Chapter Fourteen: Ashton is just PMSing

We've been on tour for a week. I have had my camera out most of the time, filming the guys when they weren't even aware of it. I got footage of their silliness, seriousness and just all around plain stupidness. I got a video of Michael and Calum playing chess. Yes, chess. I'm sure it sounds lame, but it was quite entertaining. Neither of them knew how to play correctly, and they argued the entire game.

It's been a good week.

I got into a food fight with Calum, beat Niall at FIFA, had a staring contest with Liam, watched The Internship with Louis, let Zayn sketch me, played twenty questions with Harry, and taught Michael how to say please. At least, I was trying to teach Michael to say please.

It's been awkward between Luke and I since the kissing incident at the start of the week. We've basically ignored each other a lot, trying to stay away from awkward silences and being alone together.

Ashton and I haven't done much together. We only did things together with the rest of the group. He seemed to be avoiding me after his little fit the first day. I wasn't ignoring him, but I wasn't trying to talk to him either.

It's been fun spending time with the lads, but I was getting sick of boys. I needed another girls night, but Dani had already left. She had to go early due to something coming up at work. But we had fun together while she was here, and as I had suspected, we were instant friends. We had exchanged numbers and were already planning to get together again soon.

After the first concert, my mind barely turned off. With everything that everyone had said, I was still mulling over the idea of Ashton liking me. The idea had been becoming less likely every day. After that first day, Ashton and I hadn't spoken a civil word to one another. We were back to the way we were before they were stars.

Though, he did have his moments. He could be such a sweetheart one day and the next he was a complete arse. Maybe I should take the lads up on the jealousy idea. I admit I was curious about the truth.

"Hey, Ashley," Harry said, drawing my attention as he sat down next to me. I was sitting on the corner of the stage, my camera in my hand. I was getting ready to film the lads during their sound check. They were the biggest dorks during sound check and I finally had the brilliant idea to bring my video camera.

"Hi Haz," I smiled over at him as I messed with the settings on my camera, fixing the lighting. "What's up?"

"I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out with me tomorrow night?" He rubbed the back of his neck in a shy action. It was cute how nervous he seemed.

"Aren't we going to a club tomorrow night?" I asked setting my camera aside. Was Harry asking me on a date?

"Well, yeah." He looked down at his lap, playing with the hem of his shirt. "But I was thinking we could start that jealousy thing. I mean, if you wanted to."

"Oh," was all I could say. Would it have to be Harry? Wouldn't it be obvious though? That I was trying to make Ashton jealous? "Are you sure it's a good idea? I mean, you being the guy?"

"Well, why not?" He asked, turning to face me.

"I mean, you're a major flirt." I stated, pointing out the obvious.

"Yeah, that's true." Harry nodded, scratching his head in thought. "Maybe Louis? He's the only one other than me who isn't in a relationship right now."

"What about Niall?" I asked, my eyes flickering to said boy who was joking around with their drummer Josh and Ashton.

"Everyone knows he's in love with Kassidy. It wouldn't be convincing enough." Harry pointed out, tugging on one of my curls. I was wearing my hair down today, just because I had decided to let it dry naturally. "Plus, Ashton had already seen you with Louis plenty of times to make it look convincing."

"Well, I suppose," I replied hesitantly, batting his hand away from my hair. I hated people playing with my hair. "If Lou agrees, then I guess it's a plan."

"Hang on, I'll go find him." Harry stood and ran off to locate his friend.

I sat messing with my camera some more while I waited for the two boys to return. My eyes decided to wander around the arena, landing on the curly haired boy with grey-green eyes and the cutest smile I had ever seen. His hands were moving around in front of him as he spoke animatedly to the other drummer. His eyes were lit up with excitement and a genuine smile graced his lips.

"Staring at lover boy, are we?" Lou's teasing voice made me snap my head up to look at him. He and Harry were standing next to me, towering over my sitting figure.

"Shut it, Lou," I rolled my eyes as he sat next to me, waving Harry away.

"So, how do you want to do this?" He smirked at me, wiggling his eyebrows in a suggestive manner.

"I'm not sure I want to," I replied running a hand through my hair. I don't want to pretend to date someone just to get Ashton's attention. I'm not even sure I wanted his attention. "I'd feel like I'm using you."

"We don't have to fake date to make him jealous, Ashley. If I do this," he draped his arm around my shoulder drawing me closer to him before placing his lips on my cheek in a lingering kiss. He then proceeded to whisper in my ear. "That alone will make him upset--if he likes you."

I giggled as his breath tickled my skin, my eyes lifting to meet Ashton's stormy gaze. His eyes flashed with an unknown emotion before he turned his back to us and continued his conversation with Josh.

"See?" Louis laughter was barely contained and he had to hide his face in my shoulder to keep quiet. "He is desperately in love with you, Ash."

"That proves nothing, Louis Tomlinson," I glared playfully at him. "Ashton is just PMSing."

That made Louis crack up, his laughter echoing around the empty arena and drawing the attention of the rest of the lads. Lou had fallen back, laying on the floor with his hands on his stomach.

"It wasn't that funny, Lou," I muttered, blushing from all the attention, but I grinned at him anyway.

"It was too!" He argued, sitting up and glaring at me. It would've been a believable glare had I not seen the smirk forming on his lips.

"You need to start so we can get you ready for the show!" Someone yelled, people rushing the boys around and off stage. I watched in amusement as my boys were fussed over, getting their earpieces set up. Ashton was now sat at his drums, a relieved expression on his face while Luke, Calum and Michael stood at their mic's with their instruments. Luke fiddled with his earpiece, and tweaked his guitar strap. Michael yawned before running a hand through his hair and pulling his guitar strap over his head and fitting it comfortably around his body. Calum actually looked bored as he quickly checked his tuning. Liam, Harry, Zayn and Niall had all disappeared, but Louis was still sitting next to me.

"Go away, Lou," I pushed his shoulder in an attempt to get him to leave, but he didn't budge. "I need to focus and you should should go get me food or something."

He shook his head, but stood up and walked away from me anyway. I turned and held my camera, ready to start filming the lads in front of me.

"I'm not coming back, girly," He called over his shoulder, shooting me a wink and blowing me a kiss. "I'll see you later, sweetheart."

I rolled my eyes, turning back to face the band. I caught Ashton watching me with a guarded look, my curiosity peaking. Why did he always watch me? It was starting to get a little creepy.

I shook it of, lifting my camera and clicking the record button. If only I could get my mind off of him, I'd feel so much better and I'd be able to finally relax on this tour.

"Let's start wit--" Luke started, but he was cut off by Ashton starting up the drums, the beat of my favorite song from them echoing through the arena. Calum rolled his eyes and shrugged at the others before picking up with the bass. Michael and Luke soon joined in with the guitar after getting over Ashton's sudden choice.

"Within a minute I was all packed up,

I've got a ticket to another world,

I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go...."
