Call Me Daddy • C.H

"My name is Calum, but you can call me daddy."

"How about fuckboy instead?"

14. Ch.14 • Are You Stalking Me

This chapter is really just setting up the next one so I'm sorry that it's kinda dull

It was now Monday morning which sadly meant I had to return to school, and as usual it was painfully boring. In Math I got in trouble for playing Crossy Road instead of reading from my textbook and in science our teacher gave us a lecture so dull I nearly fell asleep.

My other classes had all been boring as well but it was now time for the class that always managed to be a little fun.

I walked into Humanities just a minute before the bell rang which gave me just enough time to sit in my regular seat next to Calum. On most days he didn't show up until class had been going for a few minutes, but I guess today was different.

"Hi." I greeted.

I placed my books on our shared desk and sat in my chair. Calum had turned to slightly face away from me, and we shared an awkward silence. I didn't know what I should say and he didn't seem to either. Luckily the bell rang just then, saving me from saying something that would just cause the situation to be even more awkward.

Our principal began the announcements that always seemed to go on forever. She told us about how there was some school play that was having auditions, that the girls volleyball team won their match 21-15, and finally that we were having pizza for lunch again.

Of course she went into much more unnecessary detail about the events but I was hardly paying attention.

"Well now that the bulletin is over we can start class." Mr.Smitty said.

I internally sighed at his words hoping that we were at least doing something that didn't require much effort.

"Today is the last day that you have in class to finish your posters and I expect to see all 13 finished projects on my desk tomorrow morning." He said.

After that he returned his attention back to his computer screen, not even giving us a second glance.

"We probably should've started our project." I stated to Calum.

"Well we could've done it last night but I know one of us was already occupied with someone else." Calum muttered in response.

"What are you talking about?"

Calum rolled his eyes an looked at me before he replied, "You and some college guy, Arnold or something."

"His name is Ashton, and how would you even know about that? Are you stalking me?"

"Please, have better things to do than keep up with your life. I just went by your house last night to see if you could work on the project since you weren't answering your phone. That black haired guy answered the door and said you were with the Arnold guy." Calum explained.

"Once again his name is Ashton, and I don't get why this is such a big deal to you. You've never once seemed to care about anything that involved school."

Calum and I seemed to have this pattern. We'd have some kind of romantic moment and we'd be nearly couple like, but then the next day his mood would completely switch and he'd act as if I had killed his goldfish or something. The whole cycle was extremely annoying.

"I don't care about this dumb project." Calum said.

"Then why are you making such a big deal about me not being available to work on it?" I questioned.

Calum seemed to get more and more confusing every time we talked and I was getting extremely tired of it.

"Because I don't care about this poster but I care about you and I don't want you with other guys."

He said most of his answer extremely quietly so I nearly didn't hear him, but when I processed what he had meant I had no idea what to reply.

At that moment I could've said something like, "well you're the only guy I'd want to be around" or something clever that could have helped me get laid later, but instead I decided to make our situation even more awkward by saying, "well we should probably start our poster."

When I said that Calum gave me the most annoyed look that could've given.

"You're fucking with me right?" He asked.

Once again I had no idea what to say so I just sat their with wide eyes.

"I just told you that you're important to me and you want to work on something we've definitely already failed?"

"I uh, I don't know?" I replied unsurely.

Calum sighed heavily and ran his hand through his hair causing it to get messed up.

"Is it because you think I'm an asshole?" He asked.

"I don't think you're an asshole." I lied.

Although there were times that Calum was nice it was usually because he was drunk, any other time he was nearly always a self absorbed asshole.

"Yes you do, I can tell you're lying."

"You aren't an asshole all the time, just some."

This situation just kept getting worse and I had no idea how to turn it around.

"I swear I'm not." Calum defended.

"For as long as we've gone to the same school there have been very few times I've heard of you doing something nice."

"I do good things."

"Oh yeah, prove it."

"I will. Meet me in the parking lot after school." He said.

So I did.
