4. 9/11

I am sorry I couldn't post this on 9/11 but it's because my wifi went down... anyway here it is.....

The way I found out about what happened to my aunt seems like a fog to me.

I remember waking up from my bedroom.l was super happy that my aunt planned out a play date with my cousins. I haven't seen them in forever.

I woke up my parents as if it was Christmas time and  I wanted to open the presents old saint Nick brought me.

My parents woke up in a trance. They seemed very exhausted but I didn't care.

I jumped on their bed so excited.

"Mommy! Daddy! Let's go!! I Don't want to be late to see auntie Jamie!" I told them..

At that time I didn't know they were annoyed that I woke them up so early.

Aunt Jamie was my mother's only sister. They have always been so close, mostly because they are twins. My aunt has 3 daughters.

One of them was 14 at the time.

My favorite cousin, Rebecca, was only a few days older than me.

Another one of them was just a few months old.

"Go get ready." My father tells me.

I rush and get ready. I didn't even have time for my bubble bath!

I decided to put on my school uniform.

"I'm ready mommy!" I exclaim.

My mother picks me up, only wearing her undergarments and twirls me around. I start to giggle.

"I'm dizzy mommy!" I laugh.

My mother puts me down and I am left trying to balance myself on the ground.

"Your father and I will start getting ready. Why not you go and make yourself some cereal?" My mother whispers as she lightly taps my nose.

I nod very quickly.

I rush down the stairs and  take an adventurous journey to the top cabinet to take my favorite cereal. Then I open the fridge to get some milk.

I neatly put cereal in my bowl. When it came to pouring in the milk....

Let's just say there was a huge mess.

I ate my cereal very quickly.

All of a sudden I feel extremely sleepy and decide to take a nap.

....

"Wake up honey." I hear a voice telling me.

I realize it's my mother...

I slowly start to get my senses back.

I notice my mother crying and my father holding my mother tight.

"Is mommy okay?" I ask my daddy.

My father does not reply. He only looks at my mother.

"Honey... We are not going to visit your auntie anytime soon..." My father starts to explain. I knew that he was trying not to cry.

"Why?" I ask them and the point of crying because they were crying...

AUTHOR'S NOTE: THAT IS BASICALLY HOW I FOUND OUT.... I WOULD RATHER NOT CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION THAT I HAD WITH MY PARENTS THAT DAY BECAUSE IT WAS EXTREMELY PERSONAL. I WAS NOT EVEN 10 YEARS OLD WHEN 9/11 HAPPENED SO I NEEDED SOME HELP FROM MY MOTHER TO GO IN SOME DETAIL  FOR WHAT HAPPENED THAT DAY.

In loving memory of my aunt Jamie. This story was made because of you... I miss you. :(
