When everyone had finished eating the table was taken away and the music started and everyone started dancing.

Sydney and Jimmy were standing talking when Sydney’s mother asked if he would dance with Ama who he knew from last year’s party she was standing with another girl who he had never seen before. “Who is she asked Jimmy to Sydney’s mother?

That is Eliza Badoe she Lives in North Shields.

North Shields you say?

“Yes; why do you ask Jimmy?”

“I was born in North Shields before I came to live with my adoptive parents.

“Why don’t you go over and talk with her then; looks like she’s a bit lonely don’t you think?

Jimmy pushed his friend forward and he nearly fell over. The girls began to giggle as Jimmy casually walked over.

Hi I’m Jimmy and this is Sydney my friend. We know who Sydney is it’s his birthday remember.”

“Oh yes I forgot he laughed; Sydney’s mam says that you are from North Shields Eliza.

“Yes, I live on Nile Street.”

“I lived on Trinity Street until the explosion blew up the house.

“Oh my God was it your mam and dad who were killed?

“Yes;

“I’m sorry Jimmy you must be really hurting inside.

Yes; I think about them every day but Doctor Michael Connor’s and his wife Patricia are my new mam and dad now and they love me and I them.

“I am coming down to North Shields with Sydney tomorrow if you fancy coming fishing with us.”

“Fishing like in a boat?

“No don’t be daft; where are we going to get a boat?

“I don’t know but North Shields is a fishing town isn’t it?

“Yes, but we fish for Sprats on the steps of the wooden pier.”

“What time are you going to be there?

 9 o’clock in the morning.

“What; I will be in church until eleven so I won’t be able to come until twelve.

What church do you go to?

“Trinity Methodist Church do you know it.”

“Yes I know it.

“I will see you two tomorrow then said Eliza as she walked to where her parents were waiting.
