Top of the Charts

My problem... With top chart songs of today. Some are good. Some are okay. The majority?... Oh the majority have so many issues with them that it may take a whole Movella to list. Note: This is having a rant at the songs and artists themselves, not the people who listen to them. You listen to what you want, I'm not gunna hate on you.

4. The Number 1's

What does it mean to be in the top of the charts these days? I mean really, does it mean anything? You get to Number 1 with over 50 million downloads and plays on the radio! Wow! Incredible! No! Because then who's going to listen to it after that? They upload it to their iPod for one week, then get rid of it. Done. Finished. That song's fame is gone and wiped off of the planet. So if your song gets to Number 1 today, it means nothing. Nothing at all. Your song will be binned off to the scrap yard, and the people will move on from it.

Let's take a look at some songs that will stay with us forever that made it to number 1:

Mr. Brightside - The Killers

Goodbye Mr. A - The Hoosiers

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

American Idiot - Green Day

Those songs we will always remember the words to, and will always love. And there are many, many more like them, that we hear on the radio and recognise instantly and dance to. Now let's name just SOME of the songs of today that made Number 1, and have been so HEAVILY over played that quite frankly, I just hate now because of the amount of times I have heard them over and over and over and over:

Happy - Pharrell Williams

My Love - Route 94

La La La - Naughty Boy

Thrift Shop - Macklemore

I'm sure all of you recognise those songs because of how overly played they were! Not because you liked them...
And that's another thing, when you're song hits Number 1, say bye bye to being ever heard from again! Who the hell ever heard from Pharrell Willams ever again? Did anyone, literally anyone, hear another one of his songs? What about Route 94? Did we ever hear from him again?

And you know what, I loved the song All Of Me by John Legend. It was just so... romantic. So passionate and loving that I couldn't help myself but to listen to it over and over. That was a REAL love song, and it did make Number 1! Hooray! But after that, John Legend was never heard from again... I listened to his other songs and they were just as romantic and awesome! And I was thinking "Why don't these get to Number 1 as well?" I didn't get it... Where as with the Hoosiers, they had another famous song! Look, let me name those same artists who we will remember with just as good other songs.

Human - The Killers

The Hoosiers - Worried About Ray

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

I rest my case... (Any names you don't recognise, look them up on YouTube - the tune will job your memory.)
