2. Chapter 2

The steady beeping was all I could hear as I returned slowly from my unconscious state. I tried to move my head, my fingers and any part of my body but I couldn’t. I slowly blinked open my eyes only to be blinded by a bright light. I nearly had a heart attack by the sound of an unknown cheery voice. “Oh Mark, look! She’s waking up!” said that unknown voice. It sounded like a female and she had a weird accent. It was British I think. I heard light footsteps coming towards me and when my eyes adjusted to the bright room I saw two unfamiliar faces. One was a woman with long black hair and dark green eyes. My eyes then trailed over to man standing next to her. He had short brown hair. He was almost bald. He had glasses and a grey, fuzzy moustache. They were both looking down at me with concern in their eyes. “Who are you?” I said trying not to sound rude. “My name is Janet and this is Mark,” she replied. I frowned and felt tears forming in my eyes. “Where am I?” “You’re at the hospital, dear” Janet replied. “Oh,” I replied quietly There was an awkward silence for a few minutes until Mark said “I will go and get the doctor.” “They…They killed my parents,” I said as I started to cry in disbelief. “Who? What? When?” Janet asked. She sounded as speechless and upset as I was. “A two men but I don’t know their names. They killed my parents. They shot them. That’s how you found me on the side of the road. I must’ve pass out. I just ran away,” I managed to say through my sobs. After I calmed down the doctor walked in. “What’s your name?” Mark asked me after I stopped crying. “Hello. My name is Dr Edwards. Can you please tell me your name and date of birth,” the doctor said. “H…Hailey P...Parker. I was b…born on the 12th of September 1998. I am 17 I think,” I responded in an upset voice. "Thankyou Hailey. I have some good news for you. You haven’t broken anything but you do have a little bit of bruising on your rib cage but that should heal very quickly. Other than that I think you can go home tomorrow afternoon. I’ll leave you to rest and I will come and see you in the morning if I have time. Bye” Dr Edwards said and he soon left after he wrote some things down and took my blood pressure. “Thank you Dr Edwards,” Janet said. “You’re welcome,” Dr Edwards said and he left. I started to cry again. Why am I so emotional? Oh probably because my parents died a couple of days ago. I’m allowed to be upset. Right? “Why them. Why me!” I shouted and cried at the same time. “I’m not sure, dear but we will sought this out on way or another. I think I know how to solve this but for now you need your rest,” Janet said and so I fell asleep very soon. Feedback????
