Chapter Six: You'd be an ugly girl

We finally made it inside the hotel. It took a lot out of me and I was ready for sleep. The boys didn't look much better though. Luke had lost part of his shirt and Calum had lipstick smeared across his face while Michael looked as though he had been ripping his hair out, but it was the fans. Ashton stayed with me, protecting me from harm and in return was kicked in the shin and slapped a few times accidentally. I tried hard not to laugh at him, but it was difficult.

The lobby was gorgeous though, and had me captivated from the moment I walked through the double doors. The floor was black marble and I could see my reflection in it. Golden wallpaper covered each wall and the chandeliers brightly lit the room despite the dark colors. The front desk was made out of a dark grey marble and the man behind it was looking about as fancy as the hotel itself.

I stood to the side with the lads and Bobby as Michael and Harley walked up to the front desk.

"Look here Harley," Michael began as they moved farther away from us. "We need three rooms. I'm serious about this. Please, at least two?"

"Michael, one room is all we need. We're only staying for a few days before we head off." Harley replied. I think that's the first time I had heard him speak. He sounded slightly annoyed, but at the same time he sounded very frustrated at Michael's stubbornness. "We just have to stay for two days, she'll be fine."

"She's my sister! And she's seventeen. Who knows what shit those boys will try to do to her!" Michael argued, though honestly he wasn't doing a very good job. "I won't let her share a bed with one of them."

"We're only getting one room, Michael." Harley said sternly. He ran a hand through his short hair in obvious frustration. "And that's final!"

"Fine," my twin replied with a huff. He crossed his arms and pouted. I have to say this - he's not the best at the puppy face. I had to hold back a laugh. "But at least get three beds? Please, Harley?"

Harley nodded, muttering about difficult kids and that yes he would try. Michael marched back to our small group - still pouting about not getting his way - while Harley spoke to the man about our room.

Luke and Ashton were speaking in low voices, sending each other hard glares every five seconds while Calum and Michael began to discuss....something. I zoned out quickly.

I was standing there, in the group, but my mind was elsewhere. I was thinking about Calum and Michael's conversation on the way over here.

Ashton liked me?

No he wants to shag you.

But Calum said--

And Michael said he wanted to shag you.

Well what about Luke?

He just wants to shag you too.

I don't believe that.

Oh yeah? Why not?

B-because. We're best friends.

But he wants more than that.

"Ashley?" I shook my head attempting to clear those thoughts out. Looking up I met the friendly brown eyes of Calum.

"Hey, sorry what?"

"I just wanted to know if you wanna head upstairs to take a nap." Calum replied with an excited smile.

"Oh, erm..." I glanced around, noticing that Harley had rejoined our group. "Yeah, actually. I didn't get to sleep on the plane."

"I know," he chuckled, rolling his eyes. "I heard Ashton trying to teach you everything about One Direction."

"Yeah," I giggled a bit. Calum could always help me with calming down. "But I suppose it's worth it if I know something."

"I guess, though you'll need more than one plane trip to learn everything there is to know." he said with a light smile. "So about that nap?"

"Yes! I definitely want to take one." I grinned sleepily up at him. Why were they all so freakishly tall? Okay maybe I'm over reacting because I'm so short. I grabbed his hand and began skipping to the lifts, swinging our hands in a childish manner between the two of us.

He shook his head at my childish antics, but soon joined in and we made it to the lift in fits of giggles.

"Remember that one time when Michael was showering and then we put that bucket full of flour over the door?" Calum managed to say through a laugh.

"Yes!" I giggled loudly, amused by our old pranks. "And - and he opened it and --"

I cut off, letting out a loud and obnoxious laugh. Calum cracked up again too.

"It fell all over his wet body!" We chorused together.

The other three were still standing a ways off, arguing about something.

"He was covered!" Calum was practically bent over laughing now.

"He was so mad!" I chuckled, remembering the look on my brother's face. "It took him forever to get it all out of his hair."

We continued to laugh and reminisce as the others began to walk towards us. Bobby reached us first and he ushered us into the empty lift.

"The others will catch the next." Bobby mumbled, pressing the little button with tiny black numbers. Floor 7.

Calum leaned up against the wall, his hands gripping the bar loosely, and his eyes closed. I stood next to him, leaning on the adjacent wall with my arms crossed.

"So," I smirked over at him as the doors closed and we were calmed some. One golden brown eye popped open as I spoke, watching me carefully. "What's going on with Ashton and Luke?"

Calum swallowed deeply, shifting nervously from one foot to the other. Both eyes were on me now as I stood still, watching him with equal curiosity and suspicion.

"Oh those two?" He said in a fake relaxed voice. "They're always arguing about something."

I eyed him carefully and he squirmed under my searching gaze. It was funny how nervous he seemed.

"Oh really?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. "Since when? They were best buddies back when."

"Oh. Erm...yeah." He was obviously struggling to come up with something to say. "They're just being girls about something. It's fine, don't worry. They'll get over it soon."

I nodded slowly and he looked relieved that I accepted his poor excuse.

"Besides, that's not what you should be worried about." His voice held a hint of amusement as he watched me.

"Yeah," he smirked. "If I were you---"

"You'd be an ugly girl."

"Shut up!" He pouted at me. He was better at it than Michael, but not by much. I covered my mouth, covering up a giggle. "Anyway, be worried about what you're going to wear tonight."

"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion. We weren't suppose to go anywhere tonight.

"We're going to a party!" Calum replied like a giddy school girl. "And you're going to meet the 1D lads."
