Bobby left Alex with Simon whilst he made several calls to check on his business.

Irene had breakfast with Jennifer and Robert before sitting in the drawing room reading the newspapers. This was something never afforded to her back home she thought. In only a week she had seen a different way of life that only a few ever get the chance to see and she was going to grab it with both hands. She wondered what her friends Betty, Agnes, Annabelle, and Ivy would make of all this; would they be able to cope with all this wealth or would they stick where they were amongst the squalor and poverty. Would they be able to keep their feet on the ground?

“Up to now Irene hadn’t taken a thing for granted with Bobby or his family but would she six months down the line when the new life style changes kicked in?

“That is why that she must keep returning to North Shields to remind hersaelf of the life she once had. She wanted a better life for Mollie definitely; and she hoped that Mollie would make a life for herself here and meet someone decent and treat her right.

Later that afternoon Mollie arrived with Colin and Irene thanked him for looking after her.

“It’s been a real pleasure Ms Johnson; Mollie is a good student.

“I’m sure she is Colin and we will see you again no doubt.”

“Are we leaving mam?

“Yes, we leave at four o’clock today Mollie.”

“Can I not stay with Colin and Carol until you come back?

“No, we have to visit Granma and Granddad.”

“Hopefully we will be back by the weekend.”

“But mam, that’s ages and I will miss Cassie and Bella.”

“I’m sure that Colin will take care of them until we get back.”

“Come on you have got to meet Bobby’s parents; mind your manners when you go in.”

Mollie walked into the big hall way then followed her mother into the sitting room.

Oh what a beautiful child you have said Jennifer as she stood up out of her chair and came towards Mollie and smiled. Where have you been hiding?

“I’ve been helping Colin on the farm all week.

“I am going to be a farmer when I grow up.”

“People change as they get older Mollie you know.”

“I will never change my mind; I love farming and the animals.”

“Its not very lady like though is it?

“I don’t want to be a lady Mrs Wilkinson; I want to own my own farm and run it.”

Robert smiled and told Jennifer that she was not going to win this argument.

“She reminds me so much of my son; he had his heart set on starting this pickle business and he never deviated from his goal.”

“He hasn’t done too badly out of it, has he Jennifer?

“I have to agree with you there.”

Bobby returned and told them that the chauffeur was ready to take them back.
