That afternoon Jackie sat and wrote over three hundred pages on a story called “Mission to the Moon” which explained about the making of the rocket; the control panel and how the fuel would burn and at what rate.

He even mentioned how the astronauts would breathe out of special oxygen tanks. strapped to their backs. Jackie made little drawings of the rocket and the spacesuits.

Jackie explained how clues were left for the men that showed there were other life forms on other planets in the solar system.

He even knew that apart from oxygen that water was the most valuable commodity.

Emily Backhouse took the story home to read and was fascinated at what she was reading. The things that were coming out of this young boys mind were beyond anything she or even some scientists wouldn’t have even thought about.

Emily couldn’t show anyone the story because if the government knew Jackie had this capability in his mind what else could they extract from him.

Jackie did his shopping for his father after school then heated up the remainder of the soup they had the day before which always’ tasted better the day after.

He emptied the hot ashes from the grate then topped up the coal bucket and placed it beside the fire. His Father returned and smiled when he saw his son.”

“I read a good book this afternoon dad.”

“Did you? “ What was it called?

“It was “The Count of Monte Cristo.”

“Your reading must really be coming along.”

“Oh it is dad I want to join the big library; I can get more than one book out at one time that way.

Okay I will take you tomorrow its late night.

Have you finished kidnapped already?

“Yes dad.”

“Son the story is over three hundred pages and I only gave you it last night. You couldn’t have.

Jackie explained the whole story to his father who sat in his chair scratching his head.

“When his father had washed up he asked him about his day at school as they were eating.

“It was good dad we did spelling and I wrote a story.”

“How was your day dad?

“Well. We lost one of the ponies today; “Jingles” he was 17 years old.

“He had a heart attack I think. At least it was quick. That’s the way I want to go.”

“Don’t talk like that dad; you have loads years yet to live.”

I am going to find out about aging in the medical books in the library. Maybe I can stop or even delay the aging process.”

“If you could solve that one you would be a rich man.”

“Every women in the world wants’ to stay young looking son; that is why when they get older they wear make up and dye their hair when it begins to go grey.
