Valuing Your Virtues (Book 4)

One thing you'll learn in life is to value your virtues. Even though it may be hard to do. After losing something so great, it might not be easy to get back on track, but it starts to become easier after you accept yourself for what you have, instead of what you've lost. After losing my father, it wasn't a happy time, but I'm here. I'm still alive, and I'm still fighting. Me, Athena Black, has realized something grand. That is to not give up until you've realized what you've got.

Athena's POV

"It isn't much, but it's something." Fred smiled.

"I love it." I said softly and kissed his cheek. "Our own apartment. Never thought in a million years you'd be the one I was marrying and moving in with," I smiled a hollow sort of smile.

"Oh thanks, love you too." He rolled his eyes.

"I never said I didn't love you," I said, wrapping my arms around him "I just never thought you'd settle for me over any other girl." I rested my head on his chest.

"Are you kidding? I'd never even imagine myself with another girl," he told me. We stayed like that for a while, him holding me with his arms around my waist, and my arms around his neck with my head on his chest. It felt like I was finally home after a long day. That's exactly what it was. His arms were my home, and I don't ever want to move out.

He kissed the top of my head as we slowly began to away back and fourth. I laughed quietly. "Are we really doing this?"

"If you want to,"

"I can't dance."

"Do you think I care?" He grinned and lifted me up so I was standing on his feet. "Is simple, I dance, and you do absolutely nothing." He said.

"I like doing nothing. Good idea, Freddie." I said. And we stayed there for a long time, 'dancing', and for once I felt okay. When I'm with him, the hole in my chest was finally filled.

He kissed me and we accidentally head butted each other, and then ended up on the ground in a fit of giggles. He held me in his arms while we sat on the floor, and my laughs soon turned to sobs. "I love you," I said into his neck, hugging him as close to me as I could. This wasn't exactly a rare phenomenon anymore. I was constantly crying and I couldn't help it. Fortunately, Fred was with me through it all, and thankfully I was better than I was.

"You know, we've come a long way from where we began." He whispered, grabbing my face gently. I placed my hands over his and I smiled through the tears.

"You're right. And you'll be here until the end?"

"Wouldn't have it any other way."

"I love you, Fred Weasley."

"And I love you too, Athena Black."

"Who knew it would end up like this? Really though, I mean almost a year ago, I was with my dad again. Happy and without a worry in the world. Now he's dead, and you're stuck with a roller coaster of emotion that is your fiancée." I said bluntly.

"Yes, but I love that roller coaster of emotion. Don't you forget that."

"How could I?" I laughed and he brought his lips closer and connected them with mine once more.
