Call Me Daddy • C.H

"My name is Calum, but you can call me daddy."

"How about fuckboy instead?"

13. Ch.13 • I'm Too Punk Rock For That

As expected, the next day passed extremely dully. My parents stuck with their original punishment of not letting me leave the house, (which was totally cool with me since I hardly left anyway) but in addition they decided to take away my phone as well.

Without my phone I was left with nothing to do but play with my little sister which was not fun. Throughout the day we colored, played dress up, hide and seek, and watched pointless children's tv. All of which was entertaining for her, and not at all for me.

As 5 o'clock approached I stopped playing with her and went to my room to get ready for my date with Ashton. Sneaking out would be quite easy since my parents were out with friends and wouldn't be coming home until extremely late tonight. As for my sister, I had arranged for Chase to come over and watch her. She didn't know I was grounded and she wasn't much of a snitch, so I it was unlikely she'd tell my parents.

After about 40 minutes I finished putting on my makeup and doing my hair, none of which were very difficult. I didn't have any idea about what to wear so I just put on some skinny jeans, a simple grey sweater, and a pair of black combat boots.

For the next few minutes I just sat on the couch with Chase and played games on my phone as he went through my Netflix.

Ashton had said he would be picking me up at 6, and it was now 6:02 which meant he would probably be here at any moment.

"You know you really owe me for this right?" Chase asked as he finally picked a show to watch.

"You don't even have to do that much. Lia already sleeps more than I do so you basically just have to sit here in case she wakes up." I explained to him. "And if she does just give her some animal crackers and put on Spongebob."

"I'm mostly just doing this because my parents haven't paid for Netflix yet and you have it." Chase confessed.

"Wow, I have such an amazing best friend." I replied sarcastically.

"You really do."

As Chase finished his sentence I saw a car pull into the driveway. I assumed it was Ashton so I got off the couch and started to walk to the door.

"Is Calum here?" Chase asked.

"No. Why would he be here?"

"I thought Andrelum was finally going cannon?"

"Andrelum is kinda in an odd place right now." I told him.

"Then who are you going out with?" Chase asked.

"This guy named Ashton." I answered, hoping his questions would stop.

"You can't just go out with another guy when you have a slight thing with a different one." Chase said.

"I can do whatever I want." I replied.

Just then the doorbell rang which gave me an excuse to leave this conversation.

"I'll see you later!" I yelled as I began to open the door.

"Don't get pregnant!" Chase yelled back.

Thankfully the door wasn't open when he yelled that. If it had been Ashton probably would have ditched the date.

"Hi Ashton." I greeted once he was visible.

"Hello." He replied. His hair was down today, and he was wearing a plain white shirt with his usual black jeans.

I don't think I'll ever figure out how he gets in and out of them. I'm quite sure that they're tighter than mine.

"Wait!" Chase suddenly yelled, running up to the door. "As your best friend I'm required to meet him."

Why must he be like this? He was like the annoying brother that I was lucky not to have.

"Ashton this is Chase, Chase this is Ashton." I quickly introduced. "Why don't we get going now?"

"You didn't tell me he was basically a man." Chase not so quietly whispered to me.

Ashton giggled at his comment before replying, "I'm only 21, that's not that old."

"Well that's 4 years older than Andrea, and you have a beard." Chase pointed out.

"Why are you so embarrassing?" I questioned Chase.

I was desperately hoping he would just go back inside, but it seemed to be his mission to continue making strange comments.

"Clearly I'm not wanted here." He said, pausing to stare at me. "So I'll leave you with good advise. Don't have sex. If she gets pregnant you'll have a child and you'll be in jail. Wait until January 8th when it will be legal."

With that he gave Ashton a pat on the shoulder and then closed the door before either of us could make a comment.

"You have a very strange friend." Ashton said.

"You don't even know. I think we're good to leave now though."

"I don't know, he might have more advise for us." Ashton joked as we started walking to his car.

"Let's hope not."

I opened the passenger side door and got into his car. As I reached back to grab my seatbelt I noticed there was someone sitting in the backseat.

"Are you aware there's someone in your car?" I asked Ashton, not sure if I should be worried.

"Yeah, that's my little brother Harry. When I asked you out last night I forgot that I was suppose to babysit him and Lauren refused to do it instead since she was going out with friends." He said, his checks getting slightly red. "I hope you don't mind. I know it's not very common to babysit a sibling on the first date."

"It's totally fine with me. What are we going to do?" I asked.

"My mum doesn't let Harry go out with me on school nights since she doesn't find me completely responsible which means we will be spending the evening at our house." Ashton explained.

"I promised Ashton I wouldn't bug you guys by the way." Harry said.

"That's nice to know?" I said, but it came out more as a question.

"I'd totally get it if you wanted to stay home or something." Ashton said without making eye contact.

"Just because your brother is with doesn't mean I'm gonna ditch you. I doubt he's out to sabotage us."

"You never know with him."

After Ashton had finished speaking he began to pull out of the driveway and start the drive to his house. Throughout the short drive Harry was quite the chatterbox, asking me multiple questions like "what's your favorite fruit" and "if Ashton suddenly turned into a turtle, what would you do?" Which kept the ride very interesting.

After a few more minutes and a few more strange questions we finally arrived at Ashton's house. Harry was the first out of the car, saying something about a video game before running inside. Ashton and I then followed him inside, but at a much slower pace.

"Ashton whatever you had in the oven is burning!" Harry yelled.

We had only just stepped into the house and there was already a problem.

"Shit shit shit shit." Ashton mumbled as he hurried to the kitchen.

The smell of burnt food was suddenly extremely prominent as Ashton opened the oven. Some smoke started to emerge as well, making as all start coughing. Ashton grabbed an oven mitt and then reached towards the burning food, pulling it out and then dumping it into the sink. He then turned it on and covered it with water which started to put out the smoke.

"Will you ever be able to make something without nearly burning the house down?" Harry asked.

"I make food all the time." Ashton replied.

"Cereal doesn't count."

"Yes it does."

I laughed at Harry's comment, earning a slight glare from Ashton that didn't seem too serious.

"Don't laugh with the enemy." Ashton said. "I tried to make dinner."

"And I appreciate your effort, I'm sure it would've been great." I replied.

"It should've, it was from a box." Harry blurted.

"I think it's time you go watch Tv or something." Ashton said as he lightly pushed Harry into the living room.

"Your brother is pretty funny." I told Ashton when he came back into the kitchen.

"No he's not. An 11 year old should not make me look like a complete idiot in front of my date."

"Don't worry, I don't think you're complete idiot."

"You're only a slight idiot."

Ashton rolled his eyes at me, but laughed as well.

"I was trying to impress you ya know?" He asked.

"Well I would be very impressed if we just ordered pizza." I told him.

"Really?" He asked, his eyes widening slightly.

"Really." I answered.

"Well then prepare to be impressed."

Once Ashton had said that he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He pressed a few buttons and then began his call.

"Do you have the pizza number in your phone?" I asked.

Ashton had begun to order the pizza so all he did was nod his head in response.

A minute later Ashton hung up his phone and placed it back into his pocket.

"You will be impressed in 10-25 minutes." Ashton said.

"What kind of pizza?" I asked, slightly worried that he had forgotten I was a vegetarian.

"I got cheese since I know you don't eat meat."

"I think you deserve a fist bump for that." I said.

I put my fist up for Ashton to bump which he did, laughing a little as he did so.

"I think I deserve a little more than a fist bump." He said, making funny movements with his eyebrows.

"A high five?" I joked.

"Little more?"

"A safe side hug?"

"How about a kiss?"

"Only if it's good pizza." I said.

"Have you ever actually had bad pizza?" Ashton asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No, but you never know." I shrugged.

Ashton laughed and then spoke again, "Since Harry is using the tv, we can either watch Teen Titans Go or we can listen to my amazing collection of music."

"As interesting as Teen Titans Go is, I think I'd rather judge whether or not you have a good music taste." I said.

"Well be prepared to not only be impressed by the pizza, but by my amazing music as well."

With that Ashton ran off to the stereo in the corner and started to play a CD.

"Pick a number 1-14." Ashton said.

"Just do it."

"Uhh, 10?"

"Good choice."

He then turned back the stereo and pressed a button a few times before music started playing.

"Twenty One Pilots?" I asked.

"Yeah, Blurryface is a damn good album." Ashton shrugged.

"I don't know, I don't really like it."

When I said that Ashton looked at me with wide eyes.

"I'm totally kidding! Blurryface is basically my favorite album to ever exist." I said.

Ashton then let out a sigh, "that's good because I might've had to end this date of you didn't."

"Then I'm lucky that I have a good music taste."

The familiar sound of We Don't Believe What's On Tv had begun to play and Ashton and I were humming along to the rap parts. Then as the chorus began to play we both started to sing obnoxiously loudly.

"I don't care what's in your hair I just wanna know what's on your mind." We sang in unison.

"I used to say I wanna die before I'm old but because of you I might think twice." At this part we both pointed at each other before we started laughing, making us miss the next lyrics.

"I know it's the first date, but I wanna say that I really like you." Ashton confessed, still laughing a little.

"Well that's good because I really like you too." I replied.

We were both smiling again, forgetting to return back to song.

"Are you guys gonna make out? Because if you do please do it somewhere I can't see. I don't need nightmares." Harry said.

"Why Harry? Why do you ruin these moments?" Ashton sighed.

"As your brother, it's kinda my job."

Once again I laughed at one of Harry's comments, and once again I received a harmless glare from Ashton.

"I told you not to encourage him." Ashton whined.

"I can't help it if he says something funny." I said.

"Pizza guy!" Harry suddenly yelled.

(A/N I'm aware pizza doesn't deliver that quickly, just go with it)

Ashton's face instantly went from pouty to excited within 2 seconds. He then grabbed his wallet off the table and walked to the door.

A minute later he came back with the pizza. Harry nearly tripped over his own feet as he ran towards Ashton, clearly excited to eat.

"I don't know if I should even give you any." Ashton said to Harry.

"What? Why?" Harry look horrified as Ashton sat the pizza away from him.

"You've been making fun of me all day."

"I promise I'll stop."

"Pinky promise?"

"Pinky promise."

With that they hooked their pinkies together.

"I feel like I'm watching a pair of Kindergartens." I said.

"Well I'm a very mature man, unlike him." Ashton said, pointing towards his brother.

"You're a 21 year old getting upset over his 11 year old brother saying he can't cook, and then making him pinky promise not to be mean to you. Very mature indeed."

The three of us had transitioned from the kitchen to the couch and we had began to eat.

Within 5 minutes Harry had already dropped his pizza on to his shirt and Ashton had spilled his water all over the coffee table.

"We should play Just Dance." Harry suggested as he came back from his room with a clean shirt.

"I'm not doing that." Ashton said.

"Why not? Just Dance is fun." I asked.

"I'm too punk rock for that." He answered.

"Oh yes, the boy who giggled like a little school girl is just so punk rock." I said sarcastically.

"I bet you're just afraid you'll lose every game." Harry said.

"There's no way I could possibly lose."

"Then play."

"I wouldn't want to lower your self esteem with my amazing dance moves."

"Put you money where your mouth is then." I challenged.

"How about I put my mouth where your mouth is." He suggested.

"That's gross Ashton." Harry said. "You should still play though."

Ashton looked at me and then at Harry before letting out a sigh. "Fine, but be prepared to lose."

An hour later Harry was beating both of us. He had won 6 games, I had won 4, and Ashton had only beat us at 1 and it was only because Harry and I had agreed to let him win.

"Well I told you I'd beat you guys." Ashton said.

"We played 11 games and you only won the last one. You definitely showed us." Harry said sarcastically as he put away the game.

"Whatever, I still won a game."

"You did a great job." I complimented.

"Thank you." Ashton said.

"I was talking about Harry." I said, holding back a laugh.

"Even your girlfriend thinks I'm better than you."

"Shut up."

They then started a small banter, going back and forth with lame insults that only 1st graders would find offensive.

"Hey Ashton, do you know what time it is?" I asked, breaking up their small fight.

"It's nearly 8:30, why?" He said.

"I need to get going then. Chase could only watch my sister until 8:45ish because his parents needed him to do something." I said.

"I'll give you a ride then. Harry you can stay here. Don't burn the house down, don't break a bone, and don't die. Mum won't be too happy if any of that happens."

Harry nodded his head in response and then turned the tv to some Cartoon Network show.

"Are you sure he'll be fine alone?" I asked as we stared to leave the house.

"You're a pretty responsible brother."

"He's been home alone before, and I'll only be gone for about 10 minutes." Ashton reassured.

We then got in to the car and started to drive back to my house.

"I hope you didn't have a terrible time." Ashton said.

"I definitely had a good time." I replied. "I've never been on a 'pizza and Just Dance with my little brother' date."

"I think that's probably a good thing."

"What's the fun in a basic date though? I'd rather do that then just go to a movie."

"Then I'm glad that I was not basic."

"As you should be."

We had now reached my house and I had begun to unbuckle my seatbelt.

"So how was the pizza?" Ashton randomly asked.

"It was pretty good, why?" I answered.

I then remembered the promise I had made to him so I slightly leaned into him. He began to move towards me as well and our lips were slowly pressed together. Unlike when I had kissed Calum, this kiss made me feel something. There was nothing rushed about this kiss which I liked, but Ashton soon pulled back which left me slightly disappointed.

"So I'll see you again?" He asked.
