Fairy tales

Fairy tales is a part of every childhood. But in my case, it followed further than childhood. I'm 17 now, and I still love them. My mom used to read them out loud, until I was five, and... well, she weren't there anymore. The only thing I have left from her, is these stories.

But what if, some day I recognized some object from my stories? It sounds crazy, but I swear, it happened. A white tail and a big pocketwatch chasing after it, and I think it said something about being late. Would you follow it? I did. I was curious. One of my stories had gotten real. But I definitely didn't believe that I would fall. Deeper and deeper. I couldn't tell when it would end, but I could tell when it began.

9. 10 worlds

I could hear water running. 'Did we escape?' I was resting on something soft. I turned my head, and looked into a pair of dark brown eyes. It was him again. 'But aren't we usually separated when we change worlds?' "You did it," he said with the biggest smile on his face. His back were not red anymore. It was like the crows had never been there. 'My leg! If his back where okay, then my leg were probably too! I could get away!' I got up and started to run. 'Which story were we in this time?'  Then a loud 'dong' sounded. I looked up, and saw the hand showed midnight. I looked down, and realised I was wearing the most beautiful dress, and... gold slippers. This was Cinderella! So I had to get away, before I changed back. "LEAH! Stop! I know you're confused, but I can explain!" I had no intentions on staying for a cup of tea, if it meant I was near him. 'Shoot!' One of my slippers was stuck, I had forgotten all about that stuff. Didn't have time to pick it up anyways. Stepmother would lock me in that room anyway.
I could hear the carriage outside. People were talking, and the stepsisters were almost killing each other, just to get to try the shoe first. "Where are you going, Prince! There's nothing up there!" I giggled a little, 'They had been rejected.' Wait... Up there! I could hear footsteps on the other side. They stopped just outside the door. 'Oh no, I had been found out!' I had to hide somewhere. But where? The only thing in this room, was a mirror, a chair and a madras. 'If I stood by the door I could maybe sneak out before he saw me.' It was worth a shot. The lock opened and the guy entered the room. 'Now!' But he was one step ahead of me, and closed the door, before I could even try to get out.He looked around the room, searching. I sat down, and made me as small as possible, hoping he didn't see me. But it was impossible not to. I could hear him turning the key around, and locked us in. 'No doubt, he had seen me!'  What could be used in defence in this room with nothing in it. 'The mirror!'  I ran towards it and smashed it. I took one of the pieces and pointed at him. "Don't you dare come closer," I threatened him. "Leah, I can explain. This is not what you think." He took one step towards me. "Hold it right there!" He stopped. "I'm not gonna touch you, Leah. All I ask, is for you to hear me out. If you feel safer, you can threaten me all you want, with that piece of glas. But please, hear me out." "No! I won't. I just want you to disappear, and never approach me again!" "Leah, please. I don't wanna hurt you!" "Then leave me alone!" "Leah..." "NO! I don't wanna hear it." "But you have to," he said. "If you want to or not." He took a step closer. "I'm warning you!" I was shaking all over. One more step. "I'm serious!" He grabbed the glass with his hand. The pain didn't seem to stop him. He took it out of my hand, and lifted me up. "Let go! Put me down!" I punched him several times, but it didn't affect him at all. "Alright," he finally said, and placed me on the chair. He took of his cape, and wrapped it around my hands like a very thick rope. "I'm not gonna hurt you! I just need you to listen!" I stopped struggling. I was still scared. He relaxed and looked at me. "Good." I couldn't do a thing. My hands were tied up, he had the key, and he'd promised not to hurt me. I could only hope he would keep that promise. He smiled, and wiped away a tear on my cheek. "You look a lot like her." 'What?' "Your mother." 'He knew my mother?' I couldn't say anything. But he could read my expression. "Yeah, I knew your mother. She was the one controlling the shifting between worlds before you. But one day, the world changed without her doing anything. We got separated. I guess that was you entering here." I couldn't contain the question anymore. "My mother is alive!" He was surprised by my sudden interest. "Yeah. She took care of me, the first time I ended up here. That's how I recognized you." Right, the little mermaid. "I'm sorry I kissed you like that. But I have an explanation! Well, kinda." Right, someone told you to. I rolled my eyes. You remember the second fairytale, 'Little red riding hood,' right?" I nodded. I had seen my grandmother for the first time in years. "The first time, I was the hunter. I met the wolf, and I should've known better, but he told me what I wanted to know. Where I could find your mother." I looked at him. "Where!" I asked desperately. "He didn't tell me exactly. But he told me how to get there." "How!" I had become very impatient. "Here comes the part you might not like." I looked wondering at him. "He told me that she was 10 stories from there. The only way to get there, was to find her daughter, which now controlled the worlds, and make her change." "That doesn't explain the kisses." "Yeah, there was this one demand." "What demand! Common! Tell me!" "You did not only had to change world, but it had to happen within a certain timelimit. 15 minutes. And even your mom couldn't change that fast. I had to make you change within those minutes." "So why not just make me unconscious with something else." "Well, this is kinda embarrassing. Your mother had told me a lot about you, and, I don't know. I think I maybe fell in love with you. And when you appeared in front of me like that, there was no doubt, that I had found you." There was a silence in a moment. "I guess I got carried away, and realised that this was an option for us to enter the next story." I was speechless. "But that time with the crows, you were gentle, and I could almost enter the next story, cause I was calm, I could feel the surroundings change. Why did you change?" He had regression written all over his face. "I'm sorry, I could feel it too. But the pain was too unbearable to wait for. I'm sorry, Leah." He really was. No doubt. I couldn't hold a grudge on that face. "I forgive you. But you must promise never to do it again." "Really!" His whole face lightened up. I nodded. I thought he was gonna kiss me again, but his head dodged just in time, and my fear went away. He hugged me instead. I could live with this.

After tying me up. I had some questions. "So we have way passed the limit of time. So we have time for questions, and I have a lot of them." "Feel free to ask."
