Everything I Didn't Say

All my life I've been bullied by Luke Hemmings and his friend group. I don't know why, and quite frankly I could care less. I could care less about him, his friends, or his social life. All I care about is my family. Family is everything to me. Since that's all I've ever had. But mess with my family, mess with me. What happens when the guy I thought I got away from in high school, becomes part of my new family? Read my story to find out..

29. Chapter 27

Luke's P.O.V

A few months have went by now and you could say that Adeline and I are as happy as could be. Well with the exception of having to sneak around of course, but other than that, we're pretty happy. She's everything I've ever dreamed of. All I've ever needed. She keeps me sane, but makes me insane all at the same time.

It's that Christmas time of the year again, where everyone is in the holiday spirit, being as jolly as they can be. Adeline and I have found a place where we meet everyday at a certain time. I sit there waiting for her in the hot summer sun. I normally get here earlier than her, but this time I was a little late. 6:00 was the time we were supposed to meet, but I normally get here around 5:45. My only dilemma is that I got here at 6 on the dot, and its now 6:30 and still no sign of her.

More time goes by and I start sweating, not because of this heat wave, but because of my nervousness. I pounce my knee up and down on the picnic table we had drug out here, and rapidly check my watch. Just when I'm about to lose hope, a beautiful short smiling girl comes walking down the field. Her hair glistens in the sunlight, and the wind blows her lose muscle tank tightly around her body.

"Why do you look so worried?" She asks once we end a blissful kiss.

"I thought you weren't coming." I say sadly. After everything, my worst fear is her leaving me.
"No silly." Addy giggles. "My parents were holding me back. They kept wanting to spend more time together." She sighs.

"I know how you feel. Ever since my mum met you guys, she keeps making us do family activities every weekend. I don't even know how I find the time to meet you here on the weekends." I lightly laugh.

"Hey, it's good to spend time with family." Addy says, but it sounds more like she's trying to convince herself.

"What's wrong?"

Adeline sighs, but doesn't answer. She looks off into the distance, letting her eyes linger on something before she blinks away and sighs again. "It's just- I used to love being with my family nonstop. I used to love the fact that they were my only best friends. But now that I've gotten so close to you and the guys, I just want to break away a little. I want to feel free and be my own person, but I feel guilty because I feel like they're holding me back."
"You don't have to feel that way. It's good to have other friends that aren't your family, and I'm sure they'll understand." I give her the best advice I can, wrapping my arm around her waist, pulling her closer to me.

"Thanks, Luke." She crookedly smiles.

"Anything for you, my queen." I smirk.

Addy smiles back. "I've been thinking about something." She says.

"Okay.." I nod to her.

"Well I heard that in America their Christmases were cold and they get snow. And seeing as we've never had a cold snowy Christmas..." She drags out, letting me piece together what she was trying to say.

"You want to go to America for Christmas?" I question in awe. She grins, her eyes filled with hope. "Adeline, I don't know.."

"Oh come on, Luke! It will be fun, and plus I've got a whole bunch of savings from past jobs that I've never spent, so I've got enough to cover both of us." She exclaims.

"Your not paying for a whole trip. Plus what about after we get to America? First of what state will we be in? Then what are we going to do for money to live off of while we'r-"

"Your thinking too much. We'll just figure it out as we go. Right now we can work on getting jobs so that we can save up more money. I can cover our plane tickets for the way there. I've already looked into it. Now we wait and see for the rest of it. Trust me if you over think this, it's not going to be fun."

I think for a moment and breath out. "Okay." I nod.

"Okay?" She asks to make sure she heard me right.

"Okay. " I nod again, laughing at her excitement.

Adeline squeals and wraps her hands around my neck and places her lips on mine. I kiss back, and deepen the kiss, sliding my tongue along her bottom lip, but she pulls away. "There'll be plenty of that for later." She smirks.

"Adeline?" I ask, remembering something that we should probably think about.

"What do we tell our parents? They wouldn't let us go if they knew we were going together."

"Your 21 years old, Luke, and I'm 20. They may not accept us being together under their roof, but they can't not let us go. We're not in high school anymore."

"Thank God." I chuckle, pecking her on the mouth before letting her go.

I think the hardest part about leaving this spot at night is the fact that I wont be able to see her again until this time tomorrow. I'm not allowed to talk about her or even think about her until this time again. Soon it will be different and we'll be in a different country with different people, and nobody to deny our love.
