Reverend Donald P. Lee gave the sermon.

Stay rooted in faith and be aware when our faith waivers and needs bolstering of prayer or study or some other spiritual discipline. Apply ourselves to what we value

most, which for the people of faith is that God love us beyond our wildest imaginations. Then we will use that love to live out our lives with mercy, justice, and peace. Stay rooted in faith, Amen.

Amen they all replied.

The sound of the choir rang out and the congregation joined in to “Ye Holy Angels Bright” then the prayers were said before a final hymn and the collection.

Councillor Badoe; Akan turned to see the reverend and bowed his head as a mark of respect. “What can I do for you reverend?

“It is not what you can do but more of what you have already done.

“We received help with the church roof because of your letter asking for help.

A roofing builder from the town has offered his services next week end free of charge to replace the lead flashing that was stolen in January.” The power of the Lord is Great is it not Councillor?”

“Yes it is reverend; let me know if there is anything else you require and I will do my best to help.

“Thank you Councillor; go with God.”

Councillor Akan joined his wife and daughter then headed towards the car park where they got in then drove to Evans Carters house for dinner.

Jimmy Connors Hepple had eaten a full English breakfast before leaving for Sheffield it was six twenty and it would take him at least two hours to reach his flat. He was being picked up at three o’clock so he wanted to get back in good time. He checked his map for the route he was going to take. He told his mother that he would ring as soon as he reached his flat. His first job was to go to a garage and fill up the tank with petrol as he didn’t have enough to get him to Sheffield. The engine fired up and he left soon he would be in one of the coldest regions in the world where the temperatures drop to 50% centigrade. Antarctica being the world’s largest protected area with 1.7 million Km. The team soon found out how cold it could get.

The drive down had been fairly easy as the traffic was light he sailed down the fast lane and made it back in an hour and a half. He rushed up stairs to his flat and began to pack all the warm woollen clothing he would need. He packed two pairs of boots and crampons, snow goggles. He bought a good Pen tax camera and binoculars. His hand line with spare line and hooks lures and jigs, with eight once weights.

He had enough dried food for six months which was lighter to carry than tins.

There was a fully stocked first aid kit with scissors, needles, to stitch wounds, threads, antiseptic, aspirin, seasick pills, and any other remedy his mother could think of was neatly packed away.
