Chapter Seven: You'll never look hot so quit trying

We beat the others to the room, though it was no surprise. Calum and I raced into the room to claim a bed. The room was pretty big considering and had a separate room with the beds. A living space with a big screen TV and a cozy looking sofa was placed next to a cute little kitchenette. A smallish fridge sat in the corner nearest to the sofa while a microwave sat in another corner on the clean counter. An oven sat next to the sink but there was no dishwasher.

Calum and I explored a little around the public space before entering the bedroom. Three double beds sat in a row, and I rushed to the one closest to the window which also had the most privacy. Calum claimed the bed next to mine, grumbling about having to share. I just laughed at him. One good thing about having an over-protective twin brother was the fact I wouldn't have to share.

We threw our bags onto the beds and as Cal laid down to take a nap, I went to hunt down the bathroom. Walking to the other side of the room, I found it. There was a cute little nook with a small counter space, two sinks and a big mirror. Across from the mirror was a door, which ended up leading into the toilet and shower. Well this would be fun.

Soon after I had found the bathroom, I scurried back to my bed. I was way too tired from the long flight and the mass of fans outside. Calum's suggestion of a nap was sounding really good right about now. Just as I was crawling under the covers, I heard the main door open and arguing voices entered the hotel room. I yawned and decided to ignore them.

My eyes drifted shut and soon I was dreaming.

"Jesus, Michael!" An angry voice whisper-yelled. "I'm not going to do anything to her! I just want to talk to her!"

"No." My brother's voice came from the other side of the room. "I'm not leaving you alone with her again."

"Oh please! Calum was there." The boy standing near me spoke louder this time.

"I agree with Michael." Another, deeper voice spoke for the first time. He seemed to be sitting at the foot of my bed.

"That's because you want her for yourself, Ash." The first voice - Luke - spoke again, frustration and anger radiating off of him.

"I - that's - no -" Ashton's stuttering was cut off by a loud chuckle.

"Come off it, Ashton," Calum entered the conversation. "Everyone but Ashley can tell. It's all over your face. She's just blind."

"I don't like Ashley." Ashton sounded grim, and I could picture the frown on his face, his soft lips in a straight line and his forehead wrinkled. "She's a challenge, that's all."

Damn. Okay, fine. But what was that the other night? Was he just messing with me? Screw it, I don't care.

"Whatever. I was totally awake the other night when you two were cuddling." Calum was amused by all of this. That jerk had been spying. Oh he was dead later.

"You were what?" Michael's voice was scary low. Whoops.

"Thanks a lot, Calum." Ashton whispered angrily. "Throw me and her under the bus why don't ya."

"I told you to stay away from her, Ashton!" Michael was angry. But why did it matter if I cuddled with Ash once? It didn't mean anything, obviously. I was just tired.

"She fell asleep on my shoulder." Ashton growled out. "It was completely innocent. I didn't do anything to her."

Calum coughed loudly, covering up a laugh. Damn, he really had seen everything, hadn't he? I mentally hit the back of his head and I knew that Ashton was glaring death at him.

"She was tired and Calum was hogging the couch, that's all. I let her lay on my shoulder." Ashton managed to stay calm..ish. He was trying to keep Michael from beating his face in and not get me in trouble at the same time. "I swear nothing happened, Michael."

"Fine." Uh oh. Michael would be mad for awhile. Dammit, Calum!

I rolled over, stretching and acting like I was just waking up. Opening my eyes, I found all eyes on me.

"What?" I asked in a groggy morning voice. And I wasn't faking it! "Why are you all staring at me?"

Calum smirked at me. Oh, he knew I was awake the whole time. I knew it. He did that just to bug me. I sent him a hard glare, silently telling him he was dead to me. He flinched a little, but kept his smirk in place.

"Nothing," Michael answered, still glaring at Ashton.

"But you need to get up and get ready for the party." Luke spoke up for the first time in a few minutes. "We need to leave in an hour."

I glanced at my phone and noticed it was already 6:39pm. Damn I had slept for five hours. Yawning, I nodded.

"Okay, what should I wear?" I glanced over at Ashton, briefly meeting his hard gaze which softened as it met mine. "A dress? Or can I just wear my jeans?"

"A dress." Ashton and Luke spoke at the same time. Calum chuckled next to me. I just rolled my eyes, standing up to stretch some more.

"Okay..." I stood stretching my arms above my head. "I'll wear a dress."

Luke and Ashton both grinned and Calum laughed at them. Michael didn't look happy, but he shooed the boys away to let me have some privacy.

"Can I take the shower?" I called out to them, bending down to my bag in search of an appropriate dress.

"Yes," came Michael's reply.

"Sure." Luke answered.

"Don't care!" Calum called out from the other room.

"No!" Ashton glared playfully at me. "I need to look hot, so I need to shower."

"Ashton, you'll never look hot so quit trying." Lies. He was super hot. "I need to shower. I feel all gross from the plane ride."

He faked a look of hurt at my jab but I just rolled my eyes, strolling to the bathroom.

"Don't forget to lock the door!" Calum called to me sending a smirk my way. I laughed with him as I entered the bathroom.

"Right!" I giggled. "Ash, you can have it after me!"

I heard a 'whatever' followed by a few cuss words as he tripped over his own feet. I closed the door and locked it, beginning my process of getting ready.
