Secrets *Marauder's Era Fanfic*

(Yes, I know it's a crappy title, but I actually think the story's pretty good!)
Alex Chase is the new girl at Hogwarts. But she put a twist on the stereotypical shy new girl. Alex is funny, outgoing, smart, and a prankster. Everyone thinks that she's pretty much an open book, and her best friends always know how she's feeling. But, like everyone else in the world, she has secrets. Hers are particularly big. And big secrets cause trouble, everyone knows that. So what will happen when those secrets stop being into secrets? Will everything fall apart? Or will it only make her stronger?

1. Chapter One: Meeting the Marauders

Hi, everyone! I'm new here at the moment. Or, well, when I'm publishing this. I might not be new when you're reading it. Anyways, here is a fanfic that I'm considering writing. I just wanted to get the first chapter up to see how ya'll liked it. Please, comment your opinions on this, I could really use them. Even give me some constructive criticism, if you want to. Just your opinions in general! And I'm sorry if I have a few spelling mistakes and such, I don't really like to edit my chapters much. Also, please tell me if you think I should continue on with this fanfic. If you don't think I should keep writing this, don't be afraid to tell me. But at least give me a reason why. Okay, anyways, hope you enjoy!!! :)

Disclaimer: Everything belongs to Queen J. K. Rowling, except a few little twists I've made, and Alex is very much mine! :)

I grinned to myself as I looked in my bag. It was full of pranking supplies - including Filibuster Fireworks, which I was going to use to prank some students. From what I have overheard so far, everyone here on the Hogwarts Express didn't seem to like one of the four houses - Slytherin. So I had decided to prank them.

I wandered the train for a bit, trying to find some of the Slytherins, and I finally found some. There was a really pale guy with pin straight bleach-blond hair - I think I heard some of the others calling him Lucius - another guy with black eyes and pitch black hair - he was looking out the window, ignoring the other Snakes - and two girls. One of them had really wild black hair, who was cackling, apparently. The other one was bleach blonde like Lucius - Lucy, maybe? *evil grin* - and had her nose in a book. I figured that they were Slytherins because of their silver and green ties.

Anyways, I pressed myself up against the wall right next to the door, grabbed a firework and my wand and took a deep breath. I grinned, then lit the firework and threw it in the compartment, also casting a charm that wrote words onto the door. I wrote:

Enjoy!

Love, Alex Chase <3

Then I ran in the opposite direction. I heard screams from behind me and laughed maniacally, and then I heard someone scream, "POTTER!" I laughed again, and shouted behind me.

"It's Alex! Alex Chase!"

I heard feet pounding behind me, and I just dove into a random compartment. I quickly slammed the door and crouched down under the window so that Lucy - Lucius - couldn't see me. I grinned and panted, out of breath from all of the running, and when I heard the pounding footsteps pass, I quickly peeked out into the hall. I saw two of the snakes, Lucy and the wild-haired one start banging on the compartment doors, trying to find me. I smiled again, and stood up, dusting my hands off. I then turned to the four boys who were sitting in it, looking about my age. I smiled at them, but they just looked confused.

I looked over all of them, one of them had dark black, very messy hair and hazel eyes. He was also wearing glasses. The one sitting across from him had shaggy, shoulder-length black hair and sparkling grey eyes. Then there was another boy who was sitting next to Glasses. He had short-but-shaggy light brown hair, these bizarre scars on his cheeks, and green eyes. He was also holding a book, and so he was my favorite. They were all very attractive, but then there was the boy sitting across from Book-Guy. He was runty and rat-like, with mousy brown short hair and tiny light blue eyes.

I decided that I wanted to sit next to Book-Guy, so I wiggled in between him and Glasses. Then I looked at him and casually asked, "Whatcha reading?" He just stared at me, along with everyone else in the compartment. Maybe it was because of my American accent? Anyways, I snapped my fingers, and that broke their trance. Book-guy blinked, then glanced down at his book, seeming to remember what I had asked him.

"Oh-well, it's, um, Alice's Adventures In Wonderland," he said. I nodded, smiling. "Good book. What chapter are you at?" He looked back up at me with a strange expression on his face. "Um, chapter eight." I nodded again. "I remember that chapter! The Queen's Croquet Ground, right?" I asked, tilting my head.

He opened his book and checked, then nodded. When he looked up again, he had a curious expression on. "Um, well, if you don't mind me asking, who are you, exactly?" he asked, biting his lip. I grinned at him mysteriously."What's your name?" I asked, avoiding the question. He smiled, "I'm Remus, Remus Lupin."

"And I'm Sirius," I heard a voice say across from me. I turned to look at where the voice came from, it came from Shaggy (the one with black, shaggy hair). I cocked my head. "I like Shaggy better," I said. He looked startled, "Huh?" And the person next to me - not Remus, the other side of me - burst out laughing. I looked over at Glasses, the one who was laughing, and started to giggle, too.

Shaggy seemed to get over his startled-ness, and now looked offended. He glared at Glasses, who was still laughing, hunched over and holding his sides, and gave him a sharp kick in the shin. Glasses yelped and stopped laughing, and started clutching his leg. "Hey!" he said, looking at Shaggy. Shaggy just stuck out his tounge, which made me giggle again. That drew their attention to me.

I smiled at them and waved. They looked at me strangely - with the same expression Remus had on when I asked what chapter he was on in his book. I cocked my head. "What?" I asked. Shaggy shook his head, and then they both said "Nothing" at the same time. I smiled again, then turned to Glasses.

"What's your name, Glasses?" I asked. Shaggy barked a laugh, and Glasses shot him a look before responding. "I'm Potter, James Potter," he said, a lot like James Bond. And they had the same name, too!

I nodded and smiled, then realized that I had been doing a lot of that recently, so I switched to frowning and shaking my head, mid-nod. They all looked at me, confused, so I explained. "I realized I was doing a lot of smiling and nodding, so now I'm frowning and shaking my head." They still looked weirded-out, but I ignored it.

I turned to Rat-face and asked, "What's your name?"

"P-p-p-peter petti-g-grew," he stuttered, blushing. I shook my head and frowned again, then stood up. "I have to get back to my compartment," I said, looking at my watch. I started to leave, but before I shut the compartment door, Remus called after me. "Wait! We never got your name!" I turned and smirked at them. "I know," I said, continuing to leave. "But what was it?" asked Shaggy. I stopped, then called it back over my shoulder, before I started walking.

"Alex. Alex Chase."
