Better Together ~ Shawn Mendes

Maybe that's the problem with everyone. We give up. To easily. But . . . that's just the thing, isn't it? Giving up is easy. It's easy to walk away. It's easy to not face the problem. It's easy to not fight. It's so damn easy.
And I have the same fault.
"shawn, I love you. And I know you love me. But this was never going to work and I'm sorry that this has to be this way. I love you and I hope you find a way to be happy some day; to find someone who can make you happy. But for now you need to be a father, and a boyfriend, to someone that isn't me." I choke out finally.

It's been 6 months since that first Youtube video and since then my career as a youtuber has take off. I now have 1.6 million subscribers. Which is crazy because it's only been 6 months! I think part of my fame is because I used to date shawn. That's another thing too. I've learned to lock away all of my feelings for him, deep inside of me where it's hard for even me to reach them. I'm not saying they're gone; or that I've gotten over them. Because, trust me, I haven't. If I were to reach in and grab all of my well hidden feelings then I would probably turn into a giant pile of mush on the ground . . . so I'm not really interested in that. Especially because I'm expected to make a video on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday's. So being a pile of mush and tears doesn't really fit into my schedule. Along with me, Chloe career has picked up also at 1.1 million subscribers already. And finally I'm getting to do what I've wanted to do for a while now. Chloe and I have been handed our dream on a silver platter. We get to travel around the world. And we get to meet our fans. The people that made all of this, possible.

We leave in a few days to go to our first stop with a few other friends of ours, including Bethany Mota, Kian lawley, Tyler Oakley, Jc caylen, JennxPenn, Connor franta, , MyLifeAsEva, treyvor Moran, sam pottoroff and Ricky Dillion. I am so excited it's not even funny. I would've never guessed that at the age of 17, my life would be all of this. Touring with my idea of legends, Meeting a bunch of adoring fans who mean the world to me, making people smile and laugh every day! It's amazing what Youtube has the ability to do, honestly.

"Hey, Brie! Are you done unpacking in your room yet?!" Chloe shouts from her room on the other side of our new apartment. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention? About a month ago Chloe and I moved out to LA into our very own apartment. It's kinda weird since we're not even legal yet, but apparently our parents "pulled a few strings". Their way of saying that they lied to the owner of the apartments and we are - according to him - officially 18. But whatever works, right?

"Yeah!" I shout back, answering her question.

"Yay! We can go shopping! I seriously need some new clothes . . ." she tells me, walking into my room.

"Ever heard of knocking?" I say sarcastically.

"Nope." she simply replies. I laugh and she adds. "Plus the door was open smarty pants." I roll my eyes and quickly get changed into more 'mall appropriate' clothes. Once Chloe is ready too we walk out of the building and get into our new convertible, that we had bought about a week ago. We're still getting used to this lifestyle; the fact that we have loads of money surprises me every time I buy something and don't have to worry about how much is left on my card. It's amazing and I highly recommend it. We get to the mall and start off by going to all of our favorite stores; including Sephora and Victoria's Secret. By the time we're done I'm amazed that my arms haven't broken because of the amount of bags I've been carrying around for over 2 hours. But I suppose I'll get used to it. I mean, what girl wouldn't?

"Oh my God. Turn around, or go into a different store - or something!" Chloe hisses at me, dragging me frantically into Rue 21; which we had just left.

"What - why?" I ask her. She shushes me and I follow her eyes to a group of rowdy teenage boys that are passing by. At first, I don't understand, but as I look closer I realize . . . oh my god. It's them. Cameron, Nash, Carter, Hayes, Taylor, Jack and Jack, matt, Aaron, Mahogany, and . . . shawn. I glance at Chloe and then look back only to see her. She's still there?! After everything - she still hangs out with them?! I watch as Jenna giggles at something shawn said and glare at her in disgust. I then realize that I'm hiding behind a clothing rack. Which is ridiculous. My feeling are well hidden and as far as anyone can tell, "I'm over it", and "I'm over him.". So I grab Chloe's arm and I drag her out so that we're walking back through the mall. It's not like I'm purposefully trying to get noticed; I just don't find it necessary to hide. I hear cat calls from behind and roll my eyes, looking at Mallory.

"See? They obviously didn't recognize us since they're whistling at us right now." I tell her surely. They're talking so loud that even when I'm standing in line for Starbucks, about 70ish feet away from them I can hear them loud and clear.

"Let's play truth or dare!" Someone - who I think is Carter - shouts.

"In the mall?" Nash responds.

"Yeah!" Cameron shouts out. I roll my eyes and hear the last thing.

"Fine, shawn I dare you too . . ." the person pauses and I can't make out what they say afterwards. I hear footsteps behind me but don't really think much of it since, you know, this is Starbucks. There's a tap on my shoulder and both Chloe and I turn around to see....Matt. He blinks rapidly when he sees it's me.

"shawn . . . Hey . . ."

"Brie. Hi."

Well this is awkward.
