The Celestials

Area 51 is a secret government institution that is meant to hold and hide half aliens, also known as children of cosmetic powers. There they are experimented on and trained to become special agents for specific missions. As more children mysteriously show up dead, a half alien girl attempts to regain her memories through switching realities to find the killer.

6. Nathan

They were completely caught off guard. Why did Gilmore withhold this information to them? Did he simply not know about the snow beasts? Knowing the Professor, it was highly unlikely that he didn't know.

He could hear Hailley let out a hiss. Nathan was so flooded with anger he hadn't realized he was digging his fingers into her. He quickly ceased and collected himself.

"This is good," he said aloud. "Let's assume that these things are some sort of guardians. That means we're close."

Nathan gained eye contact with Hailley. "Go ahead and and absorb some of my power. I'm giving you permission."

He felt a slight hesitation before feeling a slight energy drop. Slowly Haiylee's weight was lifted from his arms.

"Are you able to fly alright?"

"Yea, I just need to get used to it. It's been a while since I absorbed any flight abilities."

Nathan gave her a nod and glanced towards Aaliyah. Her warm, hazel eyes were the beast with a calculating expression. He wished he could look at her longer.

She turned her head.

"Did you hear me? This beast could be some sort of protector. There could be more."

"MORE?" Alex whined.

"We need to find a safe platform and rethink our strategy. Staring at it won't do anything." Nathan continued.

"Anything to get me out of this cold!" Alex added.

Aaliyah wasn't responding. She had a blank expression on her face and it worried him. Was she back in that place?

"Aaliyah!" he interjected.

Her eyes quickly met his with an irritated expression. "Yes I heard you."

"Then why didn't you answer me?" Nathan retorted. "You haven't said one word to me since we were in Gilmore's office!"

"Maybe it's because of whenever I go on missions with you, you whine about me be there!" she argued.

"You're still hallucinating! What if something happened?"

"I told you I can take care of myself! I have gotten along fine without you before!"

"We should really find a place to rest. All this shouting won't solve much. If anything, it will attract more of those beasts." Hailley mentally mediated.

Both gave each other an angered look before listening to Hailley.

(Sorry it's so short! There'll be a longer one soon! I apologize for the wait as well. Exams suck. Comments are appreciated!)
