Nothing After Midnight

Krista Jenkins had an great life. She was great in school, she was great at sports, and she was great at singing. Despite all these accomplishments, she felt that she was just another face in the crowd.

Until she met the one person that would change her life forever.

19. The Concert

A/N: Hey guys! I'm sorry that I never update: it's just that I have three Fanfiction accounts and it's hard to run them all. So, if you want to get more frequent updates, check out my Wattpad @ moony_marauders . I update frequently there, as well as on my joint account with my friends called @ the_six_trash_cans . Anyway, we left off with some Mista moments! Let's get started! TO BE NOTED: NOTHING BAD HAPPENS, but there is some... Stuff.

Krista's POV

As soon as the words leave his mouth, I lose all of my self control.

It was almost as if I was possessed.

I lean forward and kiss him with all of my strength, noticing that I had to stand on the tips of my toes to kiss him now. Mikey seemed startled; he let out a small gasp against my mouth, but immediately began kissing back with more force. His arms snaked around my body, one pressing my head closer to his and the other around my hips, pushing me closer to his body. I suddenly became aware of how close we were.

Mikey began stepping forward, our mouths still connected. We made it all the way to the other side of the room, where he pressed me up against the wall. He laced his fingers through the belt loops of my shorts, making any space left between us disappear. Both of my hands raise and hold his head, willing for us to be even closer.

After a few moments, I break away to breathe, taking deep breaths. Mikey just continued, kissing me forcefully on the mouth. Startled, I become off balance, and before I can process anything, we were both laying on the ground. Mikey still held me close.

"We really shouldn't be doing this..." Mikey whispers, his voice raw and full of want.

But I don't care.

Mikey gingerly brushes his lips across my forehead, slowly going lower. He reaches the hem of my shirt, and shocks me with a strong kiss instead of his soft ones.

"If you want me to stop, now would be a good time-" Mikey begins, but I don't let him finish. Instead, I take fistfuls of his Pikachu shirt and yank him closer, my tongue exploring his mouth. He groans low in his throat.

I was suddenly very conscious of how close we were. His hips were laying across mine, and his beautifully pale face was looking down on me.

Mikey slams his lips back into mine. I was breathing him in, and he was breathing in me. All gentleness was gone: he was now biting me savagely on the lips when we take breaks to get air.

Without hesitation, he reaches down my body, his hands exploring me. They reach the bottom of my shirt, and he slowly raises it.

A pang of resistance strikes me. You can't do this! This is not what you're like! I tell myself, but I can't do anything but let him. The heat of his body hits my stomach as it was halfway up.

I lean in to kiss him again when I hear a creak. Faster than I have ever moved, I jerk away, jumping a few feet. Mikey straightens up to face whoever was entering the room.

It was Calum, an amused look on his face.

"Did I interrupt something?" He smirks, his tan skin shining in the light. I blush furiously.

Mikey just grins at Calum. "Maybe you did. Would you like me to tell Krista all the things you and Alyssa have done, or-"

It was Calum's turn to blush. "The show is in twenty minutes." He mutters. "Come on, Mikey."

Michael stands, straightening out his shirt. His green eyes focus on me for a moment, and then he reaches a hand down to help me up.

"I'll see you after the show." Mikey promises, smiling. I nod quickly, giving a shy grin back.

"You'll do great." I tell him, and without another word, he leaves with Calum.

I don't go with them, since I was already feeling quite embarrassed. I waited a few moments before exiting the room and retracing my steps back to the dressing room.

Only Eva was left in there, sitting on a couch. As soon as I entered the room, she looked up.

"Hey, Krista." Eva says a bit awkwardly. "The boys are getting on stage about now... Want to go to the wings of the stage?"

I nod, keeping my head low as we both walked together to our destination.

"Uh, listen." Eva begins, her voice a bit high-pitched. "Krista, you know, it's been so long since you've seen him, and I heard Calum tell Alyssa about... About what happened in there."

My eyes rise to meet hers, and I squeeze harder into my phone, my knuckles turning white.

"Don't hate me, but we are going home tomorrow for probably the whole summer. And Michael is on tour. I don't want you getting hurt like last time."

She's right. How was I so stupid?

"You're right." I tell her. Eva blinks in surprise. "He's going to be on tour, and I will be on another continent..." I pause, taking a deep breath. "He probably doesn't even love me."

Eva gives me a sad smile. "I wouldn't say that. It would be hard."

Once we get there, I sit in the wings next to Eva.

Then it starts.

The concert was amazing. Seeing all of the boys up there performing brought back happy memories from years past.

But it also made my stomach churn, thinking of how I was going to tell Mikey that what we did earlier was a mistake.

As soon as he hopped off stage, he ran straight to me and held out his arms for me to hug him.

Guilt stabs in my chest as I just sit there, not leaning in to hug him.

"Krista... Is something wrong?" He asks, his green eyes shining with disappointment.

"We need to talk about us." I utter, my stomach growing uneasy. Michael takes a step back, as if I had slapped him.

"What is there to talk about?" He asks in disbelief. "I thought we were fine-"

"Mikey, I still haven't forgotten what you did." My voice rises.

"I told you, I was stupid, and I apologized!" Mikey almost shouts, his eyes wide.

"You did, but how can I know that it won't happen again? I'm leaving for home tomorrow." My voice drops to a whisper. "Do you even love me?"

Michael takes a step back, before dropping his hands in defeat. "I can't believe it. You think I have that little moral in me? Why would I have kissed you if-" He stops, turning away. His hands shook with anger, and his voice was fighting to stay calm. "You should probably leave."

Trembling, I stand and hurry to Eva, who was standing nearby with her mouth gaping. Luke and Ashton were staring, but as soon as I caught their eyes, they looked away. Calum was standing by Alyssa, holding her. Alyssa was looking at me, tears in her eyes.

"...I just wanted to spend time with her..." My ears picked up Alyssa's words as I passed by, still shaking. Guilt tore at my stomach, but I continued walking, making sure not to look behind me.

A/N: So that's the chapter. Don't worry, Mista will heal, but it's tough. Thanks for reading!!! :3
