I'm Ariel, I like to think of myself as a typical teenage girl, but Nick changed all of that and turned my life upside down.

Nick is not your average guy, he runs the biggest baddest gang in California, he's the most known guy but he's still the biggest mystery.

15. chapter 15

"Would you relax?" He asked, with a small laugh. I had been freaking out the whole car ride. I certainly wasn't ready... When was the last time I even saw my parents? Because I sure as hell can't remember

"I'm relaxed" I said stiffly.

"Yeah okay" he nodded, parking in my driveway. "Babe, calm down, I'm not going to do something stupid" he smiled a bit.

"Why am I doubting that?" I asked him, giggling a bit.

"I don't know, I'd like to think I'm responsible" he shrugged.

"Fine, lets get this done" I nodded, kissing him.

"It'll be fun" he smiled, getting out and coming to open my door.

"Unless my mom freaks" I muttered. My mom has always been known to be a bit on the crazy side, I've never really took anyone to meet her because of this.

"Honey, who is this boy?" My mom immediately asked as she opened the door.

"This is Phoenix" I introduced him.

"Honey, I don't mean to be rude, but why is he in my home?" She asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.

"Id rather not have this conversation in front of the boy" she gritted out.

"Why not?" I asked, walking past her and into the house, with Nick on my trail. I walked straight into the kitchen and grabbed a tub of ice cream.

"Because well, he looks like a bad crowd" she said, trying to find the words.

"You don't even know him" I sighed heavily. This was going to be one hell of a ride.

"You got a tattoo?" She gasps coming closer.

"Oh yeah, that" I trailed off, looking at the ink I had on me permanently. "I got a tattoo" I repeated, looking her in the eyes. She looked like she was about to explode.

"What else will you do while I'm gone? Get pregnant!?" She yelled.

"Guess I don't have to announce it now" I joked, watching her get redder than she already was, if even possible.

"FREDRICK" my mom yelled, I could mentally hear the sigh of my father.

"Yes honey?" He asked her calmly, coming into the kitchen.

"This boy!" She exclaimed.

"Yes?" My father looked between her and Nick.

"He's bad news, she's got a tattoo, pregnant!" She tried not to raised her voice.

"Nice tattoo sweetheart" my dad smiled at me. "If you're pregnant, I hope the baby isn't named after me, I mean Fredrick" he muttered mostly to himself.

"I love you dad" I smiled at him.

"I will not stand this boy in my house" my mom challenged me.

"Honey, take a deep breath, our daughter seems to be in fine hands" my dad groaned, my mom and dad always got into bickers like this.

"I can assure you she is sir" Nick finally pitched in, getting an elbow to the ribs from me. "Phoenix King" he shook firmly, after shooting me a look.

"I'm sure dinner will be ready soon, in the mean time, come" he said no Nick, walking out of the room.

Nick looked at me a bit unsure on what to do, he looked a little... Shaken. I sent him a reassuring smile, and jutted my head in a signal for him to follow my father. My dad is definitely not as scary as Nick, he'll be fine... At least I think so.

"I can't believe you" my mom started, she looked red.

I love my mom and all but she's not always the most understanding person in the world. I get these rants often and over dumb stuff, then my dad comes and takes my ass off the burner.

"We've been gone for how long? And all the sudden you're hanging out with a tattooed up boy, who looks like a thug!" My mom began.

I knew I shouldn't open my mouth because I'd get accused off "back talking". I could tell her that her foods burning or something and she would get mad at me for back talking, she's more than a little nuts.

"Where did you even meet him? A back alley? We trust you home alone here, or with Cecilia and we come back and this boy is in my house! What happened to my little angel?" She continued, looking like steam was about to burst out of her ears. "Are you doing drugs now? Do I need to have an intervention??" My mom is taking it two steps too far. I kinda zoned out and watched her pace around and get redder.

~Nicks pov~

Her dad lead me to his man cave, it looked pretty good. Leather chairs, big screen, pool table, darts, air hockey, ping pong, virtual golf, endless amount of food things, this man had it all.

"Have a seat" he told me, we ended up sitting across from each other, he leaned back and began to speak. "Look, I'm definitely not as crazy as my wife so you can tell me anything" he told me, I nodded in response a bit nervous. "How'd you meet my daughter?" He asked me.

"That party she went to, I kinda helped her get away from a guy, but her being the stubborn one she is, thanked me and left with close to nothing" I told him awkwardly.

"That sounds like her" he chuckled. "What do you think of my daughter?" He asked me, leaning closer.

"In all honesty, I've known her for like 2 weeks but she's definitely been growing on me, she's perfect" I smiled awkwardly.

"I mean she looks well taken care of, I don't mind" he shrugged. "Although, that tattoo, you kid seem like you are mixed up in some not so great stuff huh?" He asked me, this is always the question I'm the most nervous for. What do I say? Oh yeah I run the most notorious gang around sir. No. The doesn't usually play off well with anyone.

"Yeah, you could say that" I answered after a long pause.

"It's not my business, till something happens to my daughter, you keep her safe and out of trouble and your good in opinion" he told me. He seems like the complete opposite of his wife, I guess opposites attract but I can't even see how he stands her.

"Thanks" I gave him a small smile with a nod.

"I like you, I don't want to jinx it but welcome to the family" he patted me on the arm.

"I don't want to jinx it, but I really like your daughter, I plan on keeping her around for as long as possible" I told him nervously.

"Just treat her right and I'm sure you'll have her" he told me, getting up. "We should check on the girls, make sure everything is okay" he told me, I got up and followed him out to the kitchen where you could still hear her yelling. "Honey, give it a rest please" he went in there, trying to calm her down.

"That boy" she yelled at me as soon as I walked into the kitchen doorway. "I think it would be best if he left" my mom gritted out.

"If he leaves, I follow" Ariel said, standing up. "You're so stuck up in your perfect fucking world that you can't even get to know the boy who's been taking care of me for the past month" she snapped, I didn't really think that Ariel could be this... Angry, she's so sweet and small.

"I don't need to know some hoodlum who's turned my daughter bad" she shook her head.

"Since when do you know how I am!" She yelled. "You're around on holidays and my birthday, I'm just wondering why the fuck you're back now" Ariel laughed bitterly. "Call me when you get off your high horse, or don't frankly I don't care" she finished, taking a deep breath and storming out of the house.

"Because of you my daughter hates me!" She accused me, I was too shocked to move so I didn't leave fast enough to not get acknowledged again.

"If you want my opinion, I'd tell you that she hates you because of what you did, if I know anything I'd say she still puts you on such a high pedestal in her head, and the fact that she's pretty much been on her own because of you abandoning her to work, sure you gave her everything she's ever wanted expect you never really showed her love, if I were you I'd start trying to be a mom but you know that's my dumb hoodlum opinion don't listen to thugs" I said calmly, watching her closely. Her mouth fell open but no words seemed to be able to come out. "Now if you don't mind I'm going to go take care of your daughter, like I have been every day for the past month" I told her, turning to ariels dad and giving him a small smile before walking out the door to see the sight I hated the most, Ariel hurting.

"Can we go home" she asked, a sob slipping from her mouth. I nodded quietly, heading to the car with her on my trail.

Honestly, I had so much I wanted to say, did she want to hear them? I don't know. It hurt me to see her so hurt, I've seen a lot of stuff in my day but for some reason this is by far the hardest and I've seen my best friends get shot, die in my arms. I wanted to take away every little bit of pain she was feeling, I sound like such a fucking girl.

"Oh god, what's wrong?" Piper asked, causing everyone to stop and stare at us, I could feel Ariel shrink back into me.

"What are you guys looking at?" I snapped, everyone went back to their own business, and I looked back at piper. "Nothing you need to worry about" I told her, taking Ariel up to my room.

"I shouldn't have taken you there" she shook her head.

"Come here" I muttered softly, pulling her into me. "You want to know something?" I asked her, she nodded. I lifted her chin so she was looking me in the eyes and I took a deep breath. "I put your mom in her place, left her gaping" I laughed a bit. "But there's one thing, I hate the sight of you in pain, I hate to see tears rolling down your face, I hate that I can't fix it, I never want to be the cause to any pain you ever feel, and she definitely doesn't deserve your tears" I told her, wiping away her tears and kissing her softly. "Come on, let's cuddle" I nodded toward the bed, a smile smile breaking into her lips.

"Thank you" she whispered, cuddling deeper into me.

I may be young, and stupid but there's something about her that makes me want to keep her around forever, is it love? I don't know I mean I don't even know what love is, am a falling or is it just lust?
