Jeff never slept a wink all night; so he finished off some reports that he was going to do on the plane going back. He could now spend more time with Jenny.

The cabin was cleaned and everything put away the way it was when they got there.

Jimmy had stocked up the storeroom with skinned hare, ptarmigan, and fish which was all dated. He also restocked the wood shed for the wood burning stove. He even replanted over three hundred trees that would take about ten years to mature.

The Hercules would be bringing the next group of researchers; who would spend the winter here. Jimmy was glad that it wasn’t him.

They brought all there clothes and boots and other equipment to the cabin door ready to rush out. The wind was picking up now; Jeff hoped that it didn’t turn into a blizzard because the plane would not fly out in those kinds of conditions.

Jenny looked at the clock for the hundredth time she had another hour to wait and it was hell.

As the time drew nearer her heart was pounding so hard she thought that her chest would burst. She looked around the room to see if there was anything that she’d left. All the rubbish had been taken to the dump so that there was no trace of her whereabouts at the Jardine Motel. She had her Jewellery which she always took with her in case she was burgled. Jenny only brought a few clothes to make it look like she had gone on holiday.

Then she opened her passport her new name was Jenny Stewart.

She kept the name Jenny in case she forgot. Jenny packed her case then took a taxi to the airport. The man driving the taxi said he was from New Zealand and he was a Maori but with the baseball cap on and being only five feet tall the driver thought that she was a boy. She had cut her hair really short in like a sixties style and dyed it blonde. It looked horrible but it would soon grow out she thought.

Jenny gave the taxi driver twenty dollars and told him to keep the change.

She took her case to the check in and told them that she was expecting to be picked up by the Hercules at seven.

“Please go to gate twelve Miss Stewart they will be expecting you.”

“Thank you.”

Jenny pulled the case along and was alright until she saw two huge policemen coming her way. She pulled the brim of the cap down a little then walked past them.

She walked further down the corridor until she found gate twelve.

Once there she told the girl on the desk her name.

“Yes Miss Stewart we have been expecting you. Can I see your passport and please remove your cap for a moment.

Jenny’s heart began to pound and she could feel a trickle of sweat rolling down her face.

“It is warm in here I wasn’t going to put this coat on but they say it is cold in England at this time of year.

“It can get wet too; it rains a lot as well. The girl handed Jenny her passport back.
