Chapter Thirty-Four: Totally Okay

"Cause I'm trying too hard again!"

They ended the song perfectly, waving at the crowd before running off stage. Ashton's sweaty body collided with mine, his arms wrapping tightly around my waist. He picked me up, swinging me around in a circle. I wrapped my legs around his hips, my arms clinging to his neck as I laughed.

"Could you not?" Michael groaned, his grip on his water bottle tightening. Ashton stopped spinning and set me back on my feet, keeping his arms around me. He pressed a soft kiss to my cheek, making me blush.

"You're just jealous," Ashton responded, his eyes still on my face and a grin appearing on his own.

"Of what?" Michael snorted, pushing his hair out of his face. It was dyed a bright red now.

"That I have a girlfriend and you don't," Ashton teased, pulling me closer. I tried to push out of his hold, but his grip on my waist was strong.

"Ash, let go!" I giggled, pushing at his hands. A pout took over his face, and I'll tell you something. He looks so adorable like that. "You're all sweaty, Ashton."

A mischievous smirk took over his face and he pulled me closer, his lips finding my ear. I let out a shaky breath as his lips caressed my skin.

"You'll be begging for me to be closer when we're in your bed all sweaty together." he whispered seductively in my ear, making me gasp and a deep blush claim my face. I could barely breath, my heart racing and the butterflies in my stomach going into hyperdrive.

"Oi!" Someone shouted, making me jump in surprise. Ashton grinned down at me in amusement. "I said you could date her, but don't go doing shit with her. She's seventeen. You're nineteen. It's technically illegal."

My eyes widened at my brother's words, my blush - if possible - growing deeper. If my brother actually knew what Ashton had just whispered to me, he would probably kill him. Only a moment ago I had wanted to get out of his hold, but now I hid my face in Ashton's chest. His laugh shook his whole body as he pulled me closer. His arms held me close, keeping me hidden from everyone else.

"Ah, leave it be, Mikey," Calum jumped to my rescue. I was so relieved. If those two continued their bickering I would've died of embarrassment. "Look at the poor girl! You've turned her into a tomato, you have."

"She'll live," Luke muttered distractedly. Lifting my head, I glanced at him. He was staring at his phone, a slight smirk pulling at the corners of his lips. Hmm, I would have to ask him about that later.

"Again, you're just jealous," Ashton said, stuffing his face into my hair. I giggled, pecking his cheek. He was so cute when he was like this. His hands were splayed across my back, his fingers brushing the skin between my top and jeans. How had he managed to find skin? I had pulled my shirt down over the belt loops.

"Why would I be jealous?" Michael asked again, his eyebrow raised.

We all looked at him. Like, really looked at him. Now that I was looking for something, I realized he was way more laid back than he had been at the start of this trip. Now that I was thinking about it, he was always on his phone or disappearing from the room. What was going on with--. Oh, I know.

"Because I have a girlfr--"

"Who is she?" I asked cutting Ashton's proud declaration off, and hiding a smirk. It was so totally a girl. My brother's cheeks flushed almost the same shade as his hair. I could barely keep the grin from my face. Yup, totally a girl!

"W-what do you m-mean?" He stuttered out, stuffing his hands in his pockets and backing away. "There's no girl."

The grin broke out, plastering to my face. I could feel Ashton's chuckle behind me, and Calum was having a hard time not laughing at the look of total mortification on my twin's face.

"Oh there's totally a girl," I spoke my thoughts. When had he met her? "Who is she?"

"N-no one!" He insisted before bolting down the hall towards the dressing room. I giggled, turning in Ashton's arms. He smiled adoringly down at me before lightly kissing the tip of my nose.

"I love it when you smile," he whispered, pulling me flush against his body. My cheeks flooded with color - the same color my brother was sporting - as he kissed my cheek. "I love being able to hold you, too. It's so refreshing, not having you're brother yelling at me every time I look at you."

And with that, he pulled away. His fingers trailed down my arm, soon tangling with mine as he began walking. As he pulled me towards the dressing room, I grinned in realization.

I was falling deeply in love with this boy - and I was totally okay with that.
