“It seems to me then some women really need it then don’t they Jackie laughed.”

“Yes son; some more than others. Everyone seeks the fountain of youth.”

“What is that?

“It’s a name dreamt up by someone for a potion that people can take that would mean they would never age with years.”

“Well if it can be found I will find it dad.”

“You keep looking son who knows you might just be the one who finds the secret of youth.”

His father washed the dishes then placed them on the drainer then settled down to read his book; this is a good story son.

“Yes I read it when I came back from the shops before I put the tea on.”

“You did; well what’s it about?

Well where are you up to?

“I’m on page seventy okay I will tell you what happens up to page seventy then I won’t tell what happens next as it will spoil it for you.”

“Billy looked at his son as he recited word for word the book as if the pages were in front of him.”

“How do you do that?

“Do what?

You read the book like you were reading the pages in front of you.”

“Yes I can do that; because I remember everything I see.

“You can?

“Yes I can turn the pages of the book and read it very fast.

“What, by just looking at it?

“Billy got up then took the Daily Mirror newspaper out of his pocket. He knew his son hadn’t read it because he had bought it this morning he opened the paper and asked his son to look at it.

Then he closed the paper and then held it up so that his son couldn’t see it and asked him to tell him what was written.

Jackie recited every word that was written down word for word.”

Billy put down the newspaper and looked at his son.”

“Do you realise what you can do?

“Yes Jackie smiled; I can read a book in seconds instead of hours.”

“Do you understand every word that you read too?”

“Yes because I read the dictionary in Mrs Backhouse’s room. If I’m unsure of a word I just look it up in my head.”

“So you memorised a whole dictionary.”

“Do you want me to recite it for you?

“No son, I believe you.”

“Does Mrs Backhouse know what you can do?

“Yes; she told me that if people knew what I can do; then they would take me away from you.”

“Yes; I see what she means.”

“You have a special gift Jackie and people maybe jealous of that. Mrs Backhouse is right son; you must never tell anyone what you can do.
