance.

"Please, Michael?" I begged him with a pout, batting my eyelashes. "You know I can't stand horror movies!"

"Yeah, Michael!" Ashton chimed in, flinging his arm around my shoulders. I froze at his touch, not sure what to do. His hand was warm on my shoulder, sending goosebumps along my skin. "You know Ashley gets scared. I mean, I could always cuddle with her..."

I felt my eyes widen. Cuddle? With Ash? I had always wanted to back when I was crushing on him. Thinking about it now, I wondered what it would feel like to have his arms wrapped around me.

"Hell no!" Michael screeched successfully pulling me out of my momentary shock. "We can watch a stupid chick-flick!"

I grinned up at Ashton and we high-fived. The corner of his lips turned up the tiniest bit, a small, barely there smile gracing his lips. I stood up, picking out one of the best chick flicks we had - Dirty Dancing. Luke and Calum groaned in annoyance as I placed my movie in the player, but soon enough everyone was silently engrossed in the movie.
