“No Mr Ross.

“Then we will have ice cream as well.

The Rolls pulled in at the service station restaurant and Mollie took hold of both her mother and Bobby’s hand and they walked through the door. Bobby Ross was the happiest man on the planet at that time.

Bobby stood with Mollie at the counter and ordered the meal and then lifted Mollie up so that she could see all the ice creams.

“Now you choose which one you would like Mollie.”

“Could I have that one with the big cherry on top Mr Ross?

“You most certainly can.”

“Look! Mollie pointing to the shelf; “They sell your pickled onions here.

“Yes they do, don’t they.

Bobby pulled out his brown leather wallet that would have choked a horse then gave the girl a twenty pound note.

“We will have our ice cream after our fish and chips and could I have a jar of those onions please.”

“Yes Mr Ross.”

“I will bring your order over Mr Ross please take a seat.”

The woman went into the kitchen to tell the manager that Mr Ross from Ross’s Pickles was in the restaurant.

She showed him the Rolls Royce parked on the forecourt.

“You didn’t charge him for his food did you?

“Yes I did.”

 “Get the till receipt quick.”

The woman came back out then told Mr Ross that their meal wouldn’t be long and that it was on the house. She gave Bobby Ross his money back then walked smartly back to the kitchen.”

The cod and chips they had were delicious and both ate a pickled onion from the jar each.

The Ralph Mason the chef came out and introduced himself then asked if they were enjoying their meal.

“Thank you; it was first class.”

“You are welcome anytime in our Restaurant Mr Ross.

Bobby got up and shook Ralph’s hand. “Have you tried our Pickled Cabbage and eggs Ralph?

“Actually I haven’t; sorry.”

“Then you must; just a moment.”

Bobby asked the chauffeur if he would go into the boot and bring out two large jars of pickled Eggs and Cabbage.

Bobby walked back into the restaurant and placed the jars on the counter.

“There you are Ralph you can try those and if your customers like them you can order direct from our factory.

How much do I owe you Sir?

“No charge they are on the house.

“Thank you; you are so kind.”
