Too Young

If I'm too young to fall in love, why do you keep running through my brain? If I'm too young to know anything, why do I know that in just not the same. // Original product of Olivia Turner. Do not copy or share without permission. ©2015

2. Two

"Alright, I'm so tired of school" I yank at my hair.

I'm finishing some math problems in the car on my way to school.

"Sweetie, it's the third week. How are you already fed up with it?"

I prop my feet up onto the dashboard, "I just am"

"Today's Friday, so why don't you relieve some stress by having someone over tonight?"

"I'll ask" I shut my math book and shove it into my black backpack.

"But your father and I are going out for date night around six" she turns left.

"Well, where are you going to go?" I ask.

"Probably to dinner and a movie or two"

"Two?" I laugh.

"Yes! Cause you know how you want to see so many new movies but it's hard to see all of them? Well if we see two at a time, we'll have one of those scratched off the list"

"I like the way you think" I open the door after realizing she's in the school car line.

I step out of the van and grab my backpack and sling it over my back.

"I love you baby girl! Have a good day!"

"I love you too! Have a good day also!" I wave and walk into school.

I walk down the hallway to my locker and see Aaron.

A kid drops his books so I turn to help pick them up.

When I look back, Aaron's gone.

I sigh and arrive at my locker.

I hang my bag inside the locker and take my math book and utensils out.

We're learning geometry. Help.

"You take your finger on the protractor and go from 0 degrees to which other degree the angle stops at"

"This is so boring" my friend Kylie laughs.

"Kylie, do you want to come over tonight?"

"I can't. I have a soccer tourney tomorrow and last minute practice tonight"

"Alright" I rest my chin in my hands.

After five periods of boredom, it's time for lunch.

I walk into the lunch room and Aaron's in there with some of his friends.

I walk over and sit at the lunch table with my friends.

I'm so busy laughing that I don't acknowledge the fact that I'll be home alone all night.

After school, I have to stay an extra hour to wait for my mom to pick me up from work.

I go to my science classroom and begin some of my homework.

Aaron passes the room so he can go to the gym. He has basketball practice.

I leave my books and bags in there and run out of the room.

I see him barely around the corner and shout his name.

"Oh hey" he turns to me, "Where'd you come from?"

"I was in the science room doing homework" I rub my left arm awkwardly.

"That's always fun. You should do a sport"

"I do rec softball"

"Well, maybe one for the school" he implies.

I smile and nod, "I'll think about it"

"Well I'll leave you to your work"

"Wait, Aaron" I say.

"Yes?" He laughs.

"I kind of have to be home alone all night and well, my mom said I could have someone over..."

"I'll see if I can. I'll let you know after practice"

"Okay, thank you" I wave goodbye and walk back into the room.

I take a sheet.

I slide my hoodie on.

I got chills while talking to him. I don't know why I get so nervous at school.
