6. One Night Alone

Even though Alvin had recovered from his coma, due to his injuries, he had to stay in the hospital, until his injuries were healed. The bullet wounds he had received from Ryan were recovering, but the blows to the face had fractured a few bones, mostly, in the cheek areas.

It downed Brittany that he had to stay in the hospital, but she knew that soon, he would be fully recovered, and she can start spending time with her loved one again.

Each day, Brittany, along with Dave, Miss Miller, and the five chipmunks, visited Alvin. Each time they all came, it seemed as if Alvin, had recovered a little more.

Alvin was eating food and drinking fluids again, which meant, Alvin, was getting the strength back that he lost, while he was in the coma. Every day, Alvin, thought of the Brittany's kiss that woke him up, out of his coma, and the words she said before she did.

When Alvin told the doctor that a kiss is what woke him from his coma, the doctor didn't believe him. However, when the doctor asked Dave and the other about how Alvin said, a kiss woke him, they all agreed, so the doctor had finally, reached a conclusion, that love, could've possibly been what brought Alvin out of his coma. The nurses look at him, like he's crazy, but he couldn't find no other conclusion.

Three weeks after Alvin's recovery from the coma, he was finally, released. He was so glad that he was free, because the bed he had to stay in was "like sleeping on a rock" to Alvin. The nurse removed Alvin's I.V from his arms, and helped him out of his bed.

Simon and Theodore already retrieved a wheelchair from the hall, seeing there was three leaning against the wall, and was ready to help their oldest sibling out of the bed.

First, Alvin had to put his clothes on. Dave had brought Alvin a red shirt and some blue shorts to wear home. Alvin slipped the provided clothes on, and made his way into the wheelchair, with his sibling's help. However, Brittany guided Alvin out of the hospital, being as gentle as she could.

Alvin may have released, but he still wasn't fully healed, so she had to be careful. She was just glad that Alvin had been given another chance at life, other then having it be cut short. She was so glad that God had answered her prayers, and was thankful for God having mercy on her loved one.

Before leaving the hospital, to go home, Alvin said good bye to Brittany, and he gave her a kiss to comfort her, and tell her that he was going to be okay. She kissed him back, then the couple departed to their homes'. Alvin smiled all the way back to the house.

At the house, he was told to relax for the rest of the day. This annoyed Alvin a little, because he wanted to do something other than lay in bed all day. Regularly, Alvin always wanted to never get out of bed, but ever since he met Brittany, he has left all of his childish behaviour in the past. He couldn't fight Dave or his brothers to not stay in bed, so he just sat in his bed all day, sleeping.

When he was hungry, Simon and Theodore would provide their brother with some snacks and a beverage if Alvin needed one. He was grateful that his brothers were so willing to aid him during his recovery, but what he really wanted was to hold Brittany again and take her out on dates, but he was stuck in a bed.

It was nearing the afternoon, and Alvin just sat out flat on the bed. He heard footsteps outside the door and figured it was Simon or Theodore coming to bring him some afternoon snack, such as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

He sat up in bed, so the food would sit nicely in his lap and make it easier to eat. Dave opened the door to the bedroom and walked over to Alvin's bedside. Dave had no food, but was smiling which cheered Alvin up a little but still made him wonder what Dave was smiling about.

"What is it, Dave? Why are you smiling at me?"

"You have a visitor, and I think they will cheer you up."

"Who?"

"Well, her." Out from behind Dave, was Brittany standing with a smile on her face.

Alvin's heart jumped at the sight of her standing in the light. Her crystal-blue eyes gleamed along with her dress that seemed familiar for some reason. The sight of her beauty reminded Alvin of the day that he first met her.

He was overjoyed to see his beloved before him, and was expressing a smile that showed nothing but pure happiness toward Brittany. She was smiling the same way and continued to smile as she walked over to Alvin. Dave interrupted.

"I'll leave you two alone." Dave turned and walked out of the bedroom, shutting the door as he did.

Alvin and Brittany finally had time alone and could have time to themselves for the rest of the day.

"How are you feeling, Alvin?" Brittany asked softly.

"I'm feeling fine, but for now, Dave said it was best if I get some rest for today, but now, you are here and I feel even better, replied Alvin.

"I'm glad to see you're okay and that I am making you feel better", she said.

"I've been thinking only of you, all day long. I was wanting to see you, hold you, care for you; in other words, I couldn't stand not having you here by my side," said Alvin.

"I've been the same way. That's why I begged Miss Miller to come and see you."

"Well, I'm glad you're here with me."

"I'm glad too."

At that moment, both Brittany and Alvin leaned in and started to kiss. They kissed for over two minutes then finally pulled back away from each other, and both of them were blushing and smiling. Alvin moved over to the far side of the bed and made a spot for Brittany to lay in.

"Come and lay with me."

Brittany didn't hesitate and gladly accepted Alvin's invitation. She slowly placed herself on bed then moved in toward Alvin, trying not to hurt Alvin. Alvin rolled onto his right side and looked into Brittany's eyes, who was laying on her left side.

Alvin and Brittany gripped each others paws and reached inward toward each other. Alvin's and Brittany's soft button noses touched then they both shut their eyes and expressed a smile before falling to sleep happily.

Alvin and Brittany woke up and didn't realize that they had just slept for over two hours; the most sleep that Alvin had received all day. They both stretched out their arms and legs, making groaning sounds as they did. Alvin felt more relaxed than ever before, and was feeling even more better, before he went to sleep with Brittany.

Brittany's paw and his paw were still clenched together, meaning they had not let go of each other during their two-hour sleeping period. This started to remind Alvin of the movie "Titanic" when Jack tells Rose he'll never let go no matter what, meaning he was Jack, and Brittany was Rose.

Alvin was forced to watch "Titanic" with Dave and his brothers, during a family movie night. At the time, Alvin hated watching romantic films; especially Titanic, but now if it's ever on TV, he likes to cuddle with Brittany and watch it with her.

Alvin and Brittany were able to watch Titanic together one month before Alvin was shot and put in a coma. Brittany always liked to watch Titanic, even before she met Alvin; it was one of her favourite romantic films. Now, she loved it even more, because Alvin was her Jack Dawson and she was his Rose Dawson, and just like the movie, Brittany believes Alvin saved her in every way possible.

Alvin giggled a little when Brittany told him that she thought he had saved her in every way possible and told her that he was no Jack Dawson; Brittany didn't care either way.

Despite Dave telling him to stay in bed, Alvin rose from under the covers, along with Brittany and stretched out his arms toward the ceiling. Brittany walked around to Alvin's side of the bed and grabbed his paw softly, then walked him out of the room, to the living room to join the others.

Theodore was watching Meerkat Manor as usual, while Simon was reading a book he had already read a thousand times. Dave was in the kitchen making dinner, which was spaghetti and meatballs.

None of them had realized Alvin was in the room, until Simon caught a small glimpse while turning a page. Simon looked at Alvin with a smile, happy that his brother was walking again, but was also a bit angry because Alvin should be in bed, resting.

"What's up bro?", asked Alvin.

"You should be resting, not walking around the house," replied Simon.

"I am so sick of staying in that bed, and not seeing anybody."

"I know, Alvin, but you should do what the doctor told you to do."

"Sitting on the couch isn't going to kill me, Simon."

Dave had overheard the conversation, and interrupted. "Now, Simon, if Alvin wants to come out and watch TV with the rest of us, it's okay."

Simon looked at Dave with a dumb look on his face. "Okay. If it's okay with Dave, you can stay."

"Thank you, Simon."

Dave interrupted again. "Boys, dinner will be ready in a few minutes. Brittany, do you want to stay for dinner?"

"Sure. Thank you for the generosity, Mr. Seville."

"You are a part of our family, so it's my pleasure."

Brittany smiled, then helped Alvin further into the living room. She slowly, helped Alvin onto the couch, along with Theodore's help. Once Alvin was settled in a comfortable position, Brittany settled herself next to him. Alvin cuddled Brittany and landed soft kisses to her forehead, then watched Meerkat Manor before dinner was ready.

At the dinner table, Dave said a prayer then proceeded with eating. Theodore dived into his plate, and consumed the spaghetti. Simon ate normally, along with Alvin, who was being assisted by Brittany. Alvin told Brittany not worry about him and focus on eating her dinner before it went cold, but Brittany felt as if it would be best to help Alvin eat his dinner, so Alvin didn't bother fighting Brittany anymore and just let her help him eat.

After dinner, Alvin returned to the couch and watched more of Meerkat Manor. Brittany joined him, and cuddled with Alvin once more. Unfortunately, it was starting to get dark, so Brittany would have to depart soon. Alvin was starting to get depressed, because he didn't want Brittany to leave, so he thought of some way that could prevent her from leaving.

"Dave", said Alvin.

"Yes, Alvin," Dave replied.

"Do you think Brittany could stay with me tonight?"

Dave paused. "It's up to Miss Miller, not me. Have Brittany call and see if she can stay."

"Okay." Alvin turned to Brittany and asked her if she wanted to stay. She smiled.

"Of course I want to stay with you."

"Hopefully, Miss Miller thinks the same."

Brittany giggled, then rushed over to the phone to call Miss Miller. The call lasted for over a minute, causing Alvin to worry, then Brittany put the phone back on the table and walked over to Alvin.

"Miss Miller says it's fine, but I need somewhere to sleep."

"You can sleep with me."

"Are you sure that's okay, Alvin?"

"Of course it is."

"Okay, then I can stay."

Alvin wanted to celebrate by jumping in the air, but he decided not to. Instead, he just smiled at Brittany then kissed her.

"What should we do for the rest of the night, Alvin?"

"I don't know. What do you want to do?"

"Truly, I just want to be with you for the rest of the night. Think you can manage that, handsome?"

"Yes, I can, beautiful."

Both of them giggled, then cuddled together on the couch for the remainder of the evening.

Around midnight, Alvin woke up from a dream. He was sweating, due to the room's temperature being very high. He reached over to the other side of the bed to cuddle with Brittany, but strangely, he felt nothing. He panicked and quickly turned to see if Brittany was there, and unfortunately she wasn't.

This caused Alvin to panic, for he didn't know where Brittany was, or if she was even safe. Alvin thought of where she may have gone, then remembered how hot the room was; she probably went outside to get some cool air.

Alvin carefully, rose out of bed and exited the room, trying to be quiet as he did. He walked into the living room, and moved further into the kitchen, where the sliding door to the backyard was. Just as Alvin had thought, right outside the glass door was Brittany standing in the moonlight.

Alvin slid the door open, which caused Brittany to startle. She smiled as Alvin stepped outside, sliding the door shut behind him, and walked until, he was next to her.

"Sorry that it is so hot in that room. It never gets that hot."

"It's okay. I just came out here to cool off, and I hoped you would join me."

"Well, here I am."

Brittany giggled then leaned in more toward Alvin. "I love the moon when it's this bright. It really soothes me."

"I love how it makes you glow in its beauty. Just like the night on the beach; the sun made you glow like a diamond."

"I'll never forget that night as long as I live."

"Neither will I. That's the night that we swore that we would be together forever."

"How long has it been?"

"Since what?"

"That night."

"I don't know. A few months or something like that."

"Too long if you ask me."

"What do you mean?"

"It's been too long since we made love."

"Well, my brother's and Dave are asleep. How about now?"

"Your injuries are not fully healed."

"I don't care. I love you."

"I love you too, but I'm afraid of hurting you."

"You don't have to worry."

"What about protection?"

"I have it right here." Alvin showed Brittany the protection by holding it up in the moonlight.

"Where did you get it?"

"I have some hid from my brothers."

"You planned this?"

"I know you were thinking the same thing, when you said you were willing to stay with me tonight."

"You read me perfect."

Both Alvin and Brittany smiled then collapsed into the bushes next to the house. Alvin undressed himself, until he was completely bare naked, then started to kiss Brittany. The two continued to kiss, then Brittany broke from the kissing and undressed herself, until she was bare naked. Alvin and Brittany resumed kissing then, under the moonlight, they made love.

Brittany and Alvin had finished making love for their second time, and quickly put their clothes back on. Brittany helped Alvin up from the ground, then rose from the bushes back to the back porch. Both of them decided to stay outside for awhile and cool off, instead of rushing back into the house. Alvin and Brittany sat next to each other on the back steps, hold paws and smiling.

"That was wonderful," said Brittany in a soft tone

"Even better then the first time," Alvin replied.

"I'm glad I've done it with you, and only you." Brittany kissed Alvin on his furry cheek.

"Same here, and we will do it more in the future. I promise."

"Let's not rush. We have the rest of our lives ahead of us."

"We will always be together."

"Forever?"

"Forever."

The couple cuddled under the moonlight, while Brittany started to sing low. Alvin joined in on the song while holding Brittany close to his side.
