8. Feelings.

 Elena-

 For once in my life I didn't want it to be Friday, I finally wanted to stay in school to see what he was like with me, how he would react. I didn't know why I was so intrigued, but I was. It was like a new chapter? But how? How could one walk home make me feel like I knew him as well as I knew Jenny?

 The gentle knocking at my door woke me from my day dream whilst I was brushing my hair, I glanced down at my watch 7:37am, then looked back up. Before I knew it the door creaked open and my dad poked his head round the door with his hand covering his eyes.

"I'm decent."  I mumbled as I twizzled my hair into a bun and sighed lightly as I looked in the mirror. He took away his hand and smiled at me through the mirror, I half smiled then looked down at the cream floor.

"This is the last time I'll see you till Sunday evening." His words were soft, but I could tell he was rushing.

"I hope you have a good trip." I replied, still looking at the floor.

"Thank you poppet." He stopped, I glanced back up and he hadn't moved, but he just watched my reaction. As soon as we locked eye contact he continued. "Are you not going to give your old man a hug?" My body stiffened as I slowly stood up and walked over to him, he reached out his arms and pulled me in close. I loosely wrapped my arms round his body and then took in the scent of his aftershave. It was the one mum got him. I buried my head into his shoulder and shut my eyes, he was still hurting too. "I love you Elena." I glanced up and pulled away and turned and sat back down at the mirror.

"Love you too." I whispered softly, I didn't look this time for his reaction, I just heard him sigh and slowly walk out of the room.

                                                                     *

 As I jumped out of the car I already had head phones in my hand as I shoved them in my ears as an escape. I knew I shouldn't of let down my guard of hurting, Mum told me to stay strong for her, to promise her that I would take care of Dad. I had just fucked it up. I was meant to act like I wasn't hurting, that was why I was so quiet, and then I broke it all just because of a fucking aftershave.

I screwed my fists up in anger and stomped up the hill as the wind blew past my ears. I stopped and caught my breath and wiped my forehead and took a deep breath, as I went to step a voice made me jump.

"Elena?" I turned and saw Justin smiling, I looked at him and it felt like all my worries had been flushed out of me, just because of his smile. "Hey."

"Hey." I smiled back. "How come you're walking?" Justin laughed and then looked at me seriously.

"Why do you think?" He raised an eyebrow and stared at me tensly, I blushed and looked down at the pavement. "You coming to the party tonight?" I glanced up, great way to make me feel better. I shrugged my shoulders and carried on walking.

"I-I wasn't invited." I looked down and dragged my feet across the dull floor in embarrassment. He laughed which made me look up.

"You're jokes." He swiftly put his arm around my waist and pulled me in close, I fumbled into his muscular body and went even redder. "Of course you are." He looked down at me with his dark caramel eyes, I stared back almost lost in them. "You come with me, we will be like a duo." I breathed out and looked down at my feet and slowly stepped back.

"Thanks for the pity." I smirked and went to carry on walking, this time both of his hands grabbed my arm and spun me round too quickly, making my feet tangle. I would've fallen if he hadn't had such a firm grip on me. As my foot slammed down on the ground to catch my balance, I turned in annoyance and stared at him. Smiling cheekily, he brushed a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"I want you there." He didn't look at me when he said it, it was almost like he genuinely meant it and that is why he couldn't look at me. I pulled my top back down and stood up straight and squeezed his hand subtly then let go.

"Are you-" I never got to finish my sentence because he already started walking ahead, I guess Justin wasn't very good with 'feelings'.
