When they left the palace Jenny squeezed Jeff’s hand; “I was so proud of you today Jeff; the way you handled my father was exemplary.” They got back into the station wagon and drove away.

“Where to now then Princess?

“Do me a favour; never call me princess.”

“You are to me though Jenny; you are so precious.”

When they got back they made love again and lay in bed just talking.

“You know that I have to get back tomorrow don’t you?

“Yes; I will take you early in the morning; I will organise my plane to leave the airport at five o’clock.”

“What time is it now?

“It is twenty past twelve.

“Well we better make the most of what little time we have left then said Jeff.

Jeff and Jenny Packed the Plane with everything that Martyn and Jimmy had asked for before taking off.”

“Don’t be sad love said Jeff; “I will see you next Friday and I’m on the CB radio frequency.”

“When I finish my research here in the Antarctic I want you to come with me to England where we can be married.”

“We can buy a house with the money that I have saved.

“What would I do?

“There is plenty work for commercial pilots in England or you can start a new career as a teacher of history.

“What do I know of history?

“You know the history of the Maori people; you could give lectures on your family Jenny.”

“Do you think the university would take me Jeff?

“Think you say; they would snap your hands off to get a real princess to talk about the culture of your people.

“Then I will come with you; it will be a fresh start for me away from my parents.

“Look we are here; Jenny banked the plane and then turned towards the landing strip.

“The plane sailed gently down onto the ice and then came to a halt.

“I love you Jeffery Sharp.

“I love you too said Jeff as they kissed. I will see you next Friday.

Jeff jumped down then took his bag and the stores he had bought. He ran into the cabin brought out the post then gave it to Jenny then stood back as Jenny turned the plane then took off again.

Jeff waved as she flew past then tilted her wings as a waving gesture.
