In That Moment, We Were Infinite (Book 5)

Family stays together until the end. No matter how close the end is, you have to stay together. Now maybe I'm not the perfect person to say this, but to lose them before you even got a chance with them is tragic. Trust me, that I do know. But I swear, in our last moments, we were infinite. And I would never give that up. Not for anything.

Fred's POV

What the hell just happened? I looked around me, and I wasn't at Hogwarts. I wasn't anywhere I recognized. I looked around and I saw a few people I didn't recognize. And then.

"Harry?" I asked the man who looked very much like him.

"Who, me? No. I'm James. And you're Fred Weasley. I like you, I liked the pranks you pulled." He said and a red haired girl walked up next to his and took his hand.

"Wait, you're Lily and James. Where am I? What even happened?"

"Well, love, you're... You're dead." Lily said and I looked at her, bewildered.

"I'm dead?"

"Yeah, since about ten minutes ago." James said.

"How... How did you know that?" I asked.

"We've been watching over you. Well, all of you." She said.

"So... You mean to tell me you've been sort of like the angel things Muggles believe in?"

"Technically, yes." Harry's mother told me.

"So you would know who's okay... What about Athena? Is she alive? Is she hurt?" I asked frantically. She smiled and let go of her husbands hand to take mine.

"Come see for yourself." She said and led me to another strange place. There I saw  Remus, younger than I've ever seen him, and Sirius too. And Tonks as well?

"Tonks, Remus?"

"Fred! What did you do? Athena will kill you-wait..." Sirius started and I laughed. "Anyway, you wanted to see her, I presume?" He asked. I nodded. "We'll I've been watching her this whole time-so has Lily and James, so come here." He said and whatever happened I could suddenly see everyone.

I could see George crying over me, and Ron and Mum. Everyone else too. Athena wasn't there. But I could see her walking over. "Woah, Fred too? Bloody hell!" I looked up to see a boy who looked almost the exact same as Sirius, except with a few minor differences.

"Fred, this is Regulus. My brother, the git." Sirius smiled and Regulus smacked the back of his head.

"There she is," Remus said sadly. I saw her walking towards the mass of ginger hair surrounding me. Well, my body.

She looked so beautiful, walking towards them. Clueless, as well. And then her face fell and whatever happened, she was next to me on the ground, instantly. And she was crying. "This is weird, you can hear them and everything." I said.

"Yeah, that means I heard every conversation you've had for the past two years," Sirius said and my face flushed. "That's right, be scared, punk." He joked and I smiled.

I looked down and instead of being next to me, George was picking her up and I think she was crying so hard she couldn't object. "No.. Don't cry, I'm right here." I said softly.

"She doesn't know that, though." Lily said gently and placed a hand on my shoulder.

My brother let her down next to me after a little while and my heart broke-figuratively. I'm dead-just watching her. "Freddie, what've you gotten yourself into?" She whispered. "You just got everything together, what are we ever going to do without you? You know, you're gonna be a dad. You would've been the best damn dad in the world, too." She leaned down and kissed me. "love you so much."

"She's pregnant! Oh no no no. No, I didn't die for this shit!" I exclaimed and Remus laughed.

"You'll be fine, she'll be fine. She has lots of people that'll care for her and the baby." He said and placed a hand on my back. At the mention of baby, Tonks looked so upset. Well of course, they had a one month old at home.

"I know, but she always wanted a baby and now I can't be with her when she has it." I said sadly.

"She understands, it isn't like you wanted this. You couldn't help it." He said. I nodded and I saw him frown.

"What?" He nodded toward her and I saw her walking towards his and Tonks's body. That couldn't have been easy on him.

She kept repeating that she still needed him and he looked so upset. "Was she that bad when I died?"

"Mhm, worse, maybe." Remus told him quietly. Eventually, McGonagall came around and saw her. She helped her up and she talked to her for a while.

Not much happened after than, not until it started to turn light outside again. Then all hell broke loose. Everyone was outside watching this mob of Death Eaters led by Voldemort advance toward the castle. No one could do anything because they were outnumbered by hundreds.

But there was something odd. Hagrid was carrying someone. And Voldemort yelled something nobody expected to hear. "HARRY POTTER IS DEAD!"

Lily and James looked at each other, but I couldn't notice much more. All I could focus on is how sad and scared Athena looked while George held her in his arms. Harry couldn't have been dead though, could he? He wasn't here. Some things happened with the Malfoy prat and Neville stood up to talk.

And then Harry turned out to be alive? And the second part of the battle took place, and everything happened at once. "He's... Dead. They did it. He's dead!" I heard one of them say happily. I would've cheered with them, but I was too focused on how sad Athena looked. She lost a lot of people she cared about today.

Her and Eli sat together outside of the castle, and they didn't even speak. She just let Athena cry. And then Eli spoke for the first time since I saw her. "I wonder what Ginger jr. Is gonna be," she said and my wife smiled through her tears.

"I'll be happy either way, but I hope it's a girl. And I hope she's just like her father." She whispered and I smiled.

"She's strong, she'll get over it, and she'll be happy again. Just like she did with her father." Remus said and I nodded.

"I know. And I think she does too, it's just in the meantime. I don't want to think about how she'll be. That'll be the hardest."

"Well, we'll be with her the whole time." He said softly and I nodded. I looked back down at her once again and I closed my eyes.

"I love you, Athena. I'm proud to be able to say that you were the one I married." I whispered and I opened my eyes and her face contorted into shock, almost as if she heard what I said. I felt like I was going to cry. "I love you." I said once more and didn't wait to see her reaction before walking away. And I meant every word of what I said. I truly am proud that she was the girl I married. No matter how annoying she got, or how many fights we got in, I loved her no matter what. And if I could, I would never change anything at all.
