Zlo’s POV:

I was standing at the top of a skyscraper, a floor of glass the only thing that supported me. I broke into a cold sweat as I looked at the ground far, far below. It was so high up, and I could feel the floor giving way beneath my feet. Then it happened. My body fell through the glass, thousands of the small shards lodging into my body. I screamed as I hurtled to the ground, my body twisting this way and that.

I collapsed to the ground, surprised to find that I wasn’t dead. Then something horrible happened. All of my blood started to evaporate. I stood up shakily and tried to walk, but I was caught in a gigantic spider web. Not spiders! Anything but spiders! I thought wildly, struggling to get out of the web. I heard the sound of a ginormous creature coming towards me, and I trembled with fear.

I screamed as the spider dug its monstrous fangs into my side, sucking out my insides. I could see my intestines falling to the ground, the monster’s powerful jaws crushing my bones. I was nothing but a husk now. The web fell away and I was locked inside of a pitch black room. I felt trapped, and I could see the walls slowly closing in.

I thought I heard someone behind me, and I felt panicked. The walls closing in, the dark, it was all too much. My nose and ears broke with a loud pop and blood rushed down my face, obscuring my vision.

The walls closed in on me completely and I was crushed between the walls. Blood splattered on the ground, and I howled in pain, still alive. Now, I was in a seemingly bottomless pit, falling and falling and falling.

I fell to the bottom of the pit, only to see that I was surrounded by thousands of verminous cobras. They all looked at me and hissed, bearing their fangs. I backed up against the pit wall, but I knew it was no use. I breathed heavily as they swayed back and forth, hissing at me. They all pounced, and the venom of a thousand fangs pushed into me, and my body threatened to explode from the pressure.

Then, the snakes disappeared and I sighed with relief. But not for long. First it was one, than ten, then hundreds, then thousands of bugs crawled down on all sides of the pit, making their way towards me slowly. Their twitching little legs and snapping sounds sent chills down my spine.

They crawled into my mouth, into my nose, and into my ears. I could feel the hot, wet, sticky blood flowing out of every single pore. They pecked at my eyes, gorging them out until they were just empty sockets. I tried to scream, but I was choking on thousands of insects.

I felt them crawling in my stomach and inside my throat. I couldn’t see; my eyes were gone completely; I was blind. I was in the dark. The bugs began to devour my flesh, and tears streamed out of my empty, bloody sockets. It was all over. I was dead.

Hedvika’s POV:

“Hmm, interesting. Very interesting. There are so many things we could use against him,” The Shadow hissed, stroking my soft hair. I shuddered as his fingers touched the back of my neck, sending chills down my spine. I stared at Zlo’s twitching, sobbing form. A trickle of blood began to flow from his nose, and is eyes shot open.

“NO!!!” he screamed, pressing himself against the wall. “Everywhere…they’re everywhere,” he sobbed, hugging his knees and rocking back and forth. It pained me to see him so afraid, so helpless. I reached out my hand to comfort him, but The Shadow slapped my hand away.

“Leave him. We have more in store for him and his friend tomorrow,” The Shadow said, kissing me on the cheek and sweeping out of the room. I blushed slightly and turned back to Zlo.

“Please, don’t let him hurt me anymore!” he whimpered, clutching onto my leg. I kicked him away in disgust and turned around to walk out the door.

“W…where’s Alex?” Zlo asked fearfully. A cruel smile tugged at my lips and I turned back to him. “You’ll see.” Soon enough.
