Valuing Your Virtues (Book 4)

One thing you'll learn in life is to value your virtues. Even though it may be hard to do. After losing something so great, it might not be easy to get back on track, but it starts to become easier after you accept yourself for what you have, instead of what you've lost. After losing my father, it wasn't a happy time, but I'm here. I'm still alive, and I'm still fighting. Me, Athena Black, has realized something grand. That is to not give up until you've realized what you've got.

A/N this chapter is taken place in the movie, not the book. The only reason is because I feel this book is getting boring, and this will make up for it. So I hope you like this!

Athena's POV

Christmas at the burrow. There isn't much more to it. It's amazing all the way around and I wouldn't have changed it for the world.

"Athena," Harry waved his hand in front of my face.

"Yeah. What?" I looked at him.

"Did you hear a word I just said?" He asked.

"I can't say I did," I smiled sheepishly.

"Thanks, love you too." He rolled his eyes. I laughed and shrugged.

"Oh shut up, I love you." I flicked him on the nose.

"Harry!" Remus exclaimed walking into the room.

"Hey?" I said and raised an eyebrow. "Remember me? Your goddaughter?" I asked.

"Oh hey Athena," he grinned.

"Oh fuck you."

"Hey! That's not a very nice thing to say to your godfather. Especially on Christmas." A familiar voice said and It immediately brought a smile to my face.

"Tonks!" I jumped up and hugged her. "It's been fucking forever!" I said and she agreed.

"So how's the happy couple, who's getting married?" She asked and looked at Fred and I.

"It's going great, but stressful." I sighed and Fred walked over to hug me.

"Yeah, she won't shut up about all the different designs for wedding invitations."

"Oh, she's the bride. Everything has to be perfect." Tonks told him and hit him on the arm.

"I know, and I'm happy with that but does it really matter what the invitations look like?" He asked.

"It does, now go away." I shooed him out of the room.

"You insane yet?" Remus asked and hugged me.

"A little," I laughed. "But it's so worth it."

"I like how I've been here a whole five minutes, yet you haven't spoken a word to me. I'm really feeling the love right now." Eli said from behind me. I turned around and shook my head.

"I just don't love you anymore." I joked.

"Wow. I see how it is." She placed a hand over her heart.

"Oh come here." I opened my arms and she ran into them, kissing me cheek in the process.

"Okay, I leave for one minute, and you're already with someone else. I see how it is."

"Oh Fred, I just thought I'd tell you later, but I guess it's all out on the table now. I'm a full out lesbian and Eli is my lover." I said and laughed.

"This is the weirdest conversation I've ever been engaged in." George muttered.

"And you love it." I smiled. "Nah, I'm actually just a bisexual little fairy that likes to sleep all day." I shrugged.

"Ain't that the truth." Eli said in her best American accent.

"Oh whatever," I rolled my eyes. "Even though it's true, I don't like to make a point of it."

"Dinners ready!" Molly exclaimed and walked into the room.

"Thank god," I muttered and walked out behind her.

After dinner all of us were just laying around not doing much of anything. Soon enough, Remus, Eli and Tonks were about to leave and we all went to say goodbye at the door. Remus hugged me and so did Tonks and Eli. It was hard to say goodbye because between training and wedding planning, I didn't get to see much of them at all.

"Well, I guess-" I was cut off by a dark figure appearing a few metered away from where we were standing. "What the hell?" And as soon as the words came out of my mouth, the burrow was in closed in a giant ring if fire. I turned to look at Fred, and then the woman yelled out the words that in sure will never leave my head.

"I killed Sirius Black! I killed Sirius Black! Are you coming to get me?!" I shared a look with Remus, which was him telling me to stay put and me saying no way in hell.

As soon as she yelled it out again I took off running after her. Everyone was telling my name as well as Harry's, which in assuming he started running too, but I ignored them. There is no way that she was getting away this time.

"I killed Sirius Black!"

"YOU BITCH!" I yelled and shot curse after curse at her, but none hit. I finally got close enough to grab her, and it must've been the perfect time, too because she apparated as soon as I grabbed her arm. We landed hard on the ground and I almost fell, but I refused.

"You killed him! You fucking bitch!" I yelled through tears. "You killed him." I sobbed, holding my wand out at her.

"Oh look who's missing daddy." She teased and stuck her tongue out. "Not like anyone important would miss him. The disgraceful black child. And look, here's another one. You filthy blood traitor."

"You shut your fucking mouth, Lestrange! As much as you hate to admit it, you're related to this blood traitor." I said and her eyes filled with rage. I could play dirty too.

"I'm related to no such thing." She spat.

"Oh yeah, you and dad were really close family, weren't you? Oh yes. And I'm almost as close. You're related to a filthy fucking blood traitor. Shame, isn't it? Now why don't you run back to your lord and beg for his forgiveness for having such a disgusting family member?" I taunted.

"What are you gonna do about it?" I smirked and she pulled her wand. So did I.

"Maybe you deserve to go just like daddy? Or maybe, you should suffer first!" She exclaimed. "CRUCIO!" An immense pain shot through my body and I fell to the ground. I couldn't think of anything other than the unbearable pain I was feeling. I'm sure I was screaming, and crying too. It felt like hours before she finally stopped. "How did that feel?" She cackled.

"Wonderful," I gasped for breath.

"You little- CRUCIO!" Again, I couldn't think about anything other than the pain I was feeling. It wasn't located in a certain place, it was everywhere. I could feel it growing stronger and I couldn't stop it.

"Is that it? Really?" I asked as the pain stopped for a second time.

"Is that all? Would you like to hurt more?" I stood up and walked closer to her.

"Physical pain numbs emotional pain, you bitch." I said and spat in her face.

"CRUCIO!" I screamed, and I never meant something more than I did in that moment. She was on the ground, probably in as much pain as I was, and honestly, I've never been more satisfied with myself. But maybe I should've focused more, because as soon as I started to lose focus, the curse was no longer working.

"You see, even you have a bit of evil in you." She gasped. "But I'm sorry, I have to use this little trick someone taught me." She smirked. "SECTUMSEMPRA!" She cried and I was flat on my back on the ground, bleeding from several deep gashed all over my body. "Bye bye, itty bitty baby Black." She waved and cackled before disapparating.

"No... No no! Don't let me." I paused and took in a shaky breath. "Don't let me die like this. There's a lot I need to do and I can't die right now." I sobbed.

"Athena! Where in the bloody hell are you!?" I heard someone yell, but I couldn't answer. I tried so hard, but I couldn't. So I grabbed my wand and shot up red sparks. It's what we were taught if we were in danger and someone was looking for you. I didn't get to see what happened, because not long after the footsteps started moving faster, I passed out. I just hope to god someone will find me. And soon.
