Caraphernelia: A broken-heart disease whenever someone leaves you but leaves all their things behind.

Cara Neil Washinton, a 17 year old girl with big dreams. She turning 18 soon and she's always wanted to be an artist, she's done art all throughout her life, all during high school she entered art contests, winning first place almost always. Then her first day of college comes and all those dreams begin to change when she meets a certain someone.

4. Different

Cara couldn't take it, she wasn't that mean. This has happened to her and she couldn't let it happen to Vic, no matter how much she disliked him.

"Well, actually, yeah," Vic looked down in defeat. "We're-"

"Here for our anniversary." Cara cut him off and he looked at her with relief and a small smile.

"Yeah," he nodded, "our one month anniversary. Can you believe it? Cara and I have lasted longer than you and I ever did, Vanessa. Well, without breaking up only to get back together the next day. Cara and I haven't broken up once." He smiled.

Vanessa rolled her eyes. "Please! You guys probably haven't even had sex."

"Yes we have! And guess what? She's better than you'll ever be." Vic cut Cara off. Her eyes widened at his words.

She had to go along with it now, it was too late to turn back. "Vic," Cara narrowed her eyes at him, "sweetheart, I think we should keep our private lives, private." She spoke through gritted teeth.

He glanced at her and knew he went too far but he can't back what just left his mouth so he left it be and politely asked Vanessa to leave their table. Once she was gone Vic received a kick in the shin from the other side of the table. "Ow."

"Really Vic?"

"I'm sorry I panicked."

"Yeah, that makes it so much better." Cara sighed, leaning back in her seat, she dropped her head and stared at her hands in her lap.

"I'm sorry." Vic said again, doing the same thing Cara was doing only she was going it to hide anger, he was doing it in shame, or embarrassment, hell maybe both. "If it makes you feel any better, I bet you are great." Vic said smirking. Cara's head jerked up at his words and her eyes widened.

After a large, deep breath, Cara was calm again. "I wouldn't know." She said quietly.

Vic was completely shocked, to say the least, this beautiful woman in front of him remained innocent and untainted. He paused for a moment, before finally speaking. "Cara, how old are you?"

"17. You?" She replied and Vic lost it, not noticeably, but he fucking lost it. All those dirty thoughts he had of tearing her a part. The beautiful woman in front of him was a girl, not a woman, and a goddamn child for fuck's sake. She looks older than she really is. "Vic?" Cara snapped her fingers in the boy's face to get his attention, pulling him out of his daydream.

"Huh? What?"

"How old are you?" She asked again.

"Um, I-I, 24." Vic finally answered and Cara was the one of who lost it then. But she lost it noticeably. He looks younger than he really is.

"24?" Cara stuttered out.

"Yeah." Vic breathed.

"I thought you were younger." Cara laughed.

Vic couldn't understand how Cara was so calm about this, he wondered if it was because she couldn't see or ever know his thoughts, "Nope." He replied popping the p.

After the two were done with their coffees, they both went to Vic's car. Cara could tell something was different after they talked about their ages. He wasn't acting as... flirty as before. It made her wonder, had she done something wrong? Was it something she said? She wanted to know, no scratch that, she needed to know. So she asked him, once they were in the car of course, she didn't want to cause a scene in the parking lot. "Vic?" She said and he looked at her making a noise to show he was listening. "Did I do something wrong?"

Vic was silent for a moment before sighing, he just wanted to make the words come out right. "No, it's just, I mean, I'm like 8 years older than you."

"And?" Cara asked. She didn't see a problem with it. It's not against the law to be friends.

"I like you, Cara, but it's wrong."

"No, it not! Age is just a number and I like you too. It's not wrong to be friends with someone younger than you."

Vic only nodded as that word stuck with him. 'Friends.' He started his car, "Where do you live?" Cara have him her address and Vic took her home.

Cara flopped back on her bed. How did this boy make her feel this way? Why did he make her feel this way? And why was he so upset? Her and Ashton's birthday is two days away anyway. She could wait that long before talking to him again.
