Harry Foster was getting the boat hitched up to the people carrier as the men and boys ate breakfast.

They would have to buy two more fishing rods for the boys from the tackle shop as well as reels too but they were cheap enough here.”

When the boys’ were ready they packed some food into a cool box and some drinks then got into the car. They were going to Thunder Bay which was some fifty miles away. They stopped at a tackle shop called The Fishing Hole where they bought Sydney and Jimmy a rod and reel. Harry already had a large box of flies and lures that they could both use.

“What sort of fish will we catch Granddad?

“Well there’s salmon, trout, and wide mouthed bass on the lake.”

“Your going to have to catch something because we don’t want to go hungry do we? “We are camping on the lake tonight.”

“I have never been camping before Granddad.”

“Well you are tonight so this will be a first.”

“Have you camped before Sydney?

“Yes I went hunting with my father and we made our own shelter from wood and leaves; even our beds were made from wood and leaves from the forest.

“Tell my granddad how you shot that big wild boar Sydney.”

“Sydney went on to tell them how he and his father set out on a hunting expedition to shoot a pig for all the villagers to eat.”

“You couldn’t have been very old Sydney said Michael.”

“I was only nine at that time Doctor Connors.”

“You were very brave said Harry; as those boars can be vicious.

“Do you go hunting as well Granddad?

“Oh yes but you have to be careful as there are some big ole bears in the woods around here.

“Bears; are there any where we are camping?

“Yes, but they won’t bother us. You still have to be careful not to leave food out or that will attract them.”

“Have you brought a rifle with you?

“Yes just in case.”

In the distance they could see the lake as they turned onto the track that would eventually take them to the camping park beside the lake.

When they got there to the lake there were two others camping not far away from where they would be setting up?

They lowered the boat into the water by backing the trailer into the water then disconnecting it and the boat slid into the water. The boat was tied off then the trailer reconnected and then driven up to where they were going to camp.
