The good deed (michael clifford)

5sos, Michael Clifford,
It's not the best feeling in the world. Realising your life is so worthless that you find yourself on top of a bridge, waiting for that moment when your feet lift from the ground and you find yourself falling.
I wouldn't know, he saved me before I could have a chance to feel my body hit the waters face. Before I could fall.
But why did he save me? Why is he helping a broken person like me?
Especially when he's famous?
It doesn't make sense. Until you read.

10. Chap 10

Michaels POV

Princess, I like that nickname for her. Although she isn't like any other girl I have ever meet, it somehow suits her.

I smile making my way into my room, and flopping myself on my king sized bed. It has always seemed so empty. This place. Many rooms but only me to occupie them, well now Laura too but, still seems so empty.

I lay on my back deciding if I'm doing the right thing. I mean if my boss finds out I have taken a 'mentally unstable' so to speak, girl and invited her in my home. I could lose my job, my reputation, my everything.

I'm not sure if I should let Laura know about my job. I mean if she found out would it risk my boss finding out too? I can just imagine the conversation with my boss.

'Hey, you know that thing about not taking people with a high risk of harm home?'

'your didn't.' Ashton would shake his head with disappointment.

'well...' I would tail off.

FIRED. That's what I'll be. Sacked. No more pay, no more job, Fired.

And Laura, she would get taken away. To a shelter or to talk to people who can possibly help her. But still, she isn't that bad.

I mean yeah, she's had a rough life and wants to end it, but if you were in her situation, you'd want to end it too.

A soft knock at my bedroom door brings me out of my thoughts.

'Michael?.' her soft cracked voice calls. She slowly opens my door.

'Yeah, what's up Princess?' I softly smile at her.

She brakes down in tears. 'I can't sleep, what if he finds me? What I'd he takes me away?' she slowly makes her way to my bed.

I sit up opening my arms and wrapping them around her. I gently pick her up and hold her.

'shhh.' I whisper softly in her ear, I tighten my grip on her slightly.

'Thats not going to happen, I won't let it.'

She sniffles, wiping away her tears. She is so fragile, so broken.

'C..can I sl..sleep in' She says stuttering.

'Of course.' I whisper in her ear.

Laura curls up to my chest as I lay back, pulling the blanket over her cold shoulders.

She buries her face into my neck, placing her small hand on my chest. I gently grab it with my hand, running my thumb in circles on her smooth skin.

I bring her hand up to my lips and gently plant a kiss on it, before bringing it back to my chest.

It wasn't long before her light snores fill the room. I can't help but to smile at her, the way she makes me feel. It's crazy to think someone so beautiful as her could ever go through so much.

I'm glade I was on the bridge that day. Or I would never of meet Laura.

I woke up to a loud knock at my front door. I groan making sure not to wake Laura. I slowly move my arm from under her and get up.

I make my way down stairs stretching, and yawning. I look up at my clock on the wall. Its only 6am.

I open the door, unaware that I have forgotten to put on a shirt. I'm greeted by a very distressed man. His eyes bloodshot, his cloth's dirty.

'Hello?' I question.

'Hello sir, have you seen my daughter? She ran away a week ago and no one wants to Help me.' He sounds panicked.

'um, I don't think so... Do you have a photo or a description of her for me?' I try to smile.

'she has deep brown eyes, light brown hair, is really pretty, about average hight.' Laura. Fuck.

'I'm sorry sir I haven't.' I lie. If he finds out she's here he will kill her. I'll kill him.

'Please if you see her let me know.' He begs. I nod as he gives me a phone number and leaves.

I shut the door running my hands through my hair. I make my way back upstairs and into my room.

Laura has her back turned away from me. At first I thought she was asleep, until I move closer. Soft muffled sobs escape her.

'Laura?' I say concerned.

'That was him, My father. He... He..' She stutters.

I slowly climb on the bed next to her. Facing her. I place my hand above her hip.

'Hey, hey. Its OK. Look at me.' Her brown eyes meet my green.

'I'm not going to let him hurt you, ever.' she looks down, than back up at me.

'I promise you. No ones ever going to hurt you again.' I let her see how serious I am.
