8. Chapter 7 || Finding out

Today was Saturday, this meant Lily could spend more time with Ollie. She went downstairs to see her mum making breakfast. Lily grabbed her coat and went out the door after hearing her mum say. "Aren't you going to have some breakfast?" Her mother asked. "No thanks, I'm going out with Chloe and that. We'll probably buy something while we're out." she lied and left. It had been raining the day before, It was starting to rain heavy now, Lily was covered in raindrops. She found the same house she had been returning to, with vines all over it. Lily went to the front door and knocked on it before Ollie came to the door with a smile plastered on his face. "Hi." Lily greeted. "Hey." Ollie replied with a small wave. "I have something planned, C'mon." Ollie grabbed Lily's wrist and took her up to his room. "I hope you like it, I'm not sure if you're the type of person to enjoy this." He said opening a draw with a very old book in it. "Just so you know, I haven't shown this to anyone in a very long time, I'm only showing this to you." He said holding Lily's hand. She smiled to reassure him everything was okay. The thunder was getting louder and louder. A huge bolt of lighting cracked causing the two to jump. "Ollie?" Lily spoke, looking around frantically to find him. then she saw he was at the end of his bed, with his legs folded up and his chin touching his knees. His entire body was shaking with fear and he buried his face in his hands. It looked like he was crying. The same woman from yesterday came in, "Lily, can I talk to you?" She asked. Ollie must of told her Lily's name Lily thought to herself and got off the bed. they went out into the hallway. "You are Ollie's only friend, he has never had any friends come over in years nor has he spoken to any kids since he was thirteen. He may seem like a young boy on the outside but on the inside, he has a lot of issues he needs to deal with, it all happened when-." Lily cut the woman off "I don't want to hear it, I would rather wait for Ollie to be ready and tell me than to hear it from someone else, its unfair to him." Lily said causing the older woman confusion. "Lily, you can come back." Ollie said grabbing her wrist and taking her back to his room. "What did she say?" He asked her tightening his grip on her wrist. "Don't listen to Eliza, she tends to talk to much." He sighed. "She is probably worried." Lily said. He started to cry. "Just please don't go." He pleaded. "It's okay, I won't. But could you tell me what's wrong?" She asked. "I'm scared." He replied biting his nails. "Of the storm?" Lily asked. She was terrified of it herself. He gave her a slight nod. "If it makes you feel better, I am too." Lily replied. she looked up to see Ollie with his arms open, next thing she knew. He was giving her a tight hug. "Thank you for staying." He said. It was silent for a few minutes until Ollie spoke again. "Lily, I'm sorry for acting like a baby, will you stay next to me?" He asked. "You don't have to apologise for anything, its okay to be afraid." Lily said. He held Lily's hand again as he opened the book. "My mum used to read this to me, it was my favourite book. will you read it with me?" Ollie asked. Lily agreed and they both read the book together until his hands started to tremble. "I'm so sorry, Mum would read this to me every night. Every story was interesting and happy." He said bawling his eyes out. "They knew, they knew I hated getting separated from my mum so they made her stay back at work. She comes back at one am and leaves and four am for work. She stays at friends houses that are closer to work, I never see her anymore. The world it too dangerous. "Is that why you don't leave your house?" Lily asked. Ollie nodded, "Mum always said don't leave the house without me." he replied. "I'm sorry for invading your life the way I did. Sorry for pressuring you to tell me about your secrets." She sighed. "Hey, don't say sorry. I appreciate your interest. I didn't think I would have a friend like you." He smiled. "I just wish there were more people in the world like you, the world needs more people like you Ollie." She said. "But I don't need the world, I only need one person in the world. And that's you." He said. "We've only known each other for a week." Lily giggled. "I know, I just really like you." He stated. "I like you too." She said. "But I really like you, not just as a friend." Ollie hinted. Lily started blushing. "It sounds cheesy but, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me." He said, helping Lily up since it was time for her to go. "Thanks for telling me your story, I know it was hard for you." She said. "It's okay, can I show you something?" Ollie asked. "Yeah-" Lily was going to say something else but Ollie's lips touched hers. they moved together in sync before departing. "Bye Lily." Ollie winked and walked inside. Lily just stood there. wide eyed not sure what to do next.
