Hurdles

Our relationship. It wasn't sonnet inspiring, the story of it won't make thousands want to listen. But it was complicated and it was special to us. It was certainly more than I bargained for from just seeing a boy with a football helmet across the room.

48. Forty eight

Harry wakes me up by kissing my cheek. When I open my eyes I see it got dark out so I must have been asleep for hours but I'm still in the exact same place.

"Hey." he says softly. "Your mum's asking for you to get home."

I sigh, still feeling sleepy. "Okay. You didn't move me all day."

"I didn't want to wake you." he pushes the hair out of my face. "You ready to go?"

I narrow my eyes. "You trying to get rid of me?"

He laughs, shaking his head. "That's the last thing I want to do." I smile, tilting my head up and he chuckles, kissing me. "I missed you, pretty."

"I missed you." I smile again. "I'll call you in a bit."

I'm a little worried that I don't have any urge to apologise to my friends. Before, I wouldn't have even gotten into the argument but if I did, I would have apologised the same day but I just don't feel the need to. I don't want to apologise, I don't think I'm in the wrong and I think what's in my mind is that at the end of the day, I've got Harry who loves me and I want to focus on that, not some argument. I do feel bad though. This isn't like me but at the same time, I've got too much pride to tell them they're right when I truly don't believe they're right anyway.

I call Harry later on.

"Hey pretty." he says when he picks up and I laugh.

"You know, I'm kind of obsessed with that nick name. Very good for my self esteem."

He chuckles. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing, you?"

"Nothing. And by nothing, do you mean contemplating your entire friendship with your life long friends?"

"One, they aren't life long." I say. "And two, you're super annoying when you do this."

"Do what?"

"Get all involved."

"Well good, I want to be annoying. Maybe then you'll listen to me." he says and I can hear the smile in his voice.

"You're being so annoying I'm actually going to leave now. Bye loser."

"Bye pretty." he says and this time I know he said it to annoy me and I can't help laughing.

"Bye loser."
